3. Description and Characteristics
The VEO-XTI1CG2 transmitter and VEO-XRI1CG2 receiver are part of an H.265/H.264 over IP HDMI extender system. They provide high-quality, low-bandwidth video compression for point-to-point and multipoint configurations over a single Cat5e/6/7 cable up to 100 meters. These devices are suitable for educational, commercial, and enterprise applications requiring flexible and scalable audiovisual systems. They can also be used with the VEO-XCTRLG2 control module for extended management.

- HDMI® video resolution up to 1920x1200p at 60 Hz, 4:4:4.
- Transmission distance up to 100m over Cat5e/6/7 cable.
- Supports unicast on unmanaged 1 Gbit/s networks and multicast signal extension.
- 1 Gbit/s managed networks.
- Supports video wall composition up to 9x9 configurations.
- Supports audio integration and extraction.
- Supports main and secondary stream encoding modes.
- Supports RS-232, TCP/IP, and WebGUI control via the VEO-XCTRLG2 controller module.

4. Installation and Connection
4.1 Rack Mounting in VEO-RK1CG2
The units can be installed in a 3U rack accessory (VEO-RK1CG2). Follow these steps:
- Attach the two mounting brackets to the product using the provided screws.
- Insert the product with its mounting brackets into the 3U rack accessory.
- Secure the mounting brackets to the rack with screws.
4.2 Network Requirements and Configuration
The VEO-XTI1CG2 and VEO-XRI1CG2 are compatible with various network hardware but require:
- An L3 managed network switch.
- IGMP snooping support.
It is recommended to consult with the network administrator for proper configuration to avoid performance issues.
4.2.1 IP Address Setting
Default IP addresses are 169.254.10.x for the transmitter and 169.254.20.x for the receiver. The VEO-XCTRLG2 can also assign IP addresses. You can verify the IP address using the Ecler VEO-1CG2 Discovery application or by pressing the '▲' button on the front panel.
IP addresses can be changed via the integrated Web GUI. Ensure your computer and the VEO devices are on the same network domain.
Note: Static IP addresses must be set manually for each device.
4.2.2 Quick Setup for Video Distribution
To establish video transmission, match the transmitter and receiver. Each VEO-XTI1CG2 can broadcast video using a unique channel number. Receivers (VEO-XRI1CG2) select these channels to receive the audiovisual stream.
Channel selection can be done via:
- Front panel buttons (VEO-XTI1CG2 ID is locked by default; refer to manual for unlocking).
- Web GUI on the device.
- Web GUI on the VEO-XCTRLG2.
- RS-232.
- TCP via VEO-XCTRLG2.
4.2.3 Unicast Mode
For simple point-to-point extension, no additional configuration is needed. Connect the source to the transmitter's HDMI IN, the display to the receiver's HDMI OUT, link the devices with Cat5e/6/7 cable, connect RS-232 if needed, and power both units. Ensure both devices share the same ID.
4.2.4 Multicast Mode
For point-to-multipoint or multipoint-to-multipoint setups, each transmitter and receiver needs a unique IP address. A managed gigabit network switch with IGMP support is recommended.
Connection steps:
- Set IP addresses for transmitters and receivers.
- Connect source devices to transmitter HDMI® ports.
- Connect remote HDMI® devices to receiver HDMI® ports.
- Connect audio input/output to audio devices.
- Connect RS-232 cables for automation systems and devices to be controlled.
- Connect all VEO devices to the network switch using Cat. 5e/6/7 cables.
- Power the units using the provided adapter, or rely on PoE if available from the switch.
- Select the desired channel for each VEO device to establish video transmission.
