Important Precautions
- Do not discard packaging until the product has been successfully installed.
- Components may be installed in locations other than where shown. Always verify wire harness length.
- While routing, follow factory wiring when possible.
- Use provided dielectric grease on all connections.
- Always consult labels on Harnesses when making connections.
- Avoid rotating or hot components when securing.
- Before drilling any holes, check the area behind to be drilled for any interference.
Component Identification
The kit includes the following main components:
- Horn Kit: Contains the horn and mounting bracket.
- ECU: The electronic control unit for the kit.
- Turn Signal Switch: Used to activate the turn signals.
- Hazard and Horn Switch: A combined switch for hazard lights and horn activation.
- Wire Ties: For securing wiring.
- 4x - LED Signals: Four LED lights for turn signals.
The wiring harness features multiple connectors for:
- ECU
- Horn / Hazard Switch
- Turn Signal Switch
- Horn
- LED Signals (identified by wire colors: green and black for right, yellow and black for left)
- Connections to the rear of the machine, including Left Rear Tail Light, Right Rear Tail Light, and License Plate Light (optional).
Installation Steps
Front Compartment Installation
1. Remove the Accessory Panel from the vehicle.
2. Place the main Harness into the compartment.
3. Route the Switch portions of the Harness to the Dash area (refer to the Switch Installation section for mounting details).
4. Route the Rear portion of the Harness (as shown on page 2) to the rear of the machine.
5. Reinstall the Accessory Panel.
Rear Wiring Connections
Access the rear stock harness by looking up and into the area shown on the rear of the machine. The driver and passenger sides are similar.
Passenger Side:
- Unplug the stock Tail Light connector.
- Connect the corresponding Harness connector to the unplugged Tail Light connector.
Driver Side:
- Unplug the stock Tail Light connector.
- Connect the corresponding Harness connector to the unplugged Tail Light connector.
ECU Installation
1. Plug the main Harness into the ECU.
2. Secure the ECU to the Accessory Panel using the provided 2x Self Tapping Screws. Tighten securely.
3. Locate the stock connector with brown and black wires for the ECU connection.
LED Signal Installation
Before drilling any holes, check the area behind to be drilled for any interference.
- Drill a 3/4 inch (Ø3/4") hole in the body panel where the LED signal will be installed. Repeat for all remaining LED Signals.
- Install the LED Signal into the drilled hole.
- If the light is difficult to insert, separate the LED from the Gasket. Install the Gasket into the hole first, then install the LED into the Gasket.
- Plug the LED Signals into their corresponding inputs on the main Harness.
- Secure all wires as needed using the provided wire ties.
Horn Installation
The Horn may be installed in a location different than shown.
- Install the Horn to the provided Horn Bracket.
- Connect the Harness to the Horn.
- Secure the Horn assembly to the vehicle, tightening as necessary using stock hardware.
Switch Installation
SuperATV recommends testing the Switches before permanently mounting them.
- Remove two (2) Knockouts from the dash panel to accommodate the Switches.
- Verify that the wiring will reach the mounting locations.
- Connect the Harnesses to the respective Switches (Turn Signal, Hazard/Horn).
- Secure the Switches into the dash panel.
Wiring Harness Preparation
For the turn signal harness, carefully cut the heat shrink tubing and push back the protective mesh to expose the wires.
- On the Left Turn Signal Harness, cut the yellow wire and strip approximately 1/4 inch from both ends.
- On the Right Turn Signal Harness, cut the green wire.
- Twist the prepared ends of the wires together as indicated.
Install a connector and crimp it securely onto the prepared wires.
For accessory power connection, cut the '+' positive wire (identified as white in the example) from the accessory source, strip approximately 1/4 inch from the end, and insert it into a connector, then crimp.
SuperATV recommends using a handheld mini torch or lighter to activate the heat shrink on the connector.
