4. Connecting Setup
This device can be used as a source (like a CD player) or as a preamplifier to control volume.
Source Mode
Use the ST300 Signature as a source directly linked to an Integrated or Preamp. BY-PASS mode should be active, indicated by the BY-PASS LED being lit.
Preamplifier Mode
Use the Streamer as a preamplifier directly connected to a power amplifier or active speakers. BY-PASS mode should be inactive, indicated by the BY-PASS LED being off.
Example: Connecting to an Integrated IN300 type amplifier. You can switch on every line IN of the integrated.
Trigger Link
This appliance is equipped with a Trigger output to switch ON/OFF compatible ATOLL amplifiers or other devices with a Trigger input.
Connect the Streamer's Trigger output to the amplifier's Trigger input using a 3.5mm (1/8") stereo male-to-male jack plug. When the Streamer comes out of standby, the amplifier will turn on. It will also turn off when the Streamer goes to sleep.
Note: When the system is operating, the ON/OFF button of your Amplifier must remain in the OFF (0) position. If the switch is in the ON position (I), the amplifier will work, but the Trigger function will not operate.
5. Preamp / BY-PASS Functions
Volume
Volume is managed using the buttons (21) on the front panel or the remote control. The volume level is displayed briefly and is always indicated at the top of the display. On startup, the volume remains at the last set level. Volume at zero mutes the device by switching the output relay.
Sources
Your appliance has 6 inputs (excluding USB, Media Server, Bluetooth®): Line 1, Line 2, Coaxial 1, Coaxial 2, Optical 1, Optical 2. These sources can be renamed using the ATOLL Signature application (Settings/Rename local inputs).
Note: The selected source is always followed by an asterisk (*) on the screen.
Connection: BY-PASS Assignment
For connection to a home cinema system, inputs can be assigned to BY-PASS mode. This function is only possible on Analog inputs 1 and 2. In this mode, volume management is inoperative on the selected input.
To activate BY-PASS: Select Analog input 1 or 2, then hold the BY-PASS button (39) on the remote control for 3 seconds. The BY-PASS LED (22) will illuminate. An input selected in BY-PASS mode will remain memorized even if the source is changed or the power is turned off.
To deactivate BY-PASS: Press the BY-PASS button on the remote control for 3 seconds.
6. Uses
Getting Started
Before switching on, connect the network cable (RJ45) to input (11). A wired connection is highly recommended over Wi-Fi for better results and performance.
Wait for the start-up screen before any manipulation. Use the navigation buttons (17) on the remote control or front panel to select menus. Upon first connection or network configuration changes, check the network settings. Incorrect settings may prevent functions like internet radios or media server access.
Available menus include: Playlists, Internet radio, USB, Media Server, Qobuz, Tidal, Deezer, HighResAudio, Spotify, Bluetooth, Analog 1 and 2, Coaxial 1 and 2, Optical 1 and 2, and Settings.
Network Configuration
Connecting an RJ45 cable automatically initiates the network link. If successful (indicator not blinking), your network is correctly configured.
- Go to the "Settings" menu, then "Network connection".
- Select the "Network Wizard" menu.
- Choose the network type: "Automatic", "Wired", "Wireless", or "Hybrid".
- Automatic: Prioritizes wired connection. If wired, it uses wired. If no cable is connected, it switches to Wi-Fi.
- Wired: If the network cable is plugged in, the device indicates connection (symbol indicates wired link established). If not, configure manually by entering the IP address.
- Wireless: The appliance finds available Wi-Fi networks.
Advice: Use the WPS button for Wi-Fi connection. Press the WPS button on your internet receiver, then the WPS button (30) on the remote control. The display will show "WPS in progress" and then "connected". If WPS fails, press "scan" to see available networks, select yours, and enter the Wi-Fi key.
Enter the Wi-Fi security key in CAPITAL LETTERS without spaces. Confirm the password by pressing the "OK" button (33).
Alternative Connection via ATOLL Signature App:
- Download the ATOLL Signature app on your smartphone or tablet.
- Turn on your network player.
- On your smartphone, go to Settings and connect to the "Softap" Wi-Fi network (appears a few minutes after turning on the player).
- Launch the ATOLL Signature application.
- In Settings / Network configuration / Wireless configuration / Scan, select your internet box and enter the Wi-Fi password.
- Reconnect your smartphone to your internet box's Wi-Fi network.
A symbol indicates that the wireless link is established or Softap is available.
