Please read these instructions carefully and keep them for future reference. Ensure all parts are present before assembly.
Safety First: Always ensure the child is properly secured with the harness. Check compatibility with your bicycle before installation. Maximum child weight: 22 kg (48.5 lbs). Maximum child height: 110 cm (43.3 inches). Recommended age range: 9 months to 6 years.
Speed Limit: Maximum speed 25 km/h (15 mph).
Weather Conditions: Avoid riding in extreme weather conditions (heavy rain, snow, extreme heat or cold). The seat may become too hot or too cold for the child.
Night Riding: Ensure you have proper lighting for riding at night.
Disposal: Do not dispose of the child seat with household waste. Follow local regulations for electronic waste disposal.
Key Number: Keep your key number safe for future reference.
Bike Compatibility:
- Frame Type: Suitable for circular or oval seat tubes with a diameter of 28-40 mm (1.10-1.57 inches). Not suitable for triangular or square frames.
- Rear Rack Clearance: Ensure at least 15 cm (6 inches) of clearance between the seat tube and the rear wheel.
- Carbon Fiber Bikes: Use with caution on carbon fiber bikes as it may cause frame damage.
Assembly Instructions
Follow these steps carefully to assemble and install the Thule RideAlong 2 child bike seat.
- Prepare the Seat: Attach the support arm to the seat unit.
- Assemble the Mounting Bracket: Assemble the mounting bracket components as shown in the diagrams.
- Attach Mounting Bracket to Bike: Securely attach the mounting bracket to the bicycle's seat tube using the provided hardware (M6x44 or M6x58 bolts). Ensure a torque of 8 Nm is applied.
- Mount the Seat: Slide the seat onto the mounting bracket until it clicks into place.
- Secure the Seat: Lock the seat onto the bracket using the integrated lock mechanism.
- Adjust Footrests: Adjust the footrests to the correct height for the child.
- Secure the Child: Place the child in the seat and fasten the harness. Ensure the harness is snug and secure.

Step 1: Connect the support arm to the seat.
Step 2: Assemble the mounting bracket parts.

- A: Attach the mounting bracket to the bike's seat tube.
- B: Insert and tighten the bolts (M6x44 or M6x58).
- C: Tighten bolts to 8 Nm using a torque wrench.
- D: Ensure the bracket is securely locked.
Step 4:
- A: Align the seat with the mounting bracket.
- B: Slide the seat onto the bracket until it clicks.
Step 5:
- A: Insert the seat into the bracket and push down until it locks.
- B: Check that the seat is securely attached.
Step 6:
- Adjust the height of the footrests to fit the child's legs.
Step 7:
- A: Place the child in the seat.
- B: Fasten the harness straps.
- C: Adjust the harness for a snug fit.
- D: Ensure the buckle is securely locked.
Maintenance and Care
Clean the seat with a damp cloth and mild soap. Do not use abrasive cleaners. Regularly check all bolts and straps for tightness and wear.
