Televes dCSS NevoSwitch 5 Inputs - 4 Outputs
The Televes dCSS NevoSwitch is an advanced multiswitch designed for efficient satellite signal distribution. It features 5 inputs, including one for terrestrial signals and four for satellite polarities, and provides 4 user outputs compatible with dCSS and dSCR standards (EN50494, EN50607) as well as legacy mode.
Key Features and Benefits
- Supports up to 16 user bands per output.
- Compact design made of zamak for durability.
- Features DCFLEX functionality, allowing flexible powering options from the power supply or the cascade via satellite inputs/outputs.
- Easy integration into existing systems, with options for local powering without affecting the cascade.
- Enhances security for connected set-top boxes by isolating them from the cascade power supply.
- Includes a TERR.DC ON switch to manage terrestrial branch power, useful for mast amplifiers or BOSS antennas.
- Operates within a wide voltage range (10 V to 20 V) for compatibility with most systems.
- ECO mode allows for zero power consumption when set-top boxes are disconnected.
- Equipped with TForce technology for automatic adjustment of terrestrial output levels.
- Compatible with other NevoSwitch series multiswitches and IRS systems.
- Offers versatile cascade and independent configurations with a single unit.
- Features input and output color identification for easy setup.
- Boasts European design, quality, and manufacturing standards.
dCSS Technology Explained
dCSS (Digital Channel Stacking Switch) technology is an evolution of SCR (Satellite Channel Router) technology. SCR allows the distribution of satellite signals to multiple users over a single coaxial cable. The dCSS standard, defined by EN50607, significantly improves upon the earlier EN50494 standard by increasing the number of user bands to 32 per cable, effectively allowing the distribution of the entire satellite band. This technology is backwards compatible with SCR.
dCSS can be used in various scenarios, including individual and communal distribution, in both dynamic and static operation modes. The static mode is particularly flexible and cost-effective for headends. Furthermore, dCSS can be combined with optical fiber to extend the reach of satellite distribution systems.
This technology represents a significant advancement in distributing satellite signals over a single coaxial cable, facilitating the widespread adoption of new reception devices like Home Gateways and PVRs, which are key for satellite operators.
