Key Features
The EP20CKQ reader is a compact, multi-frequency RFID reader supporting over 100 RFID card types, NFC, and Bluetooth Low Energy credentials. It is designed to fit single-gang, European-standard, and Asian-standard boxes.

Front View: Features a 1 LED Indicator, 2 Touch Button, 3 Card Reading Area, 4 QR Code Scanner, 5 Mounting Hole, and 6 Tamper Switch.
Back View: Shows mounting points and the tamper switch.
Side View: Dimensions approximately 89.8mm (3.54 inches) in length and 21.9mm (0.86 inches) in width.
Bottom View: Dimensions approximately 107.8mm (4.24 inches) in length and 89.8mm (3.54 inches) in width.

Recommended Parts (Not Supplied)
- Cable: 5-10 conductor for Wiegand, or 4-conductor twisted pair, shielded, UL approved (e.g., Belden 3107A) for OSDP.
- Certified LPS DC power supply.
- Metal or plastic junction box.
- Drill with various bits for mounting hardware.

Reader Connection
The EP20CKQ series can communicate with the control panel via either RS-485 (OSDP) or Wiegand.

2. Connection via RS-485 (OSDP)
RS-485 Port Connections:
The reader connects to the control panel using +9~24V DC, GND, RS-485 B, and RS-485 A.
Install The Reader On The Wall
Follow these steps for wall installation:
- Attach the mounting template sticker to the wall, approximately 59 inches (1.5m) from the ground (adjustable). Drill holes according to the template.
- Secure the mounting plate onto the wall using the provided wall mounting screws.
- Pass the wires through the wiring hole and connect them. Then, attach the reader to the mounting plate from top to bottom.
- Fasten the reader to the mounting plate with the security Torx screw.
Note: The installation method for the EP20C series is similar. The EP20CKQ is used as an example and will not be repeated.
Using And Testing The Reader
Power On: When the reader is powered on, it will beep and the LEDs will flash.
Card Presentation: Present a card face-on to the reader until you hear a "beep". The reader is now working correctly.
Keypad: Used for PIN entry.
Scan QR Code: Area for scanning QR codes.
Card: The primary area for card reading.
Swipe Card: Indicates the action of swiping a card (though the reader is likely tap-to-read).
