Important Information
Battery
The battery installed in the watch at the factory is depleted during shipping and storage. When the first signs of insufficient power appear (dim display), the battery must be replaced at an authorized CASIO service center or dealer.
Water Resistance
For all categories of watches, the following are prohibited:
- Pressing buttons underwater.
- Setting hands underwater.
- Unscrewing the crown underwater.
If the watch is exposed to saltwater, rinse it thoroughly and dry it.
Do not wear watches with leather straps while swimming. Avoid prolonged contact of leather straps with water.
For Watches with Plastic Straps:
You may find a white powdery substance on the strap. This substance is harmless to your skin or clothing and can be easily removed by wiping with a cloth. Sweat or moisture on a plastic strap, or storage in high humidity conditions, can cause damage, breakage, or cracking. To ensure a long service life for the plastic strap, wipe it clean of dirt and moisture with a soft cloth whenever possible.
For Watches with Fluorescent Cases and Straps:
Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight may cause gradual fading of the fluorescent color. Prolonged contact with moisture may cause gradual fading of the fluorescent color. If any moisture gets on the watch surface, wipe it off as soon as possible. Prolonged contact with any other wet surface may cause discoloration of the fluorescent color. Ensure moisture is removed from the fluorescent surface and avoid contact with other surfaces.
Water Resistance Ratings
Watches are classified by rating (from I to V) according to their degree of water resistance. Check your watch's rating using the table below to determine its proper use.
Rating | Case Marking | Splashes, Rain, Washing Machine, etc. | Swimming, Light Diving | Scuba Diving, etc. |
---|---|---|---|---|
I | (No marking) | No | No | No |
II | WATER RESISTANT | Yes | No | No |
III | 50 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | No |
IV | 100 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes |
V | 200 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes |
V | 300 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Notes:
- Strong friction of a surface with applied fluorescent paint against another surface may cause transfer of the fluorescent paint to that surface.
- When using the product in conditions of rapid temperature changes, slight condensation may form on the inside of the glass. This phenomenon is due to the laws of physics and is not a defect.
- CASIO COMPUTER CO., LTD. is not responsible for any damage that may occur during the use of this watch, nor does it accept any claims from third parties.
- Watches are not protected from water. Avoid any contact with moisture.
- II WR (Water Resistant) means the model is waterproof according to ISO 2281. Brief contact with water will not cause any problems.
- With 5 Bar (50 meters) water resistance, the watch can withstand water pressure of the indicated value and can therefore be used during showering and brief swimming.
- 10 Bar (100 meters) water resistance means the watch can be used during normal swimming and snorkeling.
- 20 Bar (200 meters) water resistance means the watch can be used for scuba diving (except for depths requiring a helium-oxygen mixture).
Watch Care
Never attempt to open the case or remove the back cover yourself.
The rubber gasket protecting the watch from water and dust should be replaced every 2-3 years.
If moisture gets inside the watch, have it checked immediately by your nearest dealer or CASIO distributor.
Watches may differ slightly from the illustrations in this manual.
Setting Time and Date
Diagram Description: The watch has hour, minute, second, world time city, and alarm hands. The crown can be in a normal position, a 1st click position, or a 2nd click position.
Setting the Time
- When the second hand is at the 12 o'clock position, pull the crown out to the 2nd click. This will stop the second hand.
- Turn the crown to set the current time. Pay attention to AM/PM. The date indicator changes at midnight. If the hour hand passes the 12 o'clock position and the date indicator changes, it means the time is AM.
- Note that the following settings (up to step 8) will take some time. Before returning the crown to its original position, adjust the position of all hands.
- After setting all hands, return the crown to its original position. This will resume timekeeping.
Setting the Date
- Pull the crown out to the 1st click.
- Turn the crown to set the date.
- Return the crown to its original position.
The date indicator changes up to 31. For months with fewer than 31 days, you must change the date manually. To ensure the date switches correctly at midnight, do not change the date between 9:00 PM and 1:00 AM.
World Time
The watch can display world time for one of 24 cities (24 time zones) around the world.
Diagram Description: Illustrates the world time city hand and the main hour/minute hands. It also shows how to align the city hand with a city code.
Operation:
- Before performing the following operations, check that: the crown is in its original position (pushed all the way in); the current time is set correctly.
- Use buttons A and B to move the world time city hand to the code of the city whose time you want to know. This action will cause the world time hands to display the time in the city indicated by the world time hand.
- Example: New York (NYC)
- Diagram Description: Shows setting the world time for NYC, indicating the time difference.
