This unit is based on the Android 4.4.4 platform. In addition to the standard Apps provided, you can download and install thousands of other Apps. Please note that not all Apps are compatible with this platform. For any compatibility issues with a 3rd party App, please contact the App provider. For operation instructions of a 3rd party App, please also contact the App provider. Pyle is not responsible for any problems arising from your use of 3rd party Apps.

To fully enjoy the unit's features and ensure proper and safe operation, please read this manual thoroughly before use. Pay close attention to all system warnings and precautions. Keep this manual in a safe place for future reference. For service, repair, or technical support, contact your dealer or the nearest authorized repair center.

Compatibility

This unit is a standard "Double Din" sized radio. Verify that your vehicle accepts a double DIN sized radio. This unit conforms to standard double DIN size and dimensions. Your vehicle may require a vehicle-specific or 3rd party double DIN installation kit.

Precautions & Warnings

Please read this booklet and heed all precautions for a positive user experience. For your safety, do not operate the head unit's controls while driving. Ensure the volume is set to a level where external sounds are still audible.

Do not watch the monitor or attempt to operate multi-media features while driving. If the parking brake is not engaged, video playback will be disabled for your safety.

Cleaning

Clean the LCD with a slightly damp cloth. Keep the screen clean and free of debris. Do not use solvents such as alcohol, benzene, thinner, commercial cleaners, or anti-static spray. Avoid scratching the screen surface when wiping.

Temperature

In cold weather, check for condensation on the disc. If found, wipe the moisture and do not operate the player for an hour until condensation disappears from the optical reader.

System Handling

The screen may not be clear in extreme cold or hot temperatures; it will return to normal as the car's temperature stabilizes. Never touch the screen with anything other than your finger(s). Direct sunlight and glare can cause the unit to overheat, potentially damaging the LCD. Avoid exposing the display to excessive sunlight.

Note: Driving on rough terrain may cause the disc to skip during playback.

In case of malfunction, do not open the unit or lubricate parts. Contact Sound Around USA for repair information. If liquid or foreign substances enter the unit, turn off the power immediately and consult your dealer or an authorized repair center. If you notice smoke, irregular noises, or smells, power off immediately and consult your dealer or an authorized repair center. Do not attempt to disassemble or modify the unit, as it contains sensitive high-voltage electronic components. Consult your dealer or an authorized repair center for technical assistance.

This equipment has been tested and complies with Class B digital device limits per Part 15 of FCC rules. These limits provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in residential installations. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy. Improper installation or use may cause harmful interference to radio communications. Users experiencing interference are encouraged to consult an experienced radio technician.

System Installation

Before starting:

To prevent short circuits, disconnect the battery terminal before starting.

Installation Guide - Double Din Fitting:

Caution:

  1. This screen opens up. Install the unit within 30 degrees of the horizontal plane. Ensure the screen has enough room to fully open; restricting movement can damage the mechanism.
  2. Consult your vehicle dealership before making any modifications to your car's body (e.g., drilling holes).
  3. Use the included screws for installation. Improper hardware may result in damage.

*Ensure that the opening or closing of the in-dash unit, when mounted, does not interfere with your vehicle's interior panels, consoles, gearshifts, etc. Avoid using elongated screws when installing/securing your unit to the in-dash console to prevent damage.

Installing Steps

Installing Steering Wheel Control

Note on Compatibility: This unit features a dual-wire code learning Steering Wheel Interface, adaptable to any vehicle with existing steering wheel controls. It can wire directly to your vehicle's steering wheel column and may require a 3rd party steering wheel control interface. Pyle Audio Technical Support can assist with interfacing into vehicles with existing controls. For help, contact Pyle Technical Support, providing your vehicle's Year, Make, Model, and options.

Key 1 and Key 2 wires are used for setting up steering wheel controls. The location of these wires in the steering wheel column varies by make and model.

Steering Wheel Controls

In the application, select the command, then press the corresponding button on the wheel to teach the unit. To enter the steering wheel menu, you will be prompted for a 4-digit passcode; enter '0000'. You can then manually program each desired option following the on-screen instructions. (Note: This feature is not compatible with all vehicle types).

Remote Control

Factory batteries may be depleted from extended storage. Replace batteries if the unit does not respond to the remote. Pyle remotes are universal and may not have all functions available on every radio model. If some functions do not respond, the remote is not defective. Tips:

Navi: You might have several maps. Pressing the Navi button enters the default map. To change the map, go to Setting ➡️ Car setting ➡️ Navi setting.

TURNING POWER ON

  1. Turn the engine key to the "ACC" or "ON" position.
  2. Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds.
  3. When the engine key is turned off, the unit turns off.

SETTINGS

  1. Scrolling: Use the red bar to scroll through available options.
  2. Turn on/off: Many settings can be toggled on or off.

*Note: Factory setup is not user-adjustable. Do not attempt to enter this setup menu.

SET TIME

  1. Time Options: Select GPS time or network-provided time.
  2. Date and Time: Use up/down arrows to set the date and time.
  3. Select time zone accordingly.

SOUND

  1. Fade/Balance: Hold and drag to control audio output fade and balance.

AUX

Auxiliary input (rear RCA jacks) allow audio and video from external devices. Auxiliary output (rear RCA jacks) send audio and video to external devices.

  1. Customization: Use settings to adjust and optimize display quality.

Note: The Auxiliary app displays "No Signal" if no video signal is connected. Screen controls are inactive until an external video signal is detected.

CALENDAR

Note: The Calendar app does not allow appointment entry. Dates must be set within system settings.

CALCULATOR

A handy app for simple calculations.

EQ - EQUALIZER

Diagram Description: The EQ screen shows sliders for "USER", "Loud", and "SubWoofer". A "Sound" section displays multiple sliders, each labeled with a number from 0 to 0. A "Tip" box explains how to use the EQ.

Presets: Select one to automatically adjust the equalizer.

Adjustments: Hold and drag up or down to manually adjust the EQ by each frequency band.

RADIO

  1. Scanning: Press, hold, and drag the slider to quickly tune the radio.
  2. Current Station: The selected station displays in the center. Press forward/back arrows to change stations.
  3. Favorite Stations: Press and hold one of the six preset slots to save a station.

SD - FLASH MEMORY FILE BROWSING

Warning: Do not attempt to browse files while operating the vehicle.

  1. Browsing Files: File location is displayed. Use the "Back Arrow" ⬅️ to return to the previous folder.
  2. Selecting Files: Files and folders are displayed. Select a folder and press the "check icon" ✔️ to open.

USB - FLASH MEMORY FILE BROWSING

Plug in flash drives to access music, video, and photos.

VIDEO

  1. Brightness, Contrast, Hue: Press, hold, and drag to adjust display settings.
  2. Presets: Select to automatically adjust display settings.

WALLPAPER

Note: Wallpapers can be imported from a flash drive or SD card. Check format sheet online for specs. 1. Browse: Use left/right arrows ⬅️➡️ to select wallpaper. 2. Select: Press OK to select wallpaper.

For detailed operation instructions for 3rd party Apps (e.g., Google Maps, YouTube), please contact the respective App provider.

TROUBLE SHOOTING

Q: Unit doesn't power up
A: Use a multi-meter to check for 12V+ on red and yellow wires. Check for proper Ground on the black wire.

Q: My video does not play
A: Attach the "PARK" wire to the parking brake. Grounding this wire enables video playback.

Q: Reverse camera does not come up on the screen
A: Attach the "BACK UP CAMERA" wire to the reverse tail light 12V+. Ensure the camera is sending a video signal.

Q: Can I set up steering wheel control?
A: Key 1 and Key 2 wires need to be wired to your vehicle's steering wheel column.

Q: The time I set is not saved after device reboot
A: Check if other settings are saved. If not, verify the yellow memory wire is attached to a 12V+ constant source. Turn off GPS auto-update: Go to Radio settings ➡️ Set Time ➡️ Switch off auto-update.

Q: My GPS gets no reception.
A: Check antenna connection. Mount the antenna directly to your vehicle (magnetic mounting boosts reception). Check alternate antenna placement to test for interference.

Q: How do I turn up GPS instruction volume?
A: Go to Navi ➡️ Settings ➡️ Sounds ➡️ Set GPS voice level to max. Adjust radio volume accordingly.

Q: How do I update my map card?
A: The radio will notify you when a map update is available. Request a new map card from Pyle parts department via www.PyleUSA.com "Contact Us" ticket.

Q: Where can I download firmware updates?

Q: How do I use / set-up RDS?

Q: My Bluetooth microphone is not working as expected
A: Check that nothing covers the microphone port. Test proximity to the mic. Ensure phone connection is good. Verify the call recipient's speaker volume is appropriate. Check for excessive background noise. Note: The built-in mic cannot be changed, replaced, or upgraded.

Q: I am having trouble setting up Bluetooth
A: Ensure your device is Bluetooth 4.0+ compatible. Try pairing with alternate devices. Clear your device history in Bluetooth settings and attempt to pair again.

Q: My Map card no longer loads (COCKPIT ERROR DISPLAYED)
A: This is likely a map software bug. Contact Pyle Tech Support at www.PyleUSA.com. Alternatively, try fixing the software: Insert GPS card into computer, open text file under Primo\save\profiles\01\system.ini, and edit the file to return the cockpit type to "1". Deleting the profile folder resets settings to cockpit number 1.

Q: How do I play video files? My unit cannot read my digital video files.
A: Ensure the SD card is compatible. Check the file format; you may need to convert the video file to an alternate format.

Q: My unit shows 5 circles and will not load
A: Your unit requires touchscreen calibration. Enter the 'Touch Screen Calibration Menu'. An "X" will appear in numbered circles; press the center of each "X" as it moves. If calibration fails, the process may restart.

DVD

The DVD app opens only when a compatible DVD disc is detected.

1. Scrubbing

Press and drag along the timeline to skip through DVD playback. (Note: DVD formatting may not allow scrubbing through previews and warnings).

BLUETOOTH

The Bluetooth app allows pairing with compatible devices for calls and music playback. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone and disconnected from other devices before pairing.

In the Bluetooth app, press the "Gear" icon ⚙️ to access settings, then the "Magnifying glass" icon ? to enter pair mode. The radio will display "searching" and list nearby compatible devices.

Note: Once paired, other functions within the Bluetooth app are available.

HOW TO ACCESS INTERNET

You have three ways to access the internet:

  1. Use a 3G dongle: Insert a USB 3G dongle into a rear USB port. The 3G signal icon will appear on the status bar.
  2. Use your smartphone as hotspot: Turn on your smartphone's hotspot, then turn on Wi-Fi on the car unit and connect to your phone's hotspot.
  3. Use car Wi-Fi router or portable Wi-Fi router: Use these as a hotspot for internet access.

VEHICLE BLACKBOX DVR

Video Recording

  1. Press the record icon ? to start recording; a red indicator ? shows when recording.
  2. The upper left corner displays the recorded video time.

Setting

  1. Press the settings icon ⚙️ to enter DVR settings.
  2. Settings are unavailable while recording.

  1. After changing camera types, original parameters may not apply. Restore default parameters if recording fails.
  2. If recording fails due to setting changes, try restoring the default state.

Video List

  1. Press ◀️ or slide the screen to enter the DVR video list.
  2. Each list item shows a video preview thumbnail. File name and time period are displayed.
  3. Short press a video to play; long press to delete.

INSTALLATION

REAR VIEW BACKUP CAMERA INSTALLATION

Please read all installation instructions carefully before installing. Improper installation voids the manufacturer's warranty. These instructions are guidelines; consult an experienced technician if uncomfortable. Read the safety information in this manual before use. Alterations without authorization may invalidate your right to operate the equipment.

WARNING: Failure to follow these warnings may result in serious injury or property damage. Pay close attention and exercise utmost care.

System Installation and Wiring

Note: Camera system installation on diesel vehicles may require different wiring.

Caution: Connecting to other electrical systems can damage your vehicle. Contact the manufacturer if unsure of your vehicle's system type. Refer to model power requirements before installation.

QUICK INSTALLATION

This rearview backup camera system includes camera and installation wiring. The camera is preferably mounted at the rear of your vehicle (above the license plate). The kit includes necessary wiring and connectors for typical connections; additional materials may be needed for secure performance.

Camera Connection

Connect the camera using the included DC 12V power cable to the vehicle's reverse tail light (positive 12V). Connect the black wire to ground. This cable connects to the camera, supplying power.

Next, run the included yellow RCA video connector cable from the camera to your display monitor. The yellow RCA cable retrieves the video signal when the vehicle is put into reverse gear.

Installation Transcript

  1. Locate the reverse taillight wiring behind the vehicle's reverse light (may require removing an interior panel). Connect the included 12V DC power cable to the reverse light.
    • Connect the power cable's Red wire to the vehicle's reverse light positive wire.
    • Connect the power cable's Black wire to the vehicle's reverse light negative wire.
  2. Connect the camera to this reverse light connection and mount it in the desired location.
  3. Run the RCA video cable from the camera to your compatible video display monitor.

* Run cables unobtrusively. Secure all cables and wiring to prevent damage from vibrations or bumpy driving.

* Ensure wires are safely and securely connected with proper isolation.

Angle Adjustable Camera Lens

PHONE LINK SOFTWARE

This phone link software is developed by a 3rd party developer and provided free of charge. As mobile phone manufacturers upgrade their systems, this device may not be compatible with newer operating systems. Pyle is not responsible for such incompatibilities.

Easyconnected, developed by Wuhan Carbit Information Co., Ltd., enables interconnection between a mobile phone and a vehicle navigator via USB or Wi-Fi. It projects the phone screen to the navigator, allowing phone operation on the navigator, transforming it into an intelligent vehicle-mounted system.

3. Important

3.1. Enable USB debugging

Before connecting Easyconnected to an Android mobile phone, ensure "USB Debugging" is enabled in the phone's settings. Refer to section 7.1 for instructions.
