AWARENESS: If the Device is not connected to supported light types, dimming functionality might not be available. However, basic on/off control will still function.
Initial Inclusion and Voice Control Setup
Before installation, ensure the power grid is switched off (breakers down). Connect the Shelly device following the wiring scheme. You can opt to use the Shelly Cloud mobile application and service, or manage the device via its embedded Web interface.
Control your home with your voice
All Shelly devices are compatible with Amazon Echo and Google Home.
Consult our step-by-step guides:
Shelly Cloud Mobile Application
The Shelly Cloud app allows you to control and adjust all Shelly® Devices from anywhere globally, requiring only an internet connection and the app installed on your smartphone or tablet.
Download the Shelly Cloud app:
Registration
Upon first launch of the Shelly Cloud app, create an account to manage your Shelly® devices. For password recovery, use the 'Forgotten Password' option, which sends instructions to your registered email. Ensure accurate email entry during registration.
After registration, create rooms to organize your Shelly devices.
Device Inclusion Process
To add a new Shelly device, install it according to the Installation Instructions.
Step 1: After installation and power-on, Shelly creates its own WiFi Access Point (AP) with an SSID like 'shellydimmer-35FA58'. If this network isn't visible, reset the device: power cycle it and press the switch connected to I1/I2 five consecutive times within 60 seconds, or hold the reset button for 10 seconds until the LED flashes quickly.
Step 2: In the Shelly Cloud app, tap 'Add Device' (accessible via the top-right menu).
Step 3: Enter the SSID and password of your home WiFi network to which you want to connect the device.
For iOS Users: Minimize the app, navigate to Settings > WiFi, connect to the Shelly's WiFi network (e.g., 'shellydimmer-35FA58'), then reopen the Shelly Cloud app.
For Android Users: Your phone/tablet will automatically scan for and include Shelly Devices on your current WiFi network.
Step 4: Within approximately 30 seconds of discovery, a list of new devices will appear in the 'Discovered Devices' room.
Step 5: Navigate to 'Discovered Devices' and select the device you wish to add to your account.
Step 6: Assign a name to the device, choose a room for it, and optionally add an icon or picture for easier identification. Press 'Save Device'.
Step 7: To enable remote control and monitoring via the Shelly Cloud service, confirm by pressing 'YES' on the subsequent prompt.
Device Settings and Configuration
Once included, you can control and configure your Shelly device through the mobile app or its embedded web interface.
Timer Functionality
Automate power supply management:
- Auto OFF: Automatically shuts down the power supply after a predefined time (in seconds). Setting this to 0 disables automatic shutdown.
- Auto ON: Automatically turns the power supply on after a predefined time (in seconds) following a shutdown. Setting this to 0 disables automatic power-on.
Weekly Schedule
This feature requires an active internet connection. It allows the device to turn on/off automatically at set times, at sunrise/sunset, or at specific intervals before or after sunrise/sunset. Multiple schedules can be configured.
Internet and Security Settings

- Restrict Login: Secure the web interface by setting a username and password.
- SNTP Server: Allows configuration of a custom SNTP Server URL for time synchronization.
ATTENTION! Entering incorrect network settings, usernames, or passwords may prevent connection. A device reset will be required.
WARNING: If the device fails to create its own WiFi network (SSID like 'shellydimmer-35FA58'), verify wiring. If the network is not visible, reset the device by powering it off/on and pressing the switch connected to I1/I2 five consecutive times within 60 seconds, or by holding the reset button for 10 seconds.
