3. Important Note

Thank you for choosing the EclerNet DANTE™/AES67 PAGENETDN paging station. For maximum operability and performance, it is VERY IMPORTANT to read and understand the considerations in this manual before connection.

For optimal performance, maintenance should be carried out by authorized Ecler Technical Services. All ECLER products have a warranty; please consult www.ecler.com or the warranty card for validity and conditions.

4. Introduction

The PAGENETDN is a programmable paging console with dual audio output: DANTE™/AES67 (digital) and analog (balanced). It allows control and microphone signals to work with any EclerNet digital matrix, including those that support DANTE™/AES67 or not, such as MIMO4040DN, MIMO88, MIMO88SG, and MIMO1212SG.

It shares control functions with the WPNETTOUCH and can be programmed to control one or more networked EclerNet devices, or even an entire installation comprising various EclerNet devices like MIMO matrices, NXA series digital audio managers, DUO-NET PLAYER units, etc. All programming is done via the EclerNet Manager application.

The device features a desktop console design with a 10” capacitive touchscreen, a gooseneck microphone, and user control panels for paging and controlling networked EclerNet devices, VEO video devices, and third-party devices.

4.1. Main Features

5. Installation and Connections

5.1. Installation and Wiring

The unit comes with the microphone detached and must be inserted into the console before use. To install the microphone, align the connection pins with the XLR connector on the console and apply pressure until it clicks. The security tab ensures proper seating. A slight vertical oscillation indicates correct installation, minimizing handling noise.

To remove the microphone, use a pin-type extraction tool to press the release hole on the back of the microphone base. This will release the XLR security tab, allowing the microphone to be pulled out firmly.

Before programming and use, the PAGENETDN must be connected to the network via its internal RJ45 ETHERNET interface. This and other connectors are accessible by removing the bottom metal plate (requires removing 3 screws).

Internal View of PAGENETDN (after removing bottom plate):

The unit can be powered by DC, directly via PoE (Power over Ethernet) from the connected Ethernet switch, or via the included 12 VDC, 2A external power supply (EXTERNAL PSU CONNECTOR).

Additional Audio Connectors:

5.2. Audio Adjustments

The PAGENETDN offers several audio controls for adjusting incoming analog audio signals:

(*) Note: The microphone's XLR connector supports standard XLR microphones, including the Ecler eMCN1 supplied with the unit. However, it may not securely hold microphones with a wider base than the standard XLR size.

Image Description: Two microphones are shown. One is the Ecler eMCN1. The other, marked with a red 'X', appears to be a microphone with a wider base that does not fit the standard XLR connector.

6. Operation

The PAGENETDN must be correctly included in an EclerNet project and configured (considering DANTE™/AES67 audio and control routing) to display the UCP paging and control panels for the end-user. Examples are provided:

MIMO4040DN MAIN PAGER: A visual representation of a paging interface with 40 programmable buttons, labeled 1 through 40, with 'ALL', 'PAGE', and 'CLEAR' buttons at the bottom.

SECONDARY PAGER: A visual representation of a secondary paging interface with 16 programmable buttons, labeled 1 through 16, with 'ALL', 'PAGE', and 'CLEAR' buttons at the bottom.

Image Description: A screenshot showing a dressing room with a control panel labeled 'VOLUME' and 'Radios' with buttons 1, 2, 3, 4, ePLAYER1, PC 1 WIN, PC 2 MAC, and a MUTE button. The volume slider ranges from 0 to 10.

For more information, please consult the EclerNet Manager application user manual, chapter DISPOSITIVO PAGENETDN.

7. Local Unit Configuration

The PAGENETDN's settings and configuration menus can be accessed locally via its touchscreen. These menus are identical to those available for the WPNETTOUCH device, as the PAGENETDN incorporates a WPNETTOUCH unit.

The same configurations are accessible remotely when the unit is controlled by a remote computer running the EclerNet Manager application.

Local access to configuration menus is achieved by tapping the SETUP icon on the unit's home page.

Image Description: The screen shows 'User Control Panels' connected to 'SCREEN (192.168.0.100)'. It displays four panels: 'UDP/TCP Control', 'M4040DN Paging', 'Paging consoles', and 'CONF_ROOM', each with resolution details. Below this, there is a navigation bar with left/right arrows and an Ecler logo.

The available configuration menus are:

7.1. Screen Configuration Menu

This menu allows configuring display elements and controls:

Image Description: The screen shows 'Setup | Screen Configuration' with options for 'Display Mode' (ON, DIMMED, OFF), 'Backlight Intensity' (slider from 0 to 100), 'Auto-Zoom Panels' (YES/NO toggle), 'Show Panel OSD Buttons' (YES/NO toggle), and 'Scroll by OSD Buttons' (YES/NO toggle), 'Scroll by Swipe' (YES/NO toggle).

Note: Even when OSD buttons are hidden, they can remain active. Pressing the upper corners scrolls through panel pages, and the lower corners access the icon bar. This should be considered when designing UCP layouts, ensuring corners are clear if these OSD buttons are to be used.

Image Description: The bottom of the screen displays an icon bar with left/right arrows for horizontal scrolling, a 'HOME' icon for the main page, and an 'X' icon to exit the bar. It also shows 'GYM' and 'Page 2 of 6'.

7.2. Device Configuration Menu

This menu allows adjusting the following unit parameters:

Image Description: The screen shows 'Setup | Device Configuration' with fields for 'Device Name' (editable text field), 'Device Password' (editable text field with 'Change...' button), and 'Enable UCP Server' (YES/NO toggle). Below is a QWERTY keyboard layout.

From EclerNet Manager, you can release devices controlled by the computer by creating a new project (File -> New project) or by disconnecting them one by one (right-click -> Disconnect).

From a WPNETTOUCH/WPmSCREEN, you can release devices controlled by the unit by setting the 'Enable UCP Server' option to NO.

7.3. Network Configuration Menu

This menu allows modifying the unit's network connection parameters: IP Address, Network Mask, and Gateway.

Note: Neither the WPNETTOUCH nor any other EclerNet device supports dynamic IP address assignment (DHCP). Static IP addresses must always be assigned manually.
