Installation and Pairing
Installing Batteries
Open the battery compartment of the receiver and insert two "AAA" batteries with correct polarity. Open the battery compartment of the transmitter and insert two "AAA" batteries with correct polarity.
Turn On/Off Unit
Press the power button ► on the receiver to turn it ON/OFF. Press the °F/°C button on the transmitter to turn it ON/OFF.
Synchronize/Pair Transmitter and Receiver
The transmitter and receiver are usually pre-paired at the manufacturing facility. You typically do NOT need to re-synchronize or re-pair the units. Simply plug in the probes, insert batteries, turn on the receiver and transmitter, and wait a few seconds for temperatures to display. If the units are no longer paired, follow these steps:
- Insert the stainless steel probes into the corresponding plugs in the transmitter.
- Turn on the transmitter by pressing the °F/°C button. The transmitter will show current temperatures on its LCD.
- Turn on the receiver by pressing the power button ►.
- Press and hold the MODE button on the receiver for 2-3 seconds to enter synchronization mode (lasts 60 seconds). The display will show "---" and flash.
- Wait until temperature readings appear on the receiver display, indicating synchronization is complete.
Note: Synchronization is not lost even if batteries are replaced.
Alerts and Features
Loss Link Alert
If the receiver is out of range or experiences interference, or if the transmitter is turned off, the receiver may not receive the signal. After 4 minutes, the unit will alert you of a lost signal. Pressing any button on the receiver stops the beep. To regain signal, move the receiver closer to the transmitter.
Auto Off Feature
The receiver automatically turns off if it hasn't received a temperature signal from the transmitter for over 30 minutes (a beep sounds for one minute before shutdown). This feature is disabled if the timer is running.

Helpful Hints and Cautions
Helpful Hints
- If the receiver/transmitter displays LLL or HHH, wait for the probe to reach room temperature. If the issue persists, check probe jack connections. A faulty wire may be shorted due to moisture or heat.
- Do not immerse probes in water during cleaning.
- Do not allow probe wires to contact flames.
- For warranty issues, contact customer service for return instructions.
- If temperature seems too high or increases too quickly, ensure the probe tip is not poking through the food. Reposition it in the thickest part, avoiding bone or heavy fat.
Cautions
- Always wear heat-resistant gloves when handling hot probes or wires. Do not touch with bare hands.
- Keep probes and wires away from children.
- Clean probes with hot soapy water and dry thoroughly. Do not immerse probes in water.
- The unit is not waterproof. Do not use in rain. The transmitter is water-resistant but not waterproof.
- Do not expose probe plugs or transmitter sockets to water or liquid, as this can cause bad connections and faulty readings.
- Do not expose the receiver or transmitter to direct heat.
- Do not use stainless steel probes in a microwave oven.
- The thermometer registers temperatures from 32°F (0°C) to 572°F (300°C). LLL displays below 32°F, HHH above 572°F. Do not use probes above 572°F as it may damage the wire.
- Not intended for use by persons aged 12 and under.
Cleaning
- Wear heat-resistant gloves when handling hot probes or wires.
- Keep probes and wires away from children.
- Clean probe tips with hot soapy water and dry thoroughly. Do not immerse probes in water.
- Wipe the transmitter and receiver with a damp cloth. Do not immerse in water.
