- Signal transmission up to 100m over Cat5e/6/7 cable.
- Supports unicast over 1Gb unmanaged networks and multicast over 1Gb managed networks.
- Supports video wall compositing up to 9x9 setups.
- Supports audio embedding and extraction.
- Supports mainstream and sub-stream encoding modes.
- Supports pass-through and RS-232, TCP/IP, Web GUI management via VEO-XCTRLG2 controller.
- HDCP 1.4 compliant.
- Supports PoE function.
- Local 12V DC power supply.
4. Install & Connect
4.1 Network Requirements and Configuration
The VEO-XTI1CG2 and VEO-XRI1CG2 are compatible with various network hardware, provided the network supports:
- Layer 3 managed network switch.
- IGMP snooping support.
Note: For optimal performance and to prevent interference, consult your IT staff regarding network configuration for multicast products.
4.1.1 Setting the IP Address
Default IP addresses are "auto IP": 169.254.10.x for transmitters and 169.254.20.x for receivers. The VEO-XCTRLG2 controller can also assign IPs dynamically. Refer to the VEO-XCTRLG2 controller module user manual for details.
- You can check the assigned IP address by pressing and holding the [Up Arrow] button on the front panel. Refer to the "Additional Functionalities of CH Select" chapter for more details.
- IP addresses can be changed via the device's embedded web page. Ensure your PC and VEO devices are in the same network domain to access the web settings page. Refer to the "Configuration using Web Interface" chapter.
- Static IP addresses must be set manually for each device.
4.1.2 Video Distribution Quick Start
A transmitter (encoder) and receiver (decoder) pair is required for video transmission. Each transmitter uses a unique ID channel number (0-762) to stream video over the network, identifying a multicast address. Receivers select these channels to receive AV streams. Transmitter IDs are set once; receiver IDs are changed to display different content. The receiver's destination ID must match the transmitter's channel.
ID channels can be selected via:
- Front panel buttons (VEO-XTI1CG2 ID assignment is blocked by default; requires CFN mode, long-press DOWN button. Refer to "Additional Functionalities of CH Select" chapter).
- Web Page configuration.
- RS-232.
- TCP via VEO-XCTRLG2 controller.
4.1.3 Unicast Mode
For simple point-to-point extensions, no additional configuration is needed.
Connection Steps:
- Connect the source device to the VEO-XTI1CG2 transmitter's HDMI port.
- Connect Audio IN/OUT to a sound device and select the audio mode.
- Connect the remote endpoint to the VEO-XRI1CG2 receiver's HDMI output port.
- Connect the transmitter and receiver with a Cat5e/6/7 cable.
- Connect an RS-232 cable from the automation system to the transmitter's RS-232 port.
- Connect an RS-232 cable from the receiver to the device to be controlled.
- Power the VEO-XTI1CG2 transmitter and VEO-XRI1CG2 receiver using the included power adapter.
Important: Ensure both devices are set to the same ID.
4.1.4 Multicast Mode
For point-to-multipoint or multipoint-to-multipoint topologies, each transmitter and receiver needs a unique IP address. An independent IP video network using managed switches with IGMP support is recommended.
Setup Steps:
- Set the IP address for each transmitter and receiver.
- Connect source devices to VEO-XTI1CG2 transmitters' HDMI ports.
- Connect HDMI endpoints to VEO-XRI1CG2 receivers' HDMI ports.
- Connect Audio IN/OUT to a sound device and select the audio mode.
- Connect RS-232 cables from the automation system to the transmitters' ports.
- Connect RS-232 cables from the receivers to the devices to be controlled.
- Connect all VEO devices to the network switch using Cat. 5e/6/7 cables.
- Power the VEO-XTI1CG2 transmitter and VEO-XRI1CG2 receiver with the included power adapter. If the switch supports PoE, local power may not be needed.
- Choose the desired ID channel for each VEO device to establish video transmission flows.
Diagram Description: A network diagram shows multiple VEO-XTI1CG2 transmitters and VEO-XRI1CG2 receivers connected via an Ethernet switch. An AV installer PC and a Video Wall are also depicted, illustrating a typical multicast setup.
