- The Digital Backup Camera is an aid for detecting hazardous conditions and obstructions. Always drive safely and properly; it is not a substitute for safe driving practices.
- Never back up solely by looking at the monitor. Always check behind and around the vehicle. Back up slowly and with caution.
- Do not depend entirely on the Backup Camera. The displayed image may differ from actual conditions due to wide-angle lens distortion. Use it as an aid and follow intended driving practices.
- The low lux lighting performance feature is an aid. Always use your own eyes to confirm surroundings, as the image may not be well-lit or entirely visible. Proceed with caution and perform double-checks.
- The camera's displayed area is limited; it does not show objects close to or below the bumper, or outside its view. The view can change with vehicle orientation or road conditions.
- Ensure the camera is functioning properly, positioned, and securely mounted every time you operate the vehicle.
- Ensure your trunk or hatch operates correctly before and after installation.
- Proceed with caution when cleaning around the camera. Avoid excess water exposure.
- Keep the camera clean and unobstructed.
- Follow all traffic laws and motor vehicle regulations.
- Consult local laws for installation/use restrictions.

System Installation and Wiring
Note: Camera system installation on diesel vehicles may require different wiring.
Caution: Connecting to other electrical systems can damage your vehicle. Contact the manufacturer if unsure of your vehicle's system type. Refer to model power requirements before installation.
QUICK INSTALLATION
This rearview backup camera system includes camera and installation wiring. The camera is preferably mounted at the rear of your vehicle (above the license plate). The kit includes necessary wiring and connectors for typical connections; additional materials may be needed for secure performance.
Camera Connection
Connect the camera using the included DC 12V power cable to the vehicle's reverse tail light (positive 12V). Connect the black wire to ground. This cable connects to the camera, supplying power.
Next, run the included yellow RCA video connector cable from the camera to your display monitor. The yellow RCA cable retrieves the video signal when the vehicle is put into reverse gear.
Installation Transcript
- Locate the reverse taillight wiring behind the vehicle's reverse light (may require removing an interior panel). Connect the included 12V DC power cable to the reverse light.
- Connect the power cable's Red wire to the vehicle's reverse light positive wire.
- Connect the power cable's Black wire to the vehicle's reverse light negative wire.
- Connect the camera to this reverse light connection and mount it in the desired location.
- Run the RCA video cable from the camera to your compatible video display monitor.
* Run cables unobtrusively. Secure all cables and wiring to prevent damage from vibrations or bumpy driving.
* Ensure wires are safely and securely connected with proper isolation.
Additional Notes:
- Determine the best camera location (preferably above the license plate).
- Leave some slack in connection cables to allow for camera positioning adjustments.
- Test the camera before use. Placing the vehicle in reverse should display a picture in the rearview mirror assembly.
Angle Adjustable Camera Lens
- Two screws on the camera housing lock the lens angle. Loosen these screws to adjust the angle, then tighten securely.
- Be sure not to overtighten the screws.
