Operating and Installation Instructions
CAUTIONS
- Please insert the micro SD card in the right direction to avoid damage to the card or the device. If the device shows an error message, please format the micro SD card from the device menu. Please reset the device or change the micro SD card if a similar error continues. Note: All files will be deleted when formatting the micro SD card or during a firmware update. Please back up important files prior to these actions. When the reset function is selected, the device will return to default settings.
- Blaupunkt does not warrant the performance of the device if used with a micro SD card other than a Blaupunkt Micro SD card.
- New Micro SD cards must be formatted for first use.
- Ensure the bracket is installed correctly and firmly on the windscreen to avoid damage to the device and for a better recording angle.
- Please do not use the product in wet environments as the device is not waterproof/water resistant.
- Please do not record or take pictures facing the sunlight.
- To obtain a clear image, please clean the windscreen and the device lens regularly. Avoid using the device in dusty environments.
- Handle the device with care and avoid direct impact on the device. Avoid using the device in high electromagnetic environments.
- Please operate the product within the temperature range of -10°C to 65°C. Continuous exposure to sunlight, especially when locked in a cabin where the temperature exceeds 65°C, may result in device malfunction, color change, housing, and image distortion.

- If the car battery voltage is lesser than the setting value of cut-off voltage, the device will stop recording even in park recording mode.

FUNCTIONS - DVR
Pair DVR with Smartphone
The optimal distance range between the DVR and smartphone is approximately 10 meters (33ft) in an open field environment.
Wireless Connection (Wi-Fi)
- Enable Wi-Fi & Location on your Smartphone before beginning (Refer to the instruction manual of your smartphone on how to operate Wi-Fi & Location).
- Download the "Blaupunkt DVR Dashcam" app from the App Store (iOS) or Play Store (Android).
- Before connecting, ensure the Blaupunkt BP8.3A device is powered on.
- Connect to the Wi-Fi network named "BP83A". Insert the default password "12345678" for the first-time connection. After that, press the centered blue button to enter the control view.
- Repeat the Wireless Connection steps whenever the smartphone is disconnected.
Recording Video or Taking Photo in App
- Press the "Record" button to stop the recording or start a new recording.
- Press the "Take Photo" button to capture a photo.
Download Video or Photo
- Go to the app's recording screen to select the Video or Photo gallery.
- Press and hold the preferred video/photo to select it, then press the download icon [⬇️] to download the file.
Emergency Recording
- There will be an audio alert when emergency recording starts.
- The device will begin saving emergency recordings when an impact is detected.
Parking Monitoring
- Provides around-the-clock protection and surveillance when the ignition switch is turned off and the car is parked.
- Park Monitoring recording is triggered by the G-sensor.
- Navigate to "⚙️ Settings" and choose "Parking Monitor". Next, select the preferred mode (Low / Middle / High). Press the "< Back" button to exit the setting menu.
Timelapse
Records long-duration videos by compiling a series of single pictures over a period of time.
Format SD Card
- All data will be deleted. Back up data to prevent unwanted files from being deleted.
- Navigate to "⚙️ Settings" and select "Format Memory Card".
