Setup
Step 1: Connect the Microphone
Connect the USB-C cable to the JLab Audio TALK GO microphone. Then, connect the other end to your PC or Mac's USB-A input port.
Step 2: Ensure Connection
Connect your PC or Mac to set up the device and ensure a stable connection.
Step 3: Configure TALK GO on PC/MAC
PC Setup (Windows 7, 8, or 10)
- From the Start menu, select Control Panel.
- In the Control Panel, select the Sound icon.
- Go to the Recording tab and select 'JLab Talk GO' as the input device.
- Go to the Playback tab and select 'JLab Talk GO' as the output device.
Mac Setup (macOS 10.10 or later)
- Open System Preferences and select the Sound icon.
- Select the Input tab and choose 'JLab Talk GO'.
- Select the Output tab and choose 'JLab Talk GO'.
- Adjust the output volume to your desired level using the slider on this screen.
Controls
Microphone Base Controls
- Volume Control: Adjusts microphone input volume.
- Mute On/Off: A quick press toggles mute.
- Start/Stop Recording: Press and hold to begin or end recording.
- 3.5MM Aux Output: For connecting headphones or speakers.
- USB-C Input: For connecting to your computer.
- LED Control: Manages the microphone's LED indicator.
Polar Patterns
Cardioid Pattern
Description: Records sound primarily from the front of the microphone, ideal for vocals or single sound sources.
Omnidirectional Pattern
Description: Captures sound equally from all directions, suitable for group discussions or ambient sound.
Mute Function
Description: Silences the microphone input.
In Use
Microphone Placement
For optimal audio capture, position the microphone correctly. Avoid placing it too far away or at an angle that captures unwanted background noise.
Compatibility and Power
- The TALK GO is compatible with most recording software on macOS, Windows, or Linux. Configure settings within your chosen software.
- No additional drivers or software are required. Plug in and configure via device settings.
- The TALK GO requires a USB-A port with an operating system for power and data transfer. It cannot be powered by a power bank or battery pack.
