YASHE Quick Tips
Hot Roasts - Beef, Pork, Lamb, Turkey, Ham
- When slicing boneless roasts, remove them from the oven and let them cool for 15-20 minutes before slicing. This will allow the meat to retain its juices and slice without crumbling.
- Slice the roast, if necessary, to fit the platform.
- Place a sheet of aluminum foil under the platform table to collect juices and crumbs for easy cleanup.
- For a rolled or tied roast, remove the strings one by one as you approach the blade (ensure the unit is off).
Extra Thin Sliced Beef Brisket
- Cool the brisket, previously cooked in its own juices. Before slicing the brisket, drain and save the juice.
- Dry with paper towels. Remove excess fat.
- Slice the cold brisket to the desired thickness. To serve hot, place the slices on a heat-resistant plate and moisten them with some of the reserved juice. Reheat in the oven at 150°C for 30 minutes.
Cheese
- Cut the cheese when it is still fresh.
- Before serving, let the cheese reach room temperature. This will enhance its natural flavor... and perhaps its odor, but we are not responsible ;)
- Some processed cheeses may stick to the blade. If necessary, turn off the appliance, wait for the blade to stop rotating, and remove the cover. Clean the blade with a damp cloth, as moisture helps prevent the blade from sticking.
Bacon
- Cool well before slicing. For some types of smoked bacon, the rind should be removed.
Cold Cuts and Sandwiches
- Cold cuts keep longer and retain their flavor longer if sliced at the right time.
- For best results, let them cool first (we write this often, but it's really better this way).
- Remove plastic or any hard packaging before slicing.
- Apply light, constant pressure for uniform slices.
Fruits and Vegetables
- Slice potatoes to make thick or thin potato chips.
- Slice carrots lengthwise into very thin strips. Immerse them in ice water to make them curl.
- Slice zucchini, eggplant, and squash to your liking. Sliced vegetables are good any way. Just be careful to keep your fingers away from the blade, even when some softer vegetable remains stuck in the blade! ??
Bread, Cakes, and Cookies
- The slicer is effective for stale bread and cakes. Freshly baked bread must be cooled before slicing. Use day-old or slightly cooled bread for very thin slices for toasting. It's a great way to avoid waste!
- The slicer is also ideal for all types of holiday breads, cupcakes, and fruitcakes. For wafer-shaped cookies, refrigerate and then slice as desired.
DO NOT SLICE:
- Frozen foods ?❌
- Meat with bones ?❌
- Foods containing large nuts (even if rare, we know) or seeds (strawberry seeds are fine) ?❌
- Foods in packaging such as foil or plastic film. ??
A LITTLE TIP FOR ALL THOSE SOFT AND DIFFICULT-TO-SLICE FOODS:
Place in the freezer for 2 or 4 hours before cutting: you will see that it is much easier this way! But do not let them freeze completely (see above).
Cleaning and Maintenance
- Unplug the appliance and let it cool. Use a soft, slightly damp cloth to clean the appliance surfaces. Do not allow water or other liquids to enter the appliance.
- REMOVE THE BLADE
- Before removing the blade, unplug the appliance from the power outlet.
- Caution! Never touch the edges of the blades! Ensure the removed blade cannot roll on the table! Keep away from children!
- To remove the blade, press the "button" in the center of the blade: a latch will come out; turn the latch clockwise to unlock the cutting blade.
- After that, you can clean the blade with soap and water, knowing that the blade is also dishwasher safe, although we do not recommend it.
- To reinsert the blade, ensure the blade tabs align with the appliance and insert the blade, then lock the blade by turning the latch counterclockwise.
Cleaning the Guide Rod and Tray
To disassemble the guide rod and tray: on the right side of the rod, there is a tab. Slide the tab to the right, then remove the rod and clean the removed parts.
