Introduction to Shelly®

Shelly is a brand of innovative devices enabling remote control of electrical appliances via mobile phone, PC, or home automation systems. Shelly devices use WiFi for connectivity, allowing operation within a local network or remotely via the internet. They can function independently or integrate with cloud services.

Each Shelly device has an integrated web server for adjustment, control, and monitoring. Shelly devices support two WiFi modes: Access Point (AP) and Client Mode (CM). Client Mode requires a WiFi router within range. Devices can communicate directly via HTTP. An API is available from the manufacturer.

Remote access is possible when the WiFi router is connected to the internet, utilizing the Shelly Cloud service.

Users can register and access Shelly Cloud via Android/iOS mobile applications or any internet browser at https://my.Shelly.cloud/.

Installation Instructions

General Precautions:

  • ⚠️ CAUTION! Danger of electrocution. Installation should be performed by a qualified person (electrician).
  • ⚠️ CAUTION! Voltage may be present across clamps even when the device is off. Always disconnect local power before making connection changes.
  • ⚠️ CAUTION! Do not connect the device to appliances exceeding the specified maximum load.
  • ⚠️ CAUTION! Connect the device only as shown in the instructions. Other methods may cause damage or injury.
  • ⚠️ CAUTION! Read accompanying documentation carefully and completely before installation. Failure to follow procedures may lead to malfunction, danger, or legal violation. Allterco Robotics is not responsible for loss or damage due to incorrect installation or operation.
  • ⚠️ CAUTION! Use the device only with power grids and appliances compliant with applicable regulations. Short circuits may damage the device.
  • ? RECOMMENDATION: Connect and control electric circuits and appliances only if they comply with respective standards and safety norms.

Initial Inclusion:

Before installation, ensure the power grid is off (breakers down). Connect Shelly to the power grid following the wiring scheme (refer to Figure 1 in the original document, which shows connections for power, switch, and LED outputs). The device can be used with the Shelly Cloud mobile app or controlled via its embedded web interface.

Voice Control Compatibility:

All Shelly devices are compatible with Amazon Echo and Google Home. Guides are available at https://shelly.cloud/compatibility/Alexa and https://shelly.cloud/compatibility/Assistant.

Shelly Cloud Mobile Application

The Shelly Cloud app allows remote control and adjustment of Shelly devices from anywhere in the world with an internet connection. Install the app from Google Play or the App Store.

Registration:

Create an account in the Shelly Cloud app to manage your devices. If you forget your password, use the 'Forgotten Password' option by entering your registered email address. Ensure your email is typed correctly during registration.

After registering, create rooms to organize your Shelly devices. The app supports creating scenes for automatic device control based on time or other parameters (e.g., temperature, humidity).

Device Inclusion Process:

Step 1: After installing and powering on Shelly, it creates its own WiFi Access Point (AP) with an SSID like 'shellyrgbw2-XXXXXXXXXX'. If the AP is not created, check connections, reset the device (power off/on, then press the connected switch 5 times within 20 seconds, or press the reset button once if accessible; the LED strip light will flash), and power cycle again.

Step 2: Choose "Add Device" in the app. Enter your WiFi network's SSID and password.

Step 3 (iOS): Connect your iPhone/iPad/iPod to the Shelly WiFi network (e.g., 'shellyrgbw2-XXXXXXXXXX') via Settings > WiFi.

Step 3 (Android): Your phone/tablet will scan and include new Shelly devices on your connected WiFi network.

Step 4: Upon successful inclusion, a pop-up confirms it. The app will then display discovered devices in a "Discovered Devices" room.

Step 5: Select the device from the "Discovered Devices" list.

Step 6: Enter a Device Name, choose a Room, and optionally add an icon or picture. Press "Save Device".

Step 7: Press "YES" on the pop-up to enable connection to the Shelly Cloud service for remote control and monitoring.

Shelly Devices Settings:

Once included, devices can be controlled (ON/OFF buttons) and settings edited via the device's details menu. This includes editing name, room, and picture.

Work Modes

Shelly RGBW 2 supports two work modes:

  • Color Mode: Allows selection from a full color gamma. Includes four predefined colors (Red, Green, Blue, Yellow) and a dimmer slider for brightness adjustment.
  • White Mode: Features four separate channels, each with an On/Off button and a dimmer slider to set the brightness for the corresponding white channel.

Settings

Edit Device:
