Detection Coverage

The maximum mounting height for the sensor is 15m (49.21 ft). The diagrams illustrate detection coverage at this height with 100% sensitivity.

Ceiling Mounted: Shows detection radius in feet against mounting height in feet. Areas are marked as 'Well Detected Area' and 'Possibly Detected Area'.

Wall Mounted: Also shows detection radius in feet against mounting height in feet, indicating coverage patterns.

1. Daylight Harvesting

This function allows the sensor to automatically adjust artificial light based on ambient natural light levels.

Steps:

  1. Stay in SENSOR MODE.
  2. Set STANDBY PERIOD to 0S.
  3. Set DAYLIGHT to a desired lux level (50Lux / 80Lux / 120Lux / 200Lux / 250Lux / 300Lux / 350Lux / 400Lux).
  4. Press the DAYLIGHT HARVESTING button to activate.

When ambient brightness is lower than the preset lux level, the sensor turns on the light and dims it according to ambient brightness changes. As it gets darker outside, the interior light becomes brighter.

2. Dusk/Dawn Function

The HD09VR sensor can differentiate between artificial and natural light. It automatically turns off the light when ambient brightness exceeds a preset lux level.

Steps:

  1. Set STANDBY DIM LEVEL to 10%, 20%, or 30%.
  2. Set STANDBY PERIOD to infinite (+∞).
  3. Set DAYLIGHT to a desired lux level (30Lux / 50Lux / 80Lux / 120Lux / 200Lux / 250Lux / 300Lux / 350Lux / 400Lux).

The sensor operates by detecting ambient light. When natural light is sufficient ('Lux off'), the light turns off automatically. When natural light is insufficient ('Lux on'), the light turns on automatically.

3. With Dusk/Dawn Function (Scenarios)

Scenario 1: With insufficient ambient brightness, the sensor turns on light and maintains it at the standby dimming level, even without motion. When motion is detected, the light level increases to 100%. After motion ceases, the light remains at 100% for the set hold time. Following the hold time, it dims to the standby dimming level and stays there.

Scenario 2: With sufficient ambient brightness, the sensor turns OFF the light automatically.

4. Without Daylight Disabled (Scenarios)

Scenario 1: The sensor turns ON light when motion is detected. It then stays on for the set hold time after motion ceases. After the hold time, it dims to the standby dimming level for the standby period. If the standby period is set to 0s, the sensor turns OFF the light automatically after the hold time.

Scenario 2: The sensor turns OFF light after the standby period when there is no motion detected.

5. With Daylight Threshold (Scenarios)

Scenario 1: With sufficient daylight, the sensor keeps the light OFF even if motion is detected.

Scenario 2: With insufficient daylight, the sensor turns the light ON when motion is detected. After no motion is detected, the sensor keeps the light ON at 100% for the hold time. Following the hold time, it dims to the standby dimming level for the standby period. If the standby period is set to 0s, the sensor turns OFF the light automatically after the hold time.

Scenario 3: The sensor turns OFF light automatically after the standby period when there is no motion detected.

Factory Setting

  • Detection Area: 100%
  • Holdtime: 5S

Attention

  • The sensor should be installed by a qualified electrician, ensuring power is OFF before installation.
  • Please read the instruction carefully before using the product and keep it for future reference.
  • HAISEN reserves the right to modify any incorrect text, image, and technical parameters.
  • Any unauthorized modification is forbidden; otherwise, all guarantees will be immediately invalid.
  • Product could be optimized without prior notice.

Application Notes

  • Suitable for indoor applications; outdoor environment conditions might be captured as moving signals to trigger the sensor.
  • Suitable for ceiling mount installation; adjust sensitivity properly if installed on a side-wall, as it becomes more sensitive.
  • Adjust sensitivity properly when the sensor is applied in small/narrow/metal-built spaces.
  • Microwave sensors cannot be placed under/inside a metal shell; the microwave module must directly face the detection area with its edge lower than the light fixture.
  • Keep the sensor away from vibration equipment, air-conditioning outlets, smoke extractors, and similar conditions to avoid unwanted triggers.
  • Keep the sensor module away from AC input and DC output to avoid high/low frequency signal interference.
  • Maintain at least 2m (6.5ft) distance between microwave sensors and 1.5m (4.9ft) between the sensor and other wireless devices (like routers) to avoid possible radio interference.
  • Daylight testing should be performed in bright daylight without shadows or specially designed lampshades or lenses.
  • Dimming performance may differ when connected to different drivers; if the driver cannot completely turn OFF, the sensor cannot either.
  • Input power voltage must be stable with a float less than 10%.
  • Upon the first power-on, the sensor light will be ON at 100% for about 10 seconds, then dims to standby level or OFF.
  • Distance detection is based on a testing person approximately 165cm tall in an open area; results may vary by object size, speed, mounting height, and real-life situations.
