Product Overview

A green drone with tank treads on the sides, featuring four propellers. This device is designed for flying and driving, controlled via a smartphone or tablet app.

DANGER

• Do not use while bathing or in a shower.
• Do not place or store unit where it can fall or be pulled into a tub or sink.
• Do not place in, drop, or submerge in water or other liquid.
• Do not reach for unit that has fallen into water; unplug it immediately.

• Unplug this unit during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.

• Protect the charging cable from being walked on or pinched, particularly at plug outlets, convenience receptacles, and the point where it exits the unit.
• Do not allow the charging cable to touch hot surfaces. Wrap cord loosely around the unit when storing.
• The unit should be situated away from direct sunlight or heat sources such as radiators, electric heaters, heat registers, stoves, or other units (including amplifiers) that produce heat. Avoid placing on top of stereo equipment that radiates heat.
• Never block the air openings of the unit with materials such as clothing, plastic bags, or papers, or place it on a soft surface such as a bed or couch, where the air openings may be blocked.
• Do not carry this unit by cord or use cord as a handle.
• Never operate this unit if it has a damaged cable, if it is not working properly, or if it has been dropped or damaged, or dropped into water. If the unit's charging cable or plug is damaged, do not attempt to fix it yourself.
• To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not disassemble or attempt to repair the unit. Incorrect repair can cause risk of electric shock or injury to persons when the unit is used.
• Do not operate in the presence of explosive and/or flammable fumes.

DRONE WARNINGS

• The drone's blades revolve at high speeds and can cause damage to the user, spectators, and animals. Stand away from the drone to reduce the risk of getting into the flight path and always maintain visual contact with the drone while flying.
• Warn spectators that you will be flying your drone so that they are aware of its position.
• Before flight, inspect the rotor blades to make certain that the blades are securely fastened to the drone. Do not use if there is any damage that impacts flight characteristics.
• Before flying, check your local laws and regulations pertaining to drone usage, particularly around airports.
• Operating the drone in a wide-open space is recommended. The ideal space should have a 200-foot radius, without buildings, crowds, or electrical power lines.
• Do not fly near tall buildings, high voltage cables, or other places that produce signal interference. Signal interruptions may result in accidents.
• Parental guidance or adult supervision is suggested at all times.
• If you are flying the drone with others, make sure all spectators are behind you and at least 6 feet from the drone.
• For best performance, it is recommended that you operate the drone in zero or light wind conditions, as wind can greatly affect the performance of the aircraft.
• Record responsibly. Respect the privacy of individuals when recording video or taking photos with the drone.
• Obtain permission from individuals before circulating videos or photos taken with the drone.

CAUTION: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FLY THE DRONE IF THERE IS RAIN, SNOW, HEAVY WINDS, THUNDER OR LIGHTNING OUTDOORS. IT COULD DAMAGE YOUR PRODUCT AND MAY CAUSE BODILY HARM.

Li-Po Battery Warning

This device contains a Lithium-Polymer battery. The battery must be recycled or disposed of properly. Contact your local waste management office for information on battery recycling or disposal.

• Use only the supplied cable to recharge the battery. Improper charging may damage the battery and the device.
• Do not attempt to open the rechargeable battery or battery pack. There are no serviceable parts inside.
• Keep the battery out of reach of children. If swallowed, consult a physician immediately.
• Do not expose the battery to high temperatures or dispose of battery in a fire as it may explode. The battery may also explode if damaged.

Charging the Drone's Battery

The Flying Tank Drone includes a rechargeable Lithium-Polymer battery. Charge the battery before first use.

To charge the drone's battery:

1. Connect the charging cable to the Charging Terminal on the battery, ensuring that the pins align properly. (You do not have to remove the battery from the Battery Compartment to charge the battery.)
2. Insert the charging cable's USB connector into a USB port on an active device, such as a computer, USB adapter, or power bank. The LED in the charging cable is red while charging. The LED turns off when fully charged.
3. When fully charged, disconnect the charging cable.

WARNING: Do not operate the drone when the battery charge is low. The battery may be damaged and may no longer accept a charge. Land the drone immediately and recharge the battery.

Downloading and Starting the Flying Tank App

You control your drone from your smartphone or tablet using the Flying Tank app. To download the app for iOS® devices, visit the App Store®; to download the app for Android™ devices visit the Google Play™ store. Search for and install FLYING TANK.

Starting the App:

1. Ensure that the battery has been fully charged and inserted into the battery compartment on the underside of the drone.
2. Attach the two ends of the Power Connector. The drone's lights will blink rapidly. If you will be operating the drone in Land Mode, tuck the Power Connector into the body cavity to protect the wires.
3. Place the drone on a flat surface.
4. On your device, open the WiFi settings page and select FLYING TANK. This establishes the connection between your drone and your device. (If the FLYING TANK option is not available, ensure that the drone's battery is charged and the two ends of the Power Connector are attached.)
5. From your device's app menu, select the FLYING TANK app. The app's Home Screen displays.
6. The Home Screen lists three options:
   • Tap Controls to begin flying or driving your drone.
   • Tap Setup for instructions for setting up and using the Flying Tank.
   • Tap Settings to save or reset your parameters, and to switch between left-hand and right-hand mode. The default is left-hand mode.

The Controls Screen

The Controls screen of the FLYING TANK app allows you to control your drone.

• Show/Hide Controls: Toggle the visibility of on-screen controls.
• Headless Mode: Button to activate/deactivate Headless Mode.
• Left/Right Hand Mode Switch: Options for control layout (Direction/Throttle).
• Trim Controls: Adjustments for Forward/Backward, Left/Right, and Left/Right Rotate to ensure stable flight.
• Throttle: Controls altitude and yaw (nose left/right).
• Direction: Controls forward/backward movement.

WARNING! Practice controlling your drone in an area that is free of obstacles, buildings, power lines, people, pets, vehicles, or anything that might be damaged should you lose control of your drone. Allow ample practice time before using your drone in more challenging environments.

Using the Controls

Use the following controls to fly, drive, or take pictures and videos with the Flying Tank.

Replacing Damaged Rotor Blades

The drone has four rotor blades: two that turn clockwise (A) and two that turn counterclockwise (B). Four replacement rotor blades are included with your drone: two type A and two type B.

If a rotor blade becomes damaged, replace it by removing the damaged blade and replacing it with a new blade of the same type.

Troubleshooting

Care and Maintenance

• Clean with a soft, damp cloth.
• Do not use harsh cleaning agents.
• Do not submerge in water or other liquids.
• Check components regularly, such as the rotor blades, chassis, and motors. If any component is damaged or worn, do not use the drone until the component has been repaired or replaced.
• Check the drone's battery charge regularly. When storing, ensure that the battery is partially charged. Do not store the battery in a fully charged or discharged state.

Specifications

One (1) Year Limited Warranty

Brookstone® warrants this product against defects in materials and/or workmanship under normal use for a period of ONE (1) YEAR from the date of purchase by the original purchaser (“Warranty Period”). If a defect arises and a valid claim is received within the Warranty Period, at its option, Brookstone will either 1) repair the defect at no charge, using new or refurbished replacement parts, or 2) replace the product with a new product that is at least functionally equivalent to the original product, or 3) provide a store credit in the amount of the purchase price of the original product.

A replacement product or part, including a user-installable part installed in accordance with instructions provided by Brookstone, assumes the remaining warranty of the original product. When a product or part is exchanged, any replacement item becomes your property and the replaced item becomes Brookstone's property. When a store credit is given, the original product must be returned to Brookstone and becomes Brookstone's property.

Obtaining Service: To obtain warranty service, call Brookstone Limited Warranty Service at 1-800-292-9819. Please be prepared to describe the product that needs service and the nature of the problem. A purchase receipt is required. All repairs and replacements must be authorized in advance. Service options, parts availability, and response times will vary. You are responsible for delivery and the cost of delivery of the product or any parts to the authorized service center for replacement, per our instructions.

Limits and Exclusions: Coverage under this Limited Warranty is limited to the United States of America, including the District of Columbia and the U.S. Territories of Guam, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. This Limited Warranty applies only to products manufactured for Brookstone that can be identified by the “Brookstone” trademark, trade name, or logo affixed to them or their packaging. The Limited Warranty does not apply to any non-Brookstone products. Manufacturers or suppliers other than Brookstone may provide their own warranties to the purchaser, but Brookstone, in so far as permitted by law, provides these products “as is.”

This warranty does not apply to:

• damage caused by failure to follow instructions relating to product's use or the installation of components;
• damage caused by accident, abuse, misuse, fire, floods, earthquake, or other external causes;
• damage caused by service performed by anyone who is not a representative of Brookstone;
• accessories used in conjunction with a covered product;
• a product or part that has been modified to alter functionality or capability;
• items intended to be periodically replaced by the purchaser during the normal life of the product, including, without limitation, batteries or light bulbs;
• any product sold “as is,” including, without limitation, floor demonstration models and refurbished items; or
• a product that is used commercially or for a commercial purpose.

BROOKSTONE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES RESULTING FROM THE USE OF THIS PRODUCT, OR ARISING OUT OF ANY BREACH OF THIS WARRANTY. TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, BROOKSTONE DISCLAIMS ANY AND ALL STATUTORY OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND WARRANTIES AGAINST HIDDEN OR LATENT DEFECTS. IF BROOKSTONE CANNOT LAWFULLY DISCLAIM STATUTORY OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES, THEN TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ALL SUCH WARRANTIES SHALL BE LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE DURATION OF THIS EXPRESS WARRANTY.

Some states disallow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages or how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above exclusions or limitations may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights, which vary from state to state.
