1. Important Operating Instructions / Disclaimer
Please read these operating instructions carefully before operating the lock. HMF accepts no liability for malfunctions caused by incorrect adjustment, use of force, improper handling, or for damage to property or financial loss resulting from failure to lock the safe properly. If passing this device to a third party, this manual must also be handed over.
! Warning: Never keep the supplied emergency opening keys in the safe!
2. Commissioning / Emergency Opening
To open the safe for the first time, remove cover B over the emergency opening lock by pressing firmly on the raised area of the cover (see Fig. 1). Insert the emergency key into the key opening and turn it "anti-clockwise" with your right hand, holding it firmly against the stop to release the mechanical lock. Simultaneously, turn the opening lever "clockwise" with your left hand to open the safe in an emergency.
Open the battery compartment (see Fig. 2) on the inside of the door and insert four AA batteries, noting the polarity. Slide the cover downwards until it can be removed. Close the battery compartment.
Figure 1 (Abb. 1/fig. 1) shows the safe's keypad with colored buttons (Green, Red, Yellow) and numeric keys, labeled 'A' and 'B'.
Figure 2 (Abb. 2/fig. 2) shows the battery compartment labeled 'C', with AA batteries inserted and a diagram of its cover.
Figure 3 (Abb. 3/fig. 3) shows the safe with the battery compartment open, labeled 'C', indicating the reset button, and also shows labels 'A' and 'B' pointing to the door mechanism.
3. Entering the Codes
You can save user and master codes. The user code grants access to others, while the master code guarantees continued access even if the user code is changed.
3.1 Entering a User Code
Leave the safe door open and press the reset button C (see Fig. 3) inside the battery compartment. When the yellow LEDs light up and beeps sound, your code can be entered. Enter your desired user code (3-8 digits) and confirm with the * or # button. Your code is now saved. Note the code or use one you won't forget. Test the code before closing the safe. If yellow LEDs flash and beeps sound, the code was not entered successfully; try again.
3.2 Entering a Master Code
Leave the safe door open and press the "0" button twice, then the reset button C once (see Fig. 3). When the yellow LEDs light up and beeps sound, your desired code can be entered. Enter your desired master code (3-8 digits) and confirm with the * or # button. Your code is now saved. Note the code or use one you won't forget. Test the code before closing the safe. If yellow LEDs flash and beeps sound, the code was not entered successfully; try again.
4. Opening the Safe with Your Code
Enter your user code and press the * button. The green LED will light up. Turn knob A (see Fig. 1) clockwise within 5 seconds of the beep. To relock, close the door and turn knob A anti-clockwise.
ATTENTION! If the wrong code is entered three times, the safe locks automatically and a warning signal sounds. The keypad is deactivated. The warning signal can only be stopped by opening the safe with the emergency key and cutting power by removing batteries.
5. Changing the Batteries
When batteries are low, the green and red LEDs light up together. Open the battery compartment and replace the batteries.
! When batteries are removed, the lock resets to factory settings, and the personal opening code (user and master) must be reprogrammed.
6. Switching Off Sound Signals
To switch off: Press the * button, then 633. To switch on: Press the * button, then 66.
7. Anchoring the Safe
To minimize theft risk, the safe should be secured using the four holes in the rear panel. Anchoring material for concrete is included. For other substrates, use equivalent materials based on local conditions.
Hold the safe in position and mark drill holes with a pencil. Drill holes for expansion anchors. Insert expansion plugs into holes. Hold safe against holes and screw screws through the safe into the holes. Check security and tighten screws if necessary.
Figure 4 (Abb. 4/fig. 4) illustrates anchoring the safe to a wall.
