Performance

1. Daylight Harvesting

Operation:

  1. Adjust "daylight" value higher than 50lux.
  2. Preset "standby period" 0s.
  3. Press MW/PIR button 3 times until MW/PIR icons blink on the LCD screen to enable daylight harvesting function. (With BLE version, press DH button to enable.)

Diagram illustrating the process of enabling Daylight Harvesting.

Diagram showing the effect of Daylight Harvesting: light turns ON when ambient brightness is below the preset lux level and adjusts based on brightness changes.

When ambient brightness is lower than the preset lux level, the sensor will turn on the light automatically and keep dimming according to the change of the ambient brightness. As the outside gets darker, the inside light becomes brighter, and vice versa.

The light turns OFF when ambient brightness becomes higher than the preset lux level.

2. Dusk/Dawn Function

HD08VR is able to differentiate artificial light brightness from natural light after installation inside the fixture, and automatically turn off light when ambient brightness exceeds the preset lux level.

Precondition of Dusk/Dawn function:

  1. Standby period is +∞.
  2. Standby dimming level is set to 10%, 20%, or 30%.
  3. Daylight threshold is set to 30lux, 50lux, 80lux, 120lux, 200Lux, 250Lux, 300Lux, 350Lux, or 400Lux.

Diagram illustrating the preconditions for the Dusk/Dawn function.

3. With Dusk/Dawn Function

Illustration showing the sensor behavior with the Dusk/Dawn function enabled: light turns ON at standby dimming level with insufficient ambient brightness, even without motion.

With insufficient ambient brightness, the sensor turns on the light and keeps it at the standby dimming level even if there is no motion or presence.

Illustration showing the sensor behavior when motion is detected: light level increases to 100%.

When the sensor detects motion or presence, it will bring the light level up to 100%.

Illustration showing the sensor behavior after motion ceases: light remains at 100% for the hold time.

After motion is no longer detected, the fixture remains at 100% for the hold time.

Illustration showing the sensor behavior after hold time: light dims to standby dimming level and stays there.

After the pre-set hold time period, it will dim the light to the standby dimming level and always keep it.

Illustration showing the sensor behavior with sufficient ambient brightness: light turns OFF automatically.

With sufficient ambient brightness, the sensor will turn OFF the light automatically.

4. Without Daylight Disabled

Illustration showing sensor behavior without daylight disabled: light turns ON upon motion detection.

Sensor turns ON light when motion is detected.

Illustration showing sensor behavior: light stays ON for hold time after motion ceases.

Sensor keeps the light ON for a hold time period after motion leaves.

Illustration showing sensor behavior: light dims to standby level if no motion persists.

Sensor dims light to standby dimming level after hold time if there is still no motion.

Illustration showing sensor behavior: light turns OFF after standby period.

Sensor turns OFF light after standby period.

5. With Daylight Threshold

Illustration showing sensor behavior with Daylight Threshold: light remains OFF even with motion detected if daylight is sufficient.

With sufficient daylight, the sensor keeps the light OFF even when motion is detected.

Illustration showing sensor behavior with Daylight Threshold: light turns ON when motion is detected if daylight is insufficient.

With insufficient daylight, the sensor turns the light ON when motion is detected.

Illustration showing sensor behavior after motion ceases: light stays ON at 100% for hold time.

After there's no motion detected, the sensor keeps the light ON at 100% for the hold time.

Illustration showing sensor behavior after hold time: light dims to standby level or turns OFF if standby period is 0s.

After hold time, the sensor dims the light to the standby dimming level for the standby period. If the standby period has been set as 0s, the sensor turns the light OFF automatically after hold time.

Illustration showing sensor behavior: light turns OFF automatically after standby period with no motion.

The sensor turns OFF the light automatically after the standby period when there's no motion detected.

Diagram illustrating the Dusk/Dawn function: light turns ON automatically when natural light brightness drops below the preset lux level and turns OFF automatically when it rises above it.

Attention

  1. The sensor should be installed by a qualified electrician, and power must be OFF before installation.
  2. Please read the instructions carefully before using the product and keep them for future reference.
  3. Shenzhen Haisen Technology Co., Ltd. reserves the right to modify any incorrect text, images, and technical parameters.
  4. Any unauthorized modification is forbidden; otherwise, all guarantees will be immediately invalid.
  5. Product may be optimized without prior notice.

APPLICATION NOTES

  1. Suitable for indoor applications; half/completely outdoor environment conditions might trigger the sensor.
  2. Suitable for ceiling mount installation. Adjust sensitivity properly if installed on a side wall, as it becomes more sensitive.
  3. The PIR sensor cannot be installed inside any material; the Fresnel lens must be completely exposed to air.
  4. The Fresnel lens of the PIR sensor must be lower than the light fixture.
  5. Not suitable for environments with sudden changes in temperature or airflow for the PIR sensor.
  6. Not suitable for environments where shelves block the sensor's view of the presence area.
  7. Detection area options may not work obviously as they depend on the Fresnel lens, which physically defines the detection pattern.
  8. Detection distance performance is better when moving parallelly to the sensor than moving directly towards it.
  9. Daylight testing is conducted in bright daylight without shadows or specially designed lampshades or lenses.
  10. Dimming performance may differ when connected to different drivers. If the driver cannot turn OFF completely, the sensor also cannot.
  11. Input power voltage must be stable with a float less than 10%.
  12. The first time the sensor is powered ON, the light will be ON at 100% for approximately 45 seconds, then dim to standby level or OFF.
  13. Distance detection is based on testing with a person approximately 165 cm tall in an open area as a reference. Results may differ based on the size and speed of moving objects, mounting height, and real-life situations.
