Shelly RGBW2 WiFi LED Controller
Initial Inclusion
Before installation or mounting, ensure the power grid is turned off. Connect the Shelly RGBW2 to the power grid following the provided wiring scheme. Users can choose to use the Shelly Cloud mobile application and service, or the embedded web interface for management and control.

Shelly Application
Download the Shelly app from the App Store, Google Play, or AppGallery. Shelly Cloud allows control and adjustment of all Shelly devices from anywhere globally with an internet connection and the mobile application installed on a smartphone or tablet.
Registration: Create an account in the Shelly Cloud mobile app to manage all your Shelly devices. If you forget your password, enter the registered email address for password change instructions. Be careful when typing your email address during registration.
First Steps: Create rooms to organize your Shelly devices. Shelly Cloud enables scene creation for automatic device activation/deactivation based on predefined times or other parameters like temperature, humidity, or light (with available sensors). Shelly Cloud facilitates easy control and monitoring via mobile phone, tablet, or PC.
Device Inclusion
Step 1: Install the Shelly device to the power grid according to the included installation instructions. Once powered on, Shelly will create its own WiFi Access Point (AP) with an SSID like shellyrgbw2-35FA58
. If the WiFi network is not visible, reset the device by powering it off and on, then pressing the reset button or the connected switch 5 times within 20 seconds. The LED strip will flash, indicating AP mode. If not, repeat the process or contact support@shelly.cloud.
Step 2: Open the Shelly app and select "Add Device". To add more devices, use the app menu. Enter the SSID and password for the WiFi network you want to connect the device to.
Step 3 (iOS): Navigate to your device's Settings > WiFi, connect to the network created by Shelly (e.g., shellyrgbw2-35FA58
), and then reopen the Shelly app. Android devices will automatically scan for new Shelly devices on the connected WiFi network.
Step 4: Device discovery can take up to a minute. A list of discovered devices will appear in the "Discovered Devices" room.
Step 5: Enter "Discovered Devices" and select the device you wish to include in your account.
Step 6: Enter a name for the device, choose a room, and optionally add an icon or picture. Press "Save Device".
Step 7: To enable Shelly Cloud connection for remote control and monitoring, press "YES" on the pop-up prompt.
Shelly Devices Settings
After inclusion, you can control and configure your Shelly device. Use the ON/OFF button to control the device and click its name to access the details menu for further control and settings editing.
Work Modes: Shelly RGBW2 offers two modes: Color mode for a full color gamma with four predefined colors (Red, Green, Blue, Yellow) and a dimmer for brightness adjustment. White mode provides four separate channels with On/Off buttons and dimmer sliders for brightness control.
Edit Device: You can edit the Device Name, Device Room, and Device Picture. Press "Save Device" when done.
Timer:
- Auto OFF: Automatically shuts down the power supply after a predefined time (in seconds). A value of 0 cancels this function.
- Auto ON: Automatically turns the power supply on after a predefined time (in seconds). A value of 0 cancels this function.
- Weekly Schedule: Requires an internet connection. Allows automatic turning on/off at predefined times. Multiple schedules are possible.
- Sunrise/Sunset: Requires an internet connection. Shelly receives real-time sunrise/sunset information to turn the device on or off at specified times before or after these events. Multiple schedules are possible.
Internet/Security
- WiFi Mode Client: Connects the device to an available WiFi network.
- WiFi Mode Access Point: Configures Shelly to create its own WiFi Access Point.
- Cloud: Enables or disables connection to the Shelly Cloud service.
- Restrict Login: Restricts access to the web interface with a username and password.
Advanced Developer Settings: Change action execution via CoAP or MQTT.
Firmware Upgrade: Update the device firmware. Click "Upload" to install new versions.
Settings
- Power On Default Mode: Sets the default state when Shelly is powered on (ON, OFF, or Restore Last Mode).
- Time Zone and Geo-location: Enables or disables automatic detection of time zone and geo-location.
- Factory Reset: Returns Shelly to its factory default settings.
- Device Reboot: Restarts the device.
- Device Information: Displays the unique Shelly Device ID and IP address within your Wi-Fi network.

The Embedded Web Interface
Shelly devices can be controlled through a web browser. The Shelly ID is the unique name of the device (e.g., 35FA58
). The SSID is the name of the WiFi network created by the device (e.g., shellyrgbw2-35FA58
).
Access Point (AP) Mode: The device creates its own WiFi connection point.
Client Mode (CM): The device connects to another WiFi network.

General - Home Page: Displays information about the current work mode, state (on/off), brightness, power status, cloud connection, and current time.
