Quick Start Guide

Product Overview

This document provides instructions for the INSTEON Dimmer Module 2457D2, a device designed to control lighting in a smart home environment.

Module Features

The INSTEON Dimmer Module 2457D2 features:

On Status LED: Illuminates green when the connected lamp is on, and red when off.
Brighten Control: Button or touch area to increase light intensity.
Dim Control: Button or touch area to decrease light intensity.
Set Button: Used for linking the module to the INSTEON Hub and other network functions.

Installation

Step 1: Connect the Module

Plug your lamp into the bottom receptacle of the INSTEON Dimmer Module. Then, plug the Dimmer Module itself into an unswitched wall outlet.

Step 2: Ensure Lamp is ON

For the Dimmer Module to remotely control your lamp, the lamp's physical power switch must be in the 'ON' position. If the lamp's switch is OFF, the Dimmer Module will be unable to turn the lamp on remotely.

Linking to the Hub

Step 1: Add Module via INSTEON Hub App

Follow the on-screen instructions within the INSTEON Hub application to add your Dimmer Module to your smart home network.

Step 2: Initiate Linking on Module

When prompted by the INSTEON Hub application, ensure your lamp is turned on. Then, press and hold the Set Button on the INSTEON Dimmer Module until the linking process is confirmed.

Device Control

Once linked, you can control your INSTEON Dimmer Module through the INSTEON Hub and its associated mobile application. This allows you to:

Dim and brighten your connected lights.
Set schedules for automatic lighting control.
Create custom scenes that include the Dimmer Module.
