For optimal performance, maintenance should be carried out by authorized Ecler Technical Services. All ECLER products have a warranty; please consult www.ecler.com or the warranty card for validity and conditions.
4. Introduction
The PAGENETDN is a programmable paging console with dual audio output: DANTE™/AES67 (digital) and analog (balanced). It allows control and microphone signals to work with any EclerNet digital matrix, including those that support DANTE™/AES67 or not, such as MIMO4040DN, MIMO88, MIMO88SG, and MIMO1212SG.
It shares control functions with the WPNETTOUCH and can be programmed to control one or more networked EclerNet devices, or even an entire installation comprising various EclerNet devices like MIMO matrices, NXA series digital audio managers, DUO-NET PLAYER units, etc. All programming is done via the EclerNet Manager application.
The device features a desktop console design with a 10” capacitive touchscreen, a gooseneck microphone, and user control panels for paging and controlling networked EclerNet devices, VEO video devices, and third-party devices.
4.1. Main Features
- Integrated digital control panel with a touchscreen, similar to the WPNETTOUCH device.
- 10.1” IPS display (1280 x 800 pixels), capacitive, multi-touch panel.
- Compatible with PoE (Power over Ethernet) power supply.
- Compatible with external power supply (12 VDC, 2A) with multi-plug AC adapters.
- Ethernet Base-Tx 10/100Mb interface.
- Included flexible gooseneck microphone with XLR connector and security latch.
- Audio transport via DANTE™/AES67, 2 channels: Channel #1 for microphone signal, Channel #2 for AUX input signal.
- Phantom power available for the MIC input.
- Analog balanced MIC output, compatible with devices not supporting DANTE™/AES67 natively (e.g., MIMO88, MIMO88SG, MIMO1212SG).
- Stereo AUX LINE input with RCA connectors. Input signal is converted to mono and sent over the network via DANTE™/AES67 channel #2. Can be used for external audio sources.
- Paging functions based on programmable UCP control panels.
- EclerNet control device, capable of executing EclerNet projects internally, acting as a server and/or client for UCP panels.
5. Installation and Connections
5.1. Installation and Wiring
The unit comes with the microphone detached and must be inserted into the console before use. To install the microphone, align the connection pins with the XLR connector on the console and apply pressure until it clicks. The security tab ensures proper seating. A slight vertical oscillation indicates correct installation, minimizing handling noise.
To remove the microphone, use a pin-type extraction tool to press the release hole on the back of the microphone base. This will release the XLR security tab, allowing the microphone to be pulled out firmly.
Before programming and use, the PAGENETDN must be connected to the network via its internal RJ45 ETHERNET interface. This and other connectors are accessible by removing the bottom metal plate (requires removing 3 screws).
Internal View of PAGENETDN (after removing bottom plate):
- EXTERNAL PSU CONNECTOR
- ETHERNET INTERFACE
- PHANTOM POWER ON/OFF
- MIC IN GAIN
- LINE GAIN
- AUX IN
- MIC IN
- HPF Off/On
- ANALOGUE AUDIO OUT
The unit can be powered by DC, directly via PoE (Power over Ethernet) from the connected Ethernet switch, or via the included 12 VDC, 2A external power supply (EXTERNAL PSU CONNECTOR).
Additional Audio Connectors:
- AUX IN (L/R): Stereo LINE input with RCA connectors. The input signal is converted to mono and sent to the network via DANTE™/AES67 channel #2. It can be used for external audio sources.
- MIC OUT (ANALOGUE AUDIO OUT): Balanced mono output (Euroblock). This is a copy of the microphone signal in analog format, useful for paging systems with devices that do not support DANTE™/AES67.
5.2. Audio Adjustments
The PAGENETDN offers several audio controls for adjusting incoming analog audio signals:
- PHANTOM POWER ON/OFF (default = ON): Activates or deactivates phantom power to the microphone's XLR connector. This is used for condenser microphones, such as the included Ecler eMCN1.
- HPF (High Pass Filter) ON/OFF (default = ON): Activates or deactivates a high-pass filter (100Hz @ 12dB/oct) applied to the microphone's audio signal. This helps minimize low frequencies and unwanted noise.
- MIC IN GAIN (*): Adjusts the preamp gain for the incoming microphone signal. This affects both the DANTE™/AES67 channel #1 output and the ANALOGUE AUDIO (MIC) OUT.
- AUX IN GAIN (LINE GAIN): Adjusts the preamp gain for the incoming AUX IN ST LINE signal, which is then converted to mono and sent to DANTE™/AES67 channel #2.
(*) Note: The microphone's XLR connector supports standard XLR microphones, including the Ecler eMCN1 supplied with the unit. However, it may not securely hold microphones with a wider base than the standard XLR size.
Image Description: Two microphones are shown. One is the Ecler eMCN1. The other, marked with a red 'X', appears to be a microphone with a wider base that does not fit the standard XLR connector.
6. Operation
The PAGENETDN must be correctly included in an EclerNet project and configured (considering DANTE™/AES67 audio and control routing) to display the UCP paging and control panels for the end-user. Examples are provided:
