The Fitbit Charge 6 is compatible with most phones running Android 9.0 or later, or iOS 15 or later. A Google account, the Fitbit app, and internet access are required. Some features may require a paid subscription. For more information, visit fitbit.com/devices.

  1. Download and install the Fitbit app from your device's app store.
  2. Open the Fitbit app and tap "Set up Fitbit".
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to create a Fitbit account and pair your Fitbit device with your phone. Pairing ensures your Fitbit device and phone can communicate (sync data) with each other.

Activity and GPS

Full workout statistics and a workout intensity map, if you used GPS, are available by tapping the Exercise prompt in the Fitbit app.

For more information on recording activities with GPS, see the related help topic.

YouTube Music Control

Control music on your workouts directly from your wrist with YouTube Music control. Play, pause, and skip more than 100 million songs from the world's largest music catalog. Get music recommendations based on your activity. YouTube Music control requires a paid YouTube Music Premium subscription. You can try it free for 1 month. Your compatible phone must be within Bluetooth range of your Fitbit device to use this feature. It works with most phones running Android 9 or iOS 15 or later. A Google account and internet access are required.

Heart Rate Zones

Your Charge 6 adapts your heart rate zones to your heart rate reserve, which is the difference between your maximum heart rate and your resting heart rate. To help target your workout intensity based on your preference during exercise, check your heart rate and heart rate zone on the tracker. Your Charge 6 will notify you when you enter a heart rate zone.

For more information, see the related help topic.

Heart Rate on Equipment

Connect your Charge 6 to your favorite fitness equipment and see your heart rate in real-time on the screen. Compatible with fitness equipment that supports the Bluetooth heart rate profile, such as the latest iFit, Nordictrack, Peloton, Concept2, and Strava models. However, not all Bluetooth-enabled devices and apps work the same way. Heart rate information is unencrypted, similar to a heart rate monitor strap.

For more information, see the related help topic.

Sleep

Wear your Charge 6 to bed to automatically track your sleep statistics, including your time to fall asleep, sleep stages (time spent in REM, light, and deep sleep), and your sleep score (your sleep quality). The Charge 6 also records estimated oxygen variation during the night to help you identify potential breathing disturbances, as well as your skin temperature to see how it differs from your baseline temperature, and SpO2 levels, which estimate the amount of oxygen in your blood.

To view your sleep statistics, sync your tracker when you wake up and view them in the Fitbit app or swipe up on the tracker's clock screen. For more information, see the related help topic.

Payments

Add your credit and debit cards to select Fitbit devices to make contactless payments directly from your device, even when you're traveling abroad. Google Pay protects your payment information with multiple layers of security using one of the world's most advanced security infrastructures to keep your account safe. When paying in stores, Google Pay does not share your card number, keeping your information secure. If you use contactless payments on your Fitbit device, you must use a personal 4-digit PIN for added security. To confirm a payment, enter your PIN code the first time you make a contactless payment after removing your device from your wrist, or if it has been 24 hours since your last payment. Google apps and services may not be available in all countries or languages. Data charges may apply.

For more information, see the related help topic.
