Safety Instructions

• Do not repair, disassemble, or modify the device without permission.
• Avoid using the device in extremely hot, cold, dusty, or humid environments. Keep away from liquids.
• It is normal for the device to get warm during charging.
• Prevent the device from falling, friction, or crashing against hard objects. Avoid violent vibration or impact to prevent surface scratches, battery disconnection, data loss, or hardware damage.
• Listen to music at a proper volume to protect your hearing and the sound system. Turn down the volume before plugging in headphones.
• Do not clean the device with chemicals or detergents, as this may damage the surface and coating.
• The USB port is for data transmission or charging. Avoid using the device while it is charging.
• When the device is not in use for extended periods, charge it regularly to maintain battery life.
• Replace the battery only with the same type or an equivalent. Improper replacement may cause explosion.
• Never expose the battery to sunlight, fire, or other extremely hot environments.
• Use only CCC-certified power adapters that meet standard requirements.

Operation Instructions

1. For devices running Android 7 or higher, Windows 10, or macOS, the UA5 functions as a plug-and-play device without requiring additional drivers.

   For Windows XP, 7, or 8, please download dedicated USB drivers from https://en.shanling.com.

   Note: Due to variations in Android system implementations by different manufacturers, some devices may require additional settings or may not support this connection.

2. To connect with certain devices, such as gaming consoles or older Android devices, switch the UA5 to UAC 1.0 mode. To do this, press and hold the mode switch button while connecting the UA5 to the device.

3. The UA5 is powered via USB or its internal battery. When powered by USB, its power consumption is minimal. The device can also be switched to battery power to prevent draining the connected smartphone's battery.

   During operation, some heat generation is normal due to the high-performance DAC chip.

4. For use with iOS devices, a specific USB-C to Lightning cable is required.

Key Functions and Controls

Using the Controls

• Rotary Wheel: Rotate to adjust volume. Double-click to lock/unlock volume control.
• Multi-function Button (Mode Switch):
  • Main Screen:
    • Long press (2 seconds): Enter Settings Menu.
    • Short press: Turn display screen on/off.
    • Double press: Lock/unlock buttons.
  • Screen Off State:
    • Short press: Turn display screen on.
  • Settings Menu:
    • Short press: Move to the next menu item or confirm selection.
    • Long press: Exit the Settings Menu.
    • Rotate Wheel: Select setting options.
  • Volume Screen:
    • Long press (6 seconds): Restore factory settings.

Companion App

Connect to the "Eddict Player" app to access detailed settings and extended features for the UA5. The app can be downloaded from the Play Store or Apple Store.
