CASIO W-212 Digital Watch User Manual

Module Numbers: 3149, 3241

Important Information Before Use

Battery: The battery installed at the factory may be depleted during shipping and storage. If power is low (e.g., dim display), replace the battery at an authorized CASIO service center or dealer.

Water Resistance:

  • Do not press buttons underwater.
  • Do not move the crown underwater.
  • Do not unscrew the crown underwater.
  • If exposed to saltwater, rinse thoroughly with fresh water and dry.
  • Do not wear watches with leather straps while swimming. Avoid prolonged contact of leather straps with water.

Care for Plastic Bands: A white powdery substance may appear on plastic bands. This substance is harmless and can be removed by wiping with a soft cloth. Sweat or moisture can damage plastic bands; clean them regularly with a soft cloth to ensure a long service life.

Care for Fluorescent Cases/Bands: Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or moisture can cause fluorescent colors to fade. Wipe off moisture promptly. Prolonged contact with other wet surfaces may cause discoloration. Ensure fluorescent surfaces are dry and avoid contact with other surfaces.

General Care:

  • Avoid extreme temperatures.
  • Handle with care; avoid drops.
  • Do not overtighten the strap. Ensure a finger can fit between your wrist and the strap.
  • For cleaning, use a dry soft cloth or a cloth dampened with a mild detergent solution. Never use volatile agents like gasoline, solvents, spray cleaners, adhesives, or paint, as these can damage seals, the case, and the finish.
  • Store in a dry place when not in use.
  • Be careful when cleaning silk-screened designs on straps to avoid damaging the patterns.

Condensation: Slight condensation may form inside the glass due to rapid temperature changes; this is a normal phenomenon due to physics and not a defect.

CASIO Computer Co., LTD is not responsible for any damage that may occur from the use of these watches, nor does it accept claims from third parties.

Backlight

Press the [B] button in any mode to turn on the backlight. The backlight automatically turns off when any alarm sounds.

The backlight of these watches is made with LED panels, whose power may decrease after a certain period of use.

When the display is illuminated, the watch emits an audible signal. This occurs because the backlight elements vibrate; it is not an indication of a malfunction.

The backlight is difficult to see if direct sunlight falls on the watch.

Frequent use of the backlight shortens the life of the power element.
