Assembly Instructions
Front Wheel Installation
Before use, the front wheel, rear wheels, fender, and parent tray must be installed.
Attaching the Front Wheel:
- Remove the fold latch from the right side. Lean the stroller backward so it rests on the handle and rear axle frame, with the front wheel forks pointing upward (See Figure 1).
- Slide the front wheel housings onto the front fork (See Figure 2). If preassembled, skip to step 5.
- Ensure the front fork clicks into place in the front wheel housings (See Figure 3). The snap buttons must pop all the way out. NEVER use the jogger if the snap buttons are not clicked into place.
- To remove the front wheel, press the tabs inside the front wheel housings to detach the front forks from the wheel (See Figure 4).
Testing Front Wheel Installation:
⚠️ ALWAYS check the Snap Button locking system before each use to ensure the front wheel is securely fastened.
- Lift the front wheel off the ground and strike the top of the tire firmly (See Figure 5). The wheel should not be loose or come off.
- If you experience front wheel wobble, you may need to adjust the front wheel housing nut, located under the footrest at the front of the jogger (See Figure 6). Use a standard crescent wrench to tighten the nut. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN, as this can cause damage to the wheel housing.
Fender Installation
Refer to step 7 for replacement purposes.
- Examine the bottom of the front fender. You will find four 1/4 inch diameter plastic tubes protruding from the bottom (See Figure 7a).
- Line up these tubes with the holes in the front frame assembly (See Figure 7b).
- Align the front fender and press it onto the front frame assembly (See Figure 7c).
- Insert 4 screws through the underside of the front frame assembly into the fender's plastic tubes. Tighten screws until snug. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN.
Rear Wheel Installation
- Lean the stroller forward onto the front wheel. To attach the rear wheels, push each wheel's axle into the plastic corner fitting (See Figure 8). Depress the metal lever on the inside of the corner fitting while pushing the axle. When the wheel won't go further, release the lever. Check that the wheel is locked by pulling on it. If not locked, lift the lever, push the wheel further, and release the lever.
- Ensure wheels are firmly locked. NEVER use the stroller if wheels are not locked. Contact customer service at 1-800-328-7363 if assistance is needed.
Parent Tray with LED Lights
Battery Installation:
- Two AAA batteries are required on each side of the parent tray.
- To open the battery slot, unscrew and slide the lid from the underside. Lift the lid to insert two AAA batteries (See Figure 9a).
- Repeat for the other side (See Figure 9b). Secure and screw the lid closed (See Figure 9c).
- Test the on/off button to activate the LED lights on each side (See Figure 9d).
- NOTE: 1st push - Fast Blink, 2nd push - Slow Blink, 3rd push - Constant ON, 4th push - OFF.
Attaching the Parent Tray:
- Align the fittings on the ends of the parent tray with the fittings on the outside of the handle. Hook the hole in the parent tray. Pull outward on the opposite end while pushing down on the tray until it locks onto the stroller handle. Be careful not to pinch your fingers (See Figure 9e).
- To remove the parent tray, pull outward on one end while lifting upward (See Figure 9f).
- Refer to Figure 9g for the activation button.
LED lights will turn off automatically after one hour of usage.
Canopy Installation
- Insert the canopy into the stroller frame, ensuring both sides click in (See Figure 10a).
- Check the following steps (See Figures 10b and 10c) to ensure all installations are correct. Adjust only if needed.
- Wrap the elastic around the stroller frame to secure it. Attach the hook and loop fasteners on both sides of the canopy (See Figure 10b).
- Use the buttons to attach the straps to the rear of the seat fabric (See Figure 10c).
Opening/Closing the Canopy:
- To open: Pull forward on the front edge of the canopy.
- To close: Push backward on the front edge towards the handle (See Figure 10d).
Child Tray Installation
- To attach the child tray: Push the angled tray onto the post at the end of the right armrest. Press downward on the snap button until it locks into place (See Figure 11a).
- Rotate the tray downward until latched onto the left armrest. Ensure the snap button comes through and securely latches the tray (See Figure 11b).
Accessing/Removing the Child Tray:
- To access the child seat: Press inward on the left side tray release button and rotate the tray upward (See Figure 12a).
- To remove the child tray: Press the release button, rotate the tray 180 degrees, and pull it until released (See Figure 12b).
Seatback Positioning
To recline the seat, press the adjustment tabs and pull down while holding the hoop. To place the seat in an upright position, hold the hoop and push the adjustment upward. The strap will lock automatically (See Figure 13).
The upright position should be used only for a child at least 6 months old. Always readjust the safety harness, including shoulder belts, when repositioning the seatback.
Infant Car Seat Installation
Compatibility: CS02 EZ-Lift PLUS Infant Car Seat must attach to the module of the stroller's front seat.
Installation:
- From the rear side of the stroller, engage both car seat support tabs (See Figure 14a).
- Align the car seat module with the inner frame connectors. Rest the car seat's lower rear against the angle point of the tray. Latch the module into the stroller frame. Press down firmly until it clicks.
- ALWAYS ensure the car seat is properly connected and locked by lifting up on the car seat handle before each use (See Figure 14b).
Removing the Car Seat:
- Set the handle to the carry position (See Figure 14c).
- Squeeze the release handle located at the top-rear of the car seat and lift away from the stroller (See Figure 14d).
Safety Features and Usage
Brakes
To engage brakes, apply light downward pressure to the brake lever on each rear wheel. You may need to move the stroller slightly forward or backward to align the brake teeth with the wheel brake cluster (See Figure 15). Check that both brakes are properly applied and the stroller does not move. To release, gently lift the brake lever.
Front Wheel Lock
⚠️ WARNING: Always lock the front swivel wheel in the STRAIGHT position before placing or removing children.
⚠️ FALL HAZARD: To prevent tip-over before running, jogging, or walking fast, lock the front wheel from swiveling.
The swivel jogger has a front wheel locking device that works vertically to lock and unlock the wheel (See Figure 16).
Securing the Child
⚠️ WARNING: Avoid serious injury from falling or sliding out. Always use the safety harness.
The 5-point harness has 3 attachment positions. Select the position that places the shoulder strap level with, or below, the child's shoulder (See Figure 17a).
Place the child in the seat. Bring the safety harness around the child's waist and over the shoulders. Place the crotch strap between the child's legs. Insert the male ends of the shoulder/waist belts into the crotch strap buckle. Tighten the harness snugly around the child's waist and over their shoulders (See Figure 17b).
To Release the Child: Push the button on the center clasp; the two harness buckles will pop free (See Figure 18).
Unhook shoulder straps only if adjusting harness positions (See Figure 19).
Folding the Stroller
⚠️ WARNING: Be careful when folding to prevent finger entrapment.
⚠️ CAUTION: Do not allow children near the stroller while folding.
- Close the canopy and recline the seat as described previously.
- Fold the stroller by simultaneously pulling each trigger fold (See Figure 20a). When fold latches release, the handle will lower. Release the fold buttons and press down on the stroller handle until completely folded.
- Secure the folded stroller by locking the fold latch on the right side over the frame rivet (See Figure 20b).
Unfolding the Stroller
⚠️ WARNING: Be careful when unfolding to prevent finger entrapment.
⚠️ CAUTION: Do not allow children near the stroller while unfolding.
- Stand the stroller with all three wheels on the ground. Remove the fold latch on the right side (See Figure 22a).
- Lift the stroller handle with both hands until the frame erects and locks open (See Figure 22b). The frame has spring-loaded latches on both sides.
- NOTE: Test that both latches are fully engaged before placing your child in the stroller.
Jogging with Your Stroller
⚠️ WARNING: Never jog or run with your newborn in the car seat position. Use for strolling only.
⚠️ STRANGULATION HAZARD! Children have strangled when straps have wrapped around their neck. When not in use, hook the tether strap onto the stroller handle. Keep this tether strap out of children's reach.
When jogging:
- LOCK THE FRONT SWIVEL WHEEL IN THE STRAIGHT POSITION.
- SAFETY WRIST STRAP: Always connect the safety strap to either wrist when jogging. This strap helps prevent the stroller from rolling away if you trip (See Figure 21a). The safety strap must remain connected to the rear lower frame cross member. This prevents the stroller from tipping backward if you fall. The strap includes a Velcro attachment for storage when not in use (See Figure 21b).
Maintenance
Wheel Adjustment
Three-wheel vehicles can deviate from a straight line due to factors like improper wheel installation, road conditions, or manufacturing tolerances. If your Baby Trend stroller pulls significantly to the left or right on flat terrain, follow the instructions on page 10 to realign the front wheel.
