Assembly Instructions
Follow these steps to assemble your Vanquish metal detector:
Shaft Assembly
- Step 1: Connect the lower shaft (part 8) to the middle shaft (part 9).
- Step 2: Attach the search coil (part 10) to the lower shaft (part 8).
- Step 3: Connect the middle shaft (part 9) to the upper shaft (part 11).
- Step 4: Securely route the coil cable along the shaft using the provided clips (parts 12-19).
- Step 5: Connect the coil cable to the control box.
Control Box and Shaft Connection
- Step 1: Insert the assembled shaft into the control box housing.
- Step 2: Secure the shaft assembly.
- Step 3: Connect the coil cable to the control box.
Quick Start Guide
- Turn On: Press the power button.
- Wait: Allow the detector approximately 5 seconds to initialize.
- Start Detecting: Begin your metal detecting adventure.
Search Modes
The Vanquish series offers several search modes tailored for different targets:
- Coins: Designed to find coins from around the world while effectively ignoring common trash items. Ideal for use in parks and on beaches.
- Artifacts: Optimized for locating old relics and artifacts buried deep within fields and forests.
- Jewelry: Assists in finding precious jewelry, regardless of where it may have been lost.
- Custom: Enables you to create and save your own personalized search mode, helping to minimize unwanted trash signals.
Control Panel Settings
The control panel allows for adjustment of various detector functions:
- 1. Backlight (540): Adjusts the screen's brightness for visibility.
- 2. Power: Turns the metal detector on and off.
- 3. Volume: Controls the audio output level.
- 4. All Metal*: Activates a mode that detects all types of metal. (*Long press to activate iron bias on the 540 model).
- 5. Pinpoint: A feature to help precisely locate the center of a detected target.
- 6. Sensitivity: Adjusts the detector's sensitivity to detect smaller or deeper targets.
- 7. Accept/Reject: Allows you to accept or reject specific target signals based on their conductivity.
- 8. Discrimination Modes Edit: Customize which target types are discriminated out of the search.
- 9. Search Mode: Select between the available search modes (Coins, Artifacts, Jewelry, Custom).
- 10. Bluetooth (540): Enables connection to Bluetooth headphones for wireless audio feedback.
- 11. Conductivity Scale: Displays the conductivity value of the detected target.
Display Indicators
The detector's display screen provides crucial information at a glance:
- 12. Battery Level: Indicates the remaining battery power.
- 13. Backlight (540): Shows the status of the screen backlight.
- 14. Bluetooth (540): Displays the status of the Bluetooth connection.
- 15. Volume Level: Shows the current audio volume setting.
- 16. Sensitivity Level: Displays the current sensitivity setting.
- 17. Iron Bias Indicator: Indicates if the iron bias feature is active.
- 18. Target ID Number: A numerical value representing the likely type of target detected.
- 19. Depth Gauge: Estimates the depth at which the target is buried.
- 20. Search Modes: Displays the currently selected search mode.
- 21. Discrimination Segments: A visual representation of which target types are being discriminated.
- 22. Pinpoint: Indicates when the Pinpoint mode is active.
