Troubleshooting

Important Safeguards

  1. Read all instructions.
  2. Familiarize yourself with all warning and caution definitions.
  3. Remind all family members of the safety precautions.
  4. Limit access to the interior assembly of the lock and routinely verify the settings to ensure they have not been altered without your knowledge.
  5. Protect your user codes and master code.
  6. Dispose of batteries according to local laws and regulations.

CAUTION: Prevent unauthorized entry. This lock contains a default master code and user code. After installation and setup, replace both codes with your own codes. Because anyone with access to the interior assembly can reset the lock and change the user codes, you must restrict access to the back panel and routinely check both codes to ensure your own user codes have not been altered without your knowledge.

WARNING: Kwikset makes no representations that this lock can provide complete security by itself. This lock can be defeated by forcible or technical means, or evaded by entry on another part of the property. No lock can be substituted for caution, awareness of your surroundings, and common sense. Hardware may be purchased from locksmiths in varying degrees of performance to fit the application. To enhance security and reduce risk, you should consult with a qualified locksmith or other security professional.
