Safety First: Preventing Tip-Over Accidents

WARNING: Serious or fatal crushing injuries can occur from furniture tip-over. ALWAYS secure this furniture to the wall using the provided tip-over restraints.

To further reduce the risk of serious injury and death from tip-overs:

• Place the heaviest items in the lower drawer.
• Do not set TVs or other heavy objects on top of this product.
• Never let children climb or hang on drawers, doors, or shelves.

This warning is provided in multiple languages to ensure safety for all users.

Assembly Steps

Follow these steps carefully to assemble your IKEA MALM dressing table. Ensure you have all parts before beginning.

Step 1: Attach the main support screws (114334) to the underside of the tabletop using the provided tool (113453). Ensure they are securely fastened.

Step 2: Attach the drawer slides (118250) to the side panels using screws (100349). Ensure the slides are oriented correctly.

Step 3: Insert wooden dowels (101353) into the corresponding holes on the side panels and the base panel. Attach the side panels to the base panel.

Step 4: Secure the side panels to the base using screws (114254) and cam locks (122998). Ensure the cam locks are turned to secure the connection.

Step 5: Attach the remaining side panel using screws (153548).

Step 6: Attach the wall mounting brackets (106989) to the back of the unit using screws (109049) and (100823).

Step 7: Place the tabletop onto the assembled base structure. Ensure it is aligned correctly.

Step 8: Secure the tabletop to the side panels using brackets (10003193) and screws (109558).

Step 9: Attach the drawer front to the drawer box using screws (109560).

Step 10: Insert the assembled drawer into the unit.

Step 11: Final check of all connections.

Step 12: Wall Mounting Instructions

The supplied screws and plugs are suitable for most solid (A) and hollow (B) walls. For solid wood (C), use screws without plugs. If you are uncertain about the correct wall type or fixings, seek professional advice.

• A (Solid Wall): Drill a hole of Ø 8 mm (5/16"), insert the plug, and then screw in the screw.
• B (Hollow Wall): Drill a hole of Ø 8 mm (5/16"), insert the plug, and then screw in the screw.
• C (Solid Wood): Use the screw without a plug. Drill a hole of Ø 3 mm (1/8").

Ensure the furniture is securely attached to the wall to prevent tip-over accidents.
