Choose faceplate

Select the appropriate faceplate for your door preparation (either for a standard latch or a drive-in latch).

Set the latch backset

Your latch is set for a 2-3/8" backset. To adjust to 2-3/4", rotate the drive-in collar 180 degrees. The diagram shows the latch with the drive-in collar and the two backset options (2-3/8" and 2-3/4").

Install the latch

Insert the latch into the edge of the door. Ensure it is flush with the door edge. Secure the latch with screws (CC). For drive-in latches, a wood block (not included) may be used to tap the latch flush.

You must use the latch provided in the packaging.

Install strike plate in door jamb

Position the strike plate (H) in the door jamb. Ensure it is properly aligned and clear so the bolt can move freely. Insert screws (CC) and tighten to secure the strike plate.

Check the strike plate to make sure it is properly aligned and clear so the bolt can freely move in the hole.

Step 2: Install Electronic Deadbolt

Fasten the mounting plate to door

Position the mounting plate (D) on the interior side of the door. The bulged part of the mounting plate must face towards the door. Slide the cable (B) through the notch in the mounting plate. Keep the mounting plate parallel to the door edge. Secure the mounting plate with mounting bolts (AA).

Do NOT leave the key in the cylinder during installation.

Installing the lock assemblies

Hold onto the cylinder during installation. Rotate the torque blade (C) to fit into the latch. The cable (B) goes underneath the latch. Connect the cable (B) firmly into the connector port on the interior assembly (E). The cable must be arranged as shown in the diagram.

Install the interior assembly (E) onto the mounting plate. Keep the thumbturn in the vertical position. Slide up the battery cover (F) to expose the battery case. Insert four alkaline batteries (N) for better performance. Secure the interior assembly with screws (BB).

How to prep a new door for installation

Check Dimensions

Ensure your door has the correct hole sizes for installation. Standard door preparation typically requires a 2-1/8" (54 mm) cross bore and a 1" (25 mm) edge bore. The backset for the latch can be 2-3/8" (60 mm) or 2-3/4" (70 mm).

The document provides diagrams illustrating these dimensions and a template for marking the door.

Drill Door For New Installation

Cut out the provided TEMPLATE and use it to mark the door. Drill holes as indicated. Drill from both sides of the door to prevent wood splitting.

The diagram shows a centerline and hole placements for the cross bore (2-1/8" or 1-1/2") and edge bore (1"). It also indicates the depth of the latch hole for both 2-3/8" (3-7/16") and 2-3/4" (3-13/16") backsets.

Chisel out the mortise for the faceplate and strike plate to ensure they fit flush with the door edge and jamb, respectively. The strike plate dimensions are also provided.

If your door already has holes, skip to Step 1.

WARNING: If the door needs to be drilled, be familiar with how to use a drill safely and understand all door preparation steps before proceeding.

Tools Required (Optional): Drill
