READ THE USER MANUAL CAREFULLY BEFORE STARTING INSTALLATION, OPERATION, OR MAINTENANCE. PROTECT YOURSELF AND OTHERS BY FOLLOWING THE SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS. FAILURE TO FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS MAY RESULT IN PERSONAL AND/OR PROPERTY DAMAGE AND/OR LOSS OF WARRANTY!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING SAFETY, LOCATION, AND ELECTRICAL CONNECTION.

Use this appliance only according to the guidelines in the user manual. Any other use not recommended by the manufacturer could lead to burns, electric shock, or personal injury.

  1. This appliance is intended exclusively for cooling living spaces in households and must not be used for any other purpose.
  2. The appliance is not suitable for continuous and precision operation and should not be used for cooling electrical systems (e.g., in server rooms).
  3. Remove the packaging and ensure the appliance is not damaged. If in doubt, do not use the appliance and contact the service center or your dealer.
  4. If the appliance is defective, switch it off and contact your dealer or the customer hotline.
  5. If the power supply cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or an authorized service center to avoid all possible risks.
  6. Always contact only manufacturer-authorized service centers for any repairs. You can find the customer service centers online at www.becool.at.
  7. Before connecting to the mains, check that the type of current and mains voltage match the specifications on the appliance's rating plate.
  8. The electrical socket into which you plug the appliance must not be defective or loose, and must be suitable for the required current load and, above all, reliably earthed. If in doubt, have your electrical installation checked by a qualified electrician.
  9. Avoid using an extension cord, as it could overheat and cause a fire.
  10. It is forbidden to adapt or modify the characteristics of this appliance in any way, and only use spare and accessory parts recommended by the manufacturer (failure to do so will result in the loss of warranty and guarantee).
  11. Children must not play with the appliance.
  12. Do not let children play with the packaging – THERE IS A RISK OF SUFFOCATION FROM SWALLOWING SMALL PARTS!
  13. Children under 8 years of age and persons with limited physical, sensory, or mental abilities, as well as lack of experience and knowledge, may only use this appliance if it is under appropriate supervision and has received detailed instructions on how to use the appliance safely, and the existing hazards have been described.
  14. Do not operate the appliance unattended. If you leave the room, always switch off the appliance.
  15. Do not twist or kink the power cord.
  16. Do not use the appliance with wet hands.
  17. Do not use the appliance outdoors.
  18. Never cover the appliance.
  19. Do not operate the appliance in rooms where gas, oil, or sulfur is present.
  20. Do not use the appliance near water or high humidity, e.g., in damp basements, next to swimming pools, bathtubs, or showers. Ensure that no water enters the appliance.
  21. Do not place the appliance near heat sources (e.g., next to heating systems) and avoid direct sunlight.
  22. Maintain a minimum distance of at least 50 cm from flammable materials (e.g., alcohol) or pressurized containers (e.g., spray cans).
  23. Do not place heavy or hot objects on the appliance.
  24. Place the appliance on a stable and level surface.
  25. Never insert fingers, pens, or other objects into the appliance and ensure that the air inlet and outlet are never blocked.
  26. Change the water regularly.
  27. Always fill the water tank above the MIN and never above the MAX.
  28. Do not move the appliance quickly when there is water in the water tank to avoid leakage or splashing.
  29. Do not use the appliance in the "COOL" mode for a long time in a closed area without ventilation to avoid high humidity.
  30. The cooling packs are not toys – keep children and animals away from them.
  31. Never attempt to open the cooling packs. The liquid inside can be harmful to health.
  32. Unplug the appliance and empty the water tank when not in use.
  33. Always switch off the appliance before unplugging it.
  34. Do not pull on the power cord to disconnect the appliance from the mains. Always pull on the plug to remove the power cord.
  35. Do not touch the plug with wet hands to avoid electric shock.
  36. Store the appliance upright in a safe, dry place inaccessible to children when not in use, and do not cover the appliance with plastic packaging.
  37. Keep the appliance in good condition by maintaining and cleaning it. If you have any questions about maintenance, you can contact the manufacturer-authorized customer hotline/service center.

Recycling

The packaging materials can be recycled. Therefore, it is recommended to dispose of them in sorted waste.

Disposal

The symbol of a crossed-out trash can requires separate disposal of electrical and electronic waste equipment (WEEE). Electrical and electronic equipment may contain hazardous and environmentally harmful substances. Therefore, do not dispose of it in unsorted residual waste, but at a designated collection point for electrical and electronic waste equipment. This contributes to the protection of resources and the environment. For further information, please contact your dealer or local authorities.

Unpacking the Appliance

Installation

Please observe the following points during installation:

Filling the Water Tank

  1. First, check on the back of the appliance whether the rubber plug is firmly inserted into the water outlet and seals it, so that the water tank cannot leak unintentionally.
  2. Fill the water tank on the top of the appliance. Open the cover at the top of the appliance and pour clean water into it, paying attention to the fill level on the front of the water tank:
    • MIN mark: The water tank must be filled above the MIN mark for the pump to function correctly.
    • MAX mark: The water tank must not be filled above the MAX mark, as water could otherwise enter the appliance and damage electronic parts.
  3. Ensure that the air cooler is not damp or wet on the outside and wipe it dry if necessary.
  4. Close the cover again.

Operation

  1. ON/OFF: Switches the appliance on and off.
  2. LOW: Low fan speed setting.
  3. MEDIUM: Medium fan speed setting.
  4. HIGH: High fan speed setting.
  5. SWING: Use the SWING button to activate the oscillation of the appliance. Pressing the SWING button again deactivates the function.
  6. COOL Button: Use the COOL button to start the cooling function. Ensure that the water level indicator is above MIN. As soon as you press the button, the appliance starts pumping water onto the water filter to create cold and humid air, which is then blown out of the appliance.

Cooling Packs

You will receive two cooling packs with the scope of delivery, which you can place in the water tank on the top of the appliance to achieve a further cooling effect. Please observe the following when using the cooling packs:

Tips for Correct Use

Here are some tips to achieve optimal performance from the air cooler:

Maintenance and Cleaning

Cleaning the Grille Cover

To ensure efficient operation of the air cooler, you should clean the grille cover after each week of operation.

  1. Switch off the appliance before cleaning, wait a few minutes, and then unplug the power cord to disconnect the appliance from the mains.
  2. Use a screwdriver to remove the 2 retaining screws on the grille cover and remove the grille cover from the appliance.
  3. Use a vacuum cleaner to remove dust accumulated in the grille cover.
  4. If the grille cover is very dirty, immerse it in warm water and rinse it several times – however, the water temperature should not exceed 40°C.
  5. After washing, let the grille cover dry thoroughly before reinstalling it in the appliance.
  6. Reattach the grille cover and secure it with the retaining screws.

Note: Never use the appliance without the grille cover.

Cleaning the Housing

Switch off the appliance before cleaning, wait a few minutes, and then unplug the power cord to disconnect the appliance from the mains.

Clean the appliance with a slightly damp cloth and then wipe it dry with a dry cloth.

Emptying the Water Tank

It is recommended to empty and clean the water tank every 2-3 weeks during use. Please follow these steps:

Before contacting our customer hotline/service center, please check if the problem can be resolved using the following tips.

Warranty

With this quality product from BE COOL, you have made a decision for innovation, durability, and reliability.

For this BE COOL appliance, we grant a warranty period of 2 years from the date of purchase, valid in Austria!

Should, against expectations, service work be necessary on your appliance during this period, we hereby guarantee you a free repair (spare parts and labor) or (at the discretion of Schuss) replacement of the product. If neither repair nor replacement is possible for economic reasons, we reserve the right to issue a time-value credit. In the case of air conditioners, please always contact the customer hotline as a first step (see sticker on the appliance or the title page of the user manual); for fans, contact your specialist dealer or us directly. We point out that repair work not carried out by the authorized contract workshop in Austria will immediately void this warranty.

Not covered by this warranty:

We strongly point out that in case of operating errors or if no error is found within the warranty period, a flat fee of €60,- (indexed base CPI 2010, June 2015) will be charged.

By providing warranty service (repair or replacement of the appliance), the absolute warranty period of 2 years from the date of purchase is not extended.

The 2-year warranty is only valid upon presentation of the proof of purchase (must include the dealer's name and address and the complete appliance designation) and the corresponding warranty certificate, on which the appliance type and serial number (visible on the carton and on the back or bottom of the appliance) must be noted! Without presentation of the warranty certificate, only the statutory warranty applies!

We expressly point out that the statutory warranty rights are not affected by this warranty and continue to exist undiminished. Liability for damages on the part of Schuss Home Electronic GmbH and its vicarious agents exists only in cases of gross negligence or intent. Liability for lost profits, expected but unrealized savings, consequential damages, and damages arising from third-party claims is excluded in any case. Damage to or for recorded data is always excluded from liability for damages.
