Step 1: Assemble the Base

Attach the five legs to the central star-shaped hub. Insert screws (122898) into the designated holes and tighten using the hex key (124345). Ensure all legs are securely fastened.

Step 2: Attach Casters

Insert the five casters (10049061/10097200) into the ends of each leg. Push firmly until you hear a "Click!" sound ?, indicating they are securely in place.

Step 3: Insert Gas Lift Cylinder

Place the gas lift cylinder into the center of the assembled base. Ensure it is seated correctly.

Step 4: Attach Tilt Mechanism to Seat

Place the seat cushion upside down on a flat surface. Align the tilt mechanism with the pre-drilled holes on the underside of the seat. Note the 'R' (Right) and 'L' (Left) markings on the mechanism and align them correctly. Secure the mechanism using eight screws (121501/10108527) and the hex key (100092). Tighten all screws securely.

Step 5: Connect Base to Seat

Carefully lift the assembled seat and mechanism and place it onto the gas lift cylinder protruding from the base. Press down firmly to secure the connection.

Step 6: Final Assembly and Adjustments

The chair is now assembled. To adjust the seat height, pull the lever located under the seat upwards ⬆️. To adjust the tilt and lock the chair, use the lever located near the seat. The diagrams show how to tilt the backrest and lock/unlock its position.

Safety Castors

The SMÖRKULL chair is equipped with safety castors. These castors automatically brake when no one is sitting in the chair. This prevents the chair from rolling away when you stand up, ensuring it stays in place where you left it.

Seat and Backrest Cover Replacement

These steps detail how to remove and replace the seat and backrest covers.

Step 1: Remove Seat and Backrest

Detach the seat and backrest from the chair frame. The diagrams show how to disconnect these parts.

Step 2: Remove Old Seat Cover

Place the seat cushion on a flat surface. Unzip the cover and carefully detach it from the seat pad. This involves releasing multiple clips around the edges of the pad. Pay attention to the number of clips (e.g., 21x, 2x, 7x, 3x, 8x) as indicated in the diagrams.

Step 3: Attach New Seat Cover

Align the new cover with the seat pad. Secure the cover by re-attaching the clips around the edges and zipping it closed. Ensure all clips are fastened securely.
