1.0 General Warnings and Information
WARNING! Can cause SEVERE INJURY and DEATH:
- Failure to follow these instructions and label instructions may cause serious injury or death to a child by impact with the vehicle interior during a sudden stop or crash.
- Even if the booster seat appears easy to assemble, it is important to read the instructions and the vehicle owner's manual for details you might be missing.
- Instructions in this manual and the vehicle owner's manual must be followed carefully. If there are contradictions between them, the vehicle owner's manual should prevail.
- Not using or improperly adjusting the vehicle seat belt can cause your child to strike the vehicle interior during a sudden stop or crash, leading to severe injury or death.
- Do not allow others (babysitters, friends, grandparents, etc.) to use this booster seat unless they read and understand the instructions and labels.
- Use only accessories manufactured by Baby Trend. The use of accessories can affect the child's safety in a sudden stop or crash.
- Do not modify or attach toys, pads, or other items to this booster seat. Modifications or filler pads that have not been tested may cause injury in a crash.
- Ensure this booster seat is secured with the vehicle seat belt at all times (even if no child is in the seat). An unsecured child restraint system can injure someone in a crash.
- Direct sunlight can heat the booster seat surfaces enough to burn your child. Be careful on hot, sunny days.
- NEVER leave a child unsupervised.
- DO NOT use the booster seat if it has been in a crash (it may have hidden damage and must be replaced). Your insurance company may provide assistance for replacement.
- DO NOT use this booster seat if it is damaged in any way or missing parts.
- Do not continue using this booster seat after 9 years from its manufacture date printed on the label on the bottom of the seat.
- Secure the restraint system with a lap and shoulder belt.

4.2 Proper Installation:
- The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) alerts vehicle owners that, according to accident statistics, children under 13 years of age are safer in rear seats than in front seats.

- Use the booster seat in the rear seats of the vehicle whenever possible.
- Never place a booster seat in a front seat unless recommended by the vehicle owner's manual.

6.2 Safe Practices:
For assistance with installation or use, contact one of the following options:
- Baby Trend: Phone: 1-800-328-7363. Email: www.babytrend.com
- A Child Passenger Safety (CPS) technician in your area. To find a CPS technician, go to www.nhtsa.dot.gov, select “Child Passenger Safety,” and then select “Technician Contact Locator.” Or attend a seat check event. For locations and times of seat check events: Go to www.nhtsa.dot.gov and select “Child Seat Inspections.” Go to www.seatcheck.org. Call 1-866-SEAT CHECK (1-866-732-8243).
EVERYONE must buckle up or the vehicle WILL NOT start! NO EXCEPTIONS for children or adults!
- If someone unbuckles their belt, the vehicle BRAKES! Being firm and consistent will result in fewer discipline problems as children grow. A person not wearing a belt can be thrown and injure other passengers.
- NEVER try to attend to a crying child while driving. Never remove a child from a restraint system to comfort them while the vehicle is in motion.
- DO NOT allow the child to slide down under the lap belt or place the shoulder belt under their arm or behind their back.
- DO NOT allow the child to have lollipops, popsicles, or other items with sticks. These items can injure your child in a sudden stop or crash.
- Place heavy or sharp objects in the trunk. Loose objects can be fatal in a crash.
