Important Notes and Warnings
- This product is not for use in microwave ovens.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Do not touch hot probes or wires with bare hands, especially after cooking. Always wear a [heat-resistant-glove].
- Do not expose probes directly to flame, as this will damage the wires.
- When not in use, slide the mode selector switch to the OFF [power-off] position to conserve battery.
- Use a good quality alkaline battery and replace it often. A weak battery can reduce accuracy. Dispose of exhausted batteries safely.
- While a food thermometer aids in proper food preparation, it does not guard against unsafe food handling practices. Always follow proper food preparation techniques to limit the risk of foodborne illness.
- The stainless-steel wire probe should not be exposed to oven temperatures exceeding 716°F (380°C).
- Avoid direct contact between probes or cables and oven elements to prevent faulty readings or damage.
- If the temperature exceeds or falls below measurable ranges, the LCD screen will display "HHH" (above range) or "LLL" (below range).
- If a probe is not inserted into food and placed directly in the oven, oven temperatures above 200°F (93°C) will be accurate within 2°F to 5°F (1.1°C to 2.7°C).
Operating Instructions: Using the Cooking Thermometer
- Clean the stainless temperature probe with hot water and soap, then rinse. Do not submerge the probe and cable in water, as they are not [waterproof].
- Plug Probe 1 and/or 2 into the corresponding sockets on the right side of the device. Ensure the probe cable is free of knots and the sensor plug is fully inserted. If not properly plugged or crimped, the display will show "---".
- Use the switch on the back to select temperature display in °F or °C.
- Set the mode selector switch to the Cook mode [cook-mode]. The screen will show two temperatures per row (Probe 1 and Probe 2), with the actual reading on the right and the set temperature on the left.
- Set desired cooking temperatures for Probe 1 and 2 using Quick Temperature Setting or User-defined Temperature Setting.
- Insert the probe tip at least 2 inches (5 cm) into the thickest part of the meat, avoiding bone or gristle. Two probes can be used simultaneously.
- Place food into the oven. Ensure enough slack in the cable to prevent the probe from being pulled out when the oven door is closed. Position the device outside the oven on a stable surface, firmly connected to the probes.
- Do not place the device on a hot surface to prevent damage.
- An audible alert will sound when the food reaches the set temperature. Press any button to silence the alert.
- Before removing food, disconnect the cables. Do not touch hot probes or wires with bare hands. Always wear a [heat-resistant-glove].
