Product Description
This document provides instructions for the Thule RideAlong 2, a rear-mounted child bike seat. It is designed to be securely attached to a bicycle frame, allowing a child to ride safely as a passenger.

Safety Information
Age, Weight, and Height Limits
- EU: 9-72 months, 9-22 kg, up to 110 cm
- Canada: 9-72 months, 20-40 lbs, up to 43.3 inches

Bike Compatibility
Check your bike:
- Compatible Frame Tube Shapes:
- Circular tubes: Diameter 28-40 mm (1.10-1.57 inches)
- Oval tubes: Maximum diameter 40 mm (1.57 inches)
Clearance Requirements: Ensure at least 15 cm (6 inches) of clearance between the child seat and the rear wheel.
Incompatible Frame Types:
- Triangular frames
- Square frames
- ⚠ Warning: Do not use on Carbon Fiber Bikes as it may cause frame damage.
Usage Guidelines and Warnings
- ⚠ Maximum Speed: Do not exceed 25 km/h (15 mph).
- ⚠ Weather Conditions: The seat is suitable for use in various weather conditions (sun, rain, snow).
- ⚠ Temperature: Be mindful of ambient temperature affecting the child.
- ⚠ Visibility: Ensure adequate lighting when riding at night.
- ⚠ Harness Use: Always ensure the child is properly secured with the harness.
- ⚠ Mounting: Ensure the seat is correctly and securely mounted to the bicycle.
- ⚠ Disposal: Do not dispose of the product in household waste. Recycle according to local regulations.
Installation Steps
Step 1: Attach Mounting Bracket
Slide the mounting bracket onto the bicycle frame's seat tube. Ensure it is correctly oriented.
Step 2: Mount Child Seat to Bracket
Align the child seat with the mounting bracket and push down until it clicks into place. Ensure the locking mechanism (A, B) is engaged.
Step 3: Secure the Seat
Insert and tighten the screws (C, D) to secure the seat to the bracket. Ensure the locking mechanism is engaged.
Step 4: Bike Frame Compatibility and Screw Selection
Confirm your bike frame's diameter (28-40 mm circular, max 40 mm oval) and select the appropriate screws (M6x44 or M6x58) based on the frame thickness.
Step 5: Adjust Seat Position
Slide the child seat forward or backward on the bracket to achieve the desired position. Lock the seat in place.
Step 6: Final Attachment and Tightening
Position the child seat correctly on the bike. Tighten the mounting screws to a torque of 8 Nm (Newton-meters) using a torque wrench. Ensure all screws are securely fastened.
Step 7: Securing the Child
Adjust the harness straps to fit the child snugly. Buckle the harness and ensure it is locked securely.
Step 8: Child Placement and Harness Fastening
Place the child in the seat. Fasten the harness buckles by pushing them together until they click. Adjust the shoulder straps for a secure fit.
Step 9: Adjusting Footrests
Adjust the height of the footrests to accommodate the child's leg length. Secure the footrests in the desired position.
Step 10: Final Checks
Perform a final check of all connections, screws, and harness adjustments to ensure the seat is securely and safely installed.
