  • This appliance is intended exclusively for cooling living spaces in households.
  • Do not use the appliance unattended. Always switch it off when leaving the room.
  • Do not twist, buckle, or snap the power supply cable.
  • Do not use the appliance with wet hands or outdoors.
  • Never cover the appliance.
  • Keep a minimum distance of 50 cm from combustible substances and avoid direct sunlight.
  • Place the appliance on a solid and even support surface.
  • Never insert fingers or other objects into the appliance, and ensure air entry and outlet are not blocked.
  • Change the water regularly and do not fill the tank beyond the MAX mark.
  • Keep cool packs away from children and animals. Do not attempt to open them.
  • Switch off and unplug the appliance before cleaning or when not in use.
  • Do not use benzene, alcohol, or solvents for cleaning.
  • Store the appliance in a safe, dry place inaccessible to children when not in use.

Description of the Appliance

The BE COOL BCOSZ5AC2201 air cooler features:

  • Control panel

Before Using the Appliance for the First Time

Unpacking the Appliance

  • Open the carton and take out the appliance.
  • Remove all packaging.
  • Unwind the mains cable completely, ensuring it is not damaged.

Installation

  • Place the appliance on a level and solid surface.
  • Ensure a minimum 50 cm gap to walls or other objects.
  • Keep the air inlet and air outlet grilles clear of obstacles.
  • Connect the appliance to an earthed outlet.

Filling the Water Tank

  1. Ensure the rubber plug at the water outlet is firmly inserted.
  2. Fill the water tank on top of the appliance with clean water.
  3. Observe the MIN and MAX marks for the water level. The tank must be filled above MIN for the pump to function and not over MAX to prevent damage to electronic parts.
  4. Wipe the exterior of the water tank dry if it is damp.
  5. Close the cover again.

Operation

The control panel includes the following functions:

  • ON/OFF: Turns the appliance on and off.
  • LOW: Low fan speed.
  • MEDIUM: Medium fan speed.
  • HIGH: High fan speed.
  • SWING: Activates/deactivates oscillation.
  • COOL: Starts the cooling function. Ensure the water level is above MIN. The appliance pumps water through the filter to create cold, humid air.

Cool Packs

Use the included cool packs for enhanced cooling:

  • Fill cool packs with water up to the MAX mark.
  • Freeze cool packs for at least 3-4 hours before use.
  • Place the frozen cool packs in the compartment on top of the appliance.

Tips for Correct Application

  • Protect the room from direct sunlight using curtains or shutters to save energy.
  • Do not place objects on the appliance or obscure the air outlet.
  • Keep air inlet and outlet grilles clear.
  • Ensure no heat sources are operating in the room.
  • Do not use the appliance in very humid rooms or outdoors.
  • Ensure the appliance is on level flooring with locking brakes applied.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Cleaning Cover Grille

  1. Switch off and unplug the appliance.
  2. Remove the 2 screws on the cover grille and detach it.
  3. Use a vacuum cleaner to remove dust.
  4. For stubborn dirt, wash in warm water (not exceeding 40°C) and rinse.
  5. Allow the grille to dry completely before reattaching.
  6. Reattach the cover grille securely.
  7. Note: Never use the appliance without the cover grille.

Cleaning the Housing

  1. Switch off and unplug the appliance.
  2. Clean the appliance with a moderately damp cloth and wipe dry with a dry cloth.
  3. Do not use benzene, alcohol, or solvents. Do not spray insecticides.

Emptying the Water Tank

It is recommended to empty and clean the water tank every 2-3 weeks:

  • Unplug the appliance.
  • Place a container under the water outlet.
  • Remove the cover and allow the water to drain. Gently tilt the appliance if necessary (max 30°).
  • Reattach the cover securely.
  • Plug in and restart the appliance.

Activities at the Beginning/End of the Season

End of Season

  • Switch off and disconnect the mains plug.
  • Empty and clean the water tank.
  • Clean the cover grille and reinsert after drying.
  • Pack away the appliance in a cool, dry place.

Beginning of Season

  • Verify the power supply cable and earthing are functional.
  • Follow installation and safety instructions carefully.

Troubleshooting

Warranty

BE COOL offers a 2-year warranty from the date of purchase, valid in Austria. This warranty covers free repairs or replacement at the discretion of Schuss Home Electronic GmbH. It does not cover improper use, normal wear and tear, damage from failure to follow instructions, commercial use, mechanical damage, or damage caused by force majeure.

For warranty claims, present the proof of purchase and the warranty certificate. Service work performed by unauthorized workshops will void the warranty.

A fixed charge of €60 may apply for operating errors or if no fault is detected.
