Controlling Vivid Tune Tunable White

VividTune luminaires make tunable white more accessible by using simple and familiar controls. From wall dimmers to wireless controls, VividTune tunable white luminaires are compatible with industry standard 0-10V dimming controls. A single 0-10V dimming input is used to control intensity (brightness) while a second 0-10V dimming input is used to adjust CCT. For suggested control configurations, go to www.cooperlighting.com for tunable white application guides.

Melanopic Lighting

Diagram Description: Icons representing 'See better', 'Feel better', 'Function better'. A diagram showing "Brighter BloUp Days" and "Darker Nights". A link to the BioUp brochure is provided.

Illuminating ANSI/IES RP-46-23: This standard, published March 2024, is based on over 40 years of research and emphasizes the importance of circadian clock synchronization for the body's efficient and appropriate functioning.

INTERNATIONAL WELL BUILDING INSTITUTE™: BioUp solutions maximize WELL points for Circadian Lighting Design (L03). By using BioUp, equivalent Melanopic Lux (EML) thresholds for circadian design can be achieved, earning nearly 20% of WELL building lighting points.

MDER, M-EDI and EML are key metrics used to quantify non-visual performance of indoor lighting systems.

Diagram Description: Comparison of standard 4000K LED (MDER = .62) and BioUp 4000K LED (MDER = .82) with spectral distribution graphs showing melanopic and visual components.

MDER - Melanopic Daylight Efficacy Ratio (MDER) measures the amount of light stimulating to the melanopsin receptors.

BioUp enhances the LED spectrum with cyan light at 475nm increasing the biological impact of the light to enhance our circadian rhythm which regulates our sleep/wake cycle, daytime engagement, and mood all without distorting visual color impression.

Diagram Description: Spectral distribution graphs for Static (non-tunable) and Dynamic (tunable) BioUp lighting. Static shows MDER values for 3500K and 4000K. Dynamic shows MDER values for Evening (0.43) and Daytime (0.98), with indications for dimming control and CCT control.

Static (non-tunable): Static BioUp is used when simple Melanopic Lighting is desired at all times.

Dynamic - (Tunable): Dynamic BioUp is used when Melanopic Lighting is desired to adjust during the day.
