Care and Maintenance
Important: This light fixture uses light emitting diodes (LEDs) to provide light. LEDs do not have a filament to burn out like a traditional light bulb. LEDs gradually lose their light over their lifetime, but will typically last 30,000 hours in a residential environment.
- Periodically dust the fixture and diffuser using a mild, non-abrasive cleaner and soft cloth. When cleaning the fixture, make sure the power is turned off. Do not spray cleaner directly onto any part of the fixture or LEDs.

Safety Information
Warning and Caution
- LEDs can be damaged by electrostatic discharge (ESD) shock. Before installation, discharge yourself by touching a grounded bare metal surface to remove this hazard.
- Do not use this fixture with a dimming circuit. If dimmer controls are present, remove them and replace them with regular electrical switches. If a three-way dimmer is present, replace it with a regular three-way switch. If unfamiliar with electrical installations, it is recommended a qualified electrician do the installation.
- Warning: To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury to persons:
- For indoor use only. For electrical requirements, see back of driver label.
- Do not look directly at lighted LEDs for any length of time.
- Do not install or operate fixture in proximity to water. Not intended for illumination of aquariums. Do not mount over sinks or stoves.
- Not intended for recessed installation in ceilings or soffits.
- Light strip must be installed inside of an enclosure only when the power adapter is located outside of the enclosure.
- Do not attempt to install while plugged in. Use only insulated staples or plastic ties (not included) to secure the cords. Do not run any cords behind walls, ceilings, soffits, cabinets or a similar permanent structure where it may be inaccessible for examination. Do not use with an extension cord. Use a power strip with integral over current protection to supply power to the fixture.
- Additional LED strip light lengths cannot be added.
- Do not plug the power cord (BB) into the power source until installation is complete.
- Reattaching the block connector (AA) and corner connectors (CC) multiple times may result in damage to the strip light.
- LED strip light (A) must be fully uncoiled when operating or it will result in overheating of the LEDs.
Assembly Instructions
Before beginning to assemble or install lighting fixture, make sure all parts are present. Compare parts with package contents list and hardware contents list. If any part is missing or damaged, do not attempt to assemble the product.
Estimated Assembly Time: 20 minutes. Tools Recommended (not included): Pliers.
Note: Cut the length of the LED strip light (A) carefully before cutting to ensure that the block connector (DD) and corner connectors (EE) do not need to be repositioned multiple times as this may affect the performance of the strip light over time.
Preparation/Preparation/Preparación: Select a location for the LED strip light (A) and mark it. Verify that the power cord (AA) reaches the nearest power outlet and will reach the LED strip light. The IR controller (BB) must be mounted to allow line of sight to the remote control (CC). Do not plug the power cord (AA) into the power source until installation is complete.
Diagram 1: Shows the LED strip light (A) uncoiled and laid out, with the power cord (AA) and IR controller (BB) positioned.
Connecting the Power Cord (AA) to the IR Controller (BB): The LED strip light (A) is designed to be cut in 3.98 in. (10 cm) increments. Only cut on the "cut symbol" (scissors icon). Cutting elsewhere will damage the LED strip light. Once cut, the LED strip light (A) must be joined together with block connectors (DD) or corner connectors (EE).
Diagram 2: Illustrates cutting the LED strip light at the designated cut mark (scissors icon).
Connecting the Block Connector (DD): Before connecting any partial or full sections of LED strip light, remove a small amount of the backliner of the adhesive tape, then line up the polarity symbols. The polarity symbol "+" is located on the LED strip light every 3.98 in. (100 mm). The "+" are on one side. To use the block connector (DD), pry both cover latches open with a small flathead screwdriver. Insert the tip of the screwdriver into the gap between the connector base and the latches and twist. Once the latches are open, seat the LED strip light on the top of the contacts. Line up all the "+" symbols on the LED strip light sections being connected on the same side (as shown). Close down on the latches until they are locked. The contacts in the connector will pierce the contact plates in the LED strip light sections. Repeat for the other end. Note: The block connectors (DD) may require the use of pliers to fully close and lock the latches in place.
Diagram 3: Shows the block connector (DD) being opened with a screwdriver, then the LED strip light being inserted and the connector being closed.
Connecting the Corner Connector (EE): The kit also contains corner connectors (EE) for navigating a tighter radius than the LED strip light (A) can form. To use the corner connector (EE), pry the cover latch open with a small flathead screwdriver. Insert the tip of the screwdriver into the gap between the connector base and the latch and twist. Once the latch is open, remove a small amount of the backliner of the adhesive tape from the LED strip light on top of the contacts. Line up the "+" on the LED strip light sections being connected (as shown). Close down the latch until it is locked. The contacts in the connector will pierce the contact plates in the LED strip light sections. Repeat for the other end. Note: The corner connectors (EE) may require the use of pliers to fully close and lock the latches in place.
Diagram 4: Shows the corner connector (EE) being opened with a screwdriver, then the LED strip light being inserted and the connector being closed.
Connecting the IR Controller (BB) and the LED Strip Light (A): Connect the power cord (AA) to the IR controller (BB) as shown and then connect the LED strip light (A) by lining up the arrow molded into the top of each plug end of both the IR controller (BB) and the LED strip light (A).
Diagram 5: Illustrates connecting the power cord (AA) to the IR controller (BB) and then connecting the LED strip light (A) to the IR controller (BB) by aligning the arrows.
Removing the Backing Liner of the LED Strip Light (A): Carefully apply pressure to the entire length of the LED strip light to ensure proper adhesion. The IR controller (BB) can be affixed to the mounting surface or nearby with double stick foam tape (not included). Once the strip light is adhered, do not reposition it. Doing so will reduce the adhesiveness of the strip backing.
Diagram 6: Shows the backing liner being peeled off the LED strip light and the strip being pressed onto a surface.
Final Step: Once all the connections are made and the LED strip lights are in place, plug in the power source and the lights are ready to use.
