Front Panel Controls
The front panel of the sound bar features the following controls:
- [Standby]: Switches the unit ON or OFF.
- [Function]: Selects the input source or function.
- [Volume]: Adjusts the sound volume up or down.
- [Wi-Fi]: Selects the Wi-Fi function.
Resetting the Unit
To reset the unit, press and hold the [Wi-Fi] button on the unit until a beep sound is heard.
Rear Panel Connections
The rear panel provides ports for connecting various devices:
- [DC IN]: Connect to the AC adapter for power.
- [HDMI IN]: Connect to a device with an HDMI OUT port (e.g., Blu-ray player, game console).
- [HDMI OUT (TV eARC/ARC)]: Connect to the HDMI ARC/eARC input on your TV.
- [OPTICAL IN]: Connect to an optical audio output from a TV or other device.
- [USB]: Used for S/W (Software) download connector (Service only).
Important Note: Ensure proper alignment when connecting the optical cable to prevent damage to the jack.
Subwoofer Connection
Connect the wireless subwoofer to the sound bar:
- Place the wireless subwoofer near the sound bar.
- Connect the power cords of both the sound bar and the subwoofer to an electrical outlet.
- Turn on the sound bar. The sound bar and subwoofer should connect automatically, indicated by a solid green LED on the subwoofer.
Manual Subwoofer Connection
If automatic connection fails:
- Press the [Pairing] button on the rear of the wireless subwoofer. The green LED will blink rapidly. (If it doesn't blink, press and hold [Pairing]).
- Turn on the sound bar.
- Pairing is complete when the green LED on the subwoofer turns solid.
Interference Prevention: Keep the sound bar and subwoofer at least 1 meter (approx. 3 feet) away from devices like wireless routers or microwave ovens to prevent wireless interference.
TV and Device Connections
TV Connection Options
Connect the sound bar to your TV using either Optical or HDMI ARC:
A. Optical Connection
- Connect the sound bar to the TV using an Optical cable.
- On your TV's settings menu, select [External Speaker (Optical)].
B. HDMI (TV eARC/ARC) Connection
- Connect the sound bar to the TV using an HDMI cable.
- On your TV's settings menu, select [External Speaker (HDMI ARC)].
Notes:
- HDMI ARC connection requires your TV to support the HDMI ARC feature.
- If connected via both Optical and HDMI ARC simultaneously, the ARC signal takes priority.
Connecting Additional Devices
Connect external devices such as set-top boxes or media players:
- Connect the external device's HDMI OUT to the sound bar's [HDMI IN] port.
- Connect the sound bar's [HDMI OUT (TV eARC/ARC)] to the TV's HDMI ARC/eARC input.
- Alternatively, connect external devices to the TV and use the TV's optical output to connect to the sound bar's [OPTICAL IN] port.
After connecting, set the input source on the sound bar by repeatedly pressing the [Function] button.
Network and Wi-Fi Setup
Network Connection
Ensure your network is set up correctly:
- Verify your router is connected to the internet.
- Connect your smart device (smartphone/tablet) to your home Wi-Fi network.
- Connect the sound bar to its power supply.
Note: All devices should be connected to the same router.
Setting up Wi-Fi using the Google Home App
- Install the App: Download the "Google Home" app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
- Connect Device: Ensure your smart device is connected to the Wi-Fi network you intend to use for the sound bar. For iOS devices, ensure Bluetooth is enabled.
- Launch App: Open the "Google Home" app.
- Follow Setup: Follow the on-screen instructions within the app to connect the sound bar to your Wi-Fi network.
Confirmation: Upon successful connection, "CONNECTED" will appear on the sound bar's display, accompanied by a sound.
Notes:
- The app may prompt you to create a Google Account, which is required for setup.
- The "Google Home" app is a Google product and may be subject to changes in policy.
Remote Control and Application Features
Remote Control Functions
The remote control allows operation of the sound bar:
- [Volume] Up/Down: Adjusts sound level.
- [Function]: Selects input source or function.
- [Sound Effect]: Selects a sound effect mode. Long press and press again to use TV remote control functions.
- [Night Mode] (Button symbol 8): Turns Night Mode on or off.
- [Info] (Button symbol J): Displays file information, input source, or connected Bluetooth device name. Long press and press again for Auto Power ON/OFF.
- [Mute] (Button symbol ): Adjusts sound level of each speaker. Long press and press again for Surround Sound mode.
- [*]: This button is not available.
Battery Replacement: The remote control uses [AAA (R03)] batteries.
LG Sound Bar Application
Manage speaker settings and control the sound bar using the "LG Sound Bar" mobile application. Download it from the App Store or Google Play Store.
AI Room Calibration
AI Room Calibration is a feature that optimizes audio settings based on your room's acoustics. It requires the "LG Sound Bar" app. Access it via the [Sound Setting] menu and select [AI Room Calibration].

Disconnecting Wireless Network or Device
To disconnect the sound bar from the wireless network or a connected wireless device, turn off the unit by pressing and holding the power button for more than 3 seconds.
