HMF Electronic Lock Safe Instruction Manual
Important Notes on Operation and Exclusion of Liability
Please read this instruction manual carefully before operating the lock. HMF assumes no liability for malfunctions caused by incorrect adjustment, use of force, improper handling, or for property or financial damages resulting from improper locking of the safe.
Crucial: Keep the supplied emergency keys in a safe place and do not store them inside the safe!
Operation
Commissioning / Emergency Opening
For the first opening or for emergency opening, use the supplied emergency keys. Remove the emergency lock cover (6) and unlock the mechanism by turning it counterclockwise. Rotate the turn knob (5) clockwise to open the safe door.
Inserting the Batteries
Leave the safe door open. Open the battery compartment cover (3) and insert four AA batteries, observing the polarity.
Attention! If the red and green LEDs light up simultaneously, the batteries are low and should be replaced.
Storing the Personal Code
- Press the reset button (2) on the inside of the door.
- As soon as the yellow LED lights up, begin entering your personal code (3-8 digits). Confirm the entry with "*" or "#".
- If the yellow LED flashes and three beeps follow, the new code was not saved successfully. Please repeat the procedure.
Closing the Vault
Close the safe door and turn the knob (5) counterclockwise. The door is now locked.
Opening the Vault with Personal Code
- Enter your stored 3-8 digit code. A beep sounds and the yellow LED flashes with each button press.
- Confirm the entry with "*" or "#". The green LED will light up.
- Rotate the knob (5) clockwise and pull the door towards you within 5 seconds to open it.
Attention! The preset factory code is "159". This can be used if problems occur with the electronic lock, indicated by three flashes of the yellow LED.
Automatic Lock
Three consecutive incorrect code entries will activate a warning beep for 20 seconds, during which the safe cannot be opened with a code. If the code is entered incorrectly three more times consecutively, a warning beep will sound for 5 minutes. To stop the warning tone and open the safe during the lockout period, use the emergency key and remove the batteries.
Installation
Wall Mounting
Choose a suitable location to mount your key safe on the wall. Drill holes for the dowels at the desired location. Insert the dowels into the pre-drilled holes and secure the safe with appropriate screws.
Attention! For mounting on a concrete wall, use expansion bolts. For mounting on a wooden wall, use clamping screws. If necessary, use your own fixing material suitable for your installation location.
