Configuration
Power Requirements
Connect the adapter plugs in the following order:
Diagram: [DC IN Jack] ➔ [AC Adapter] ➔ [AC Outlet]
Warning: Use only the supplied or specified AC adapter. Using other AC adapters may damage the instrument or cause overheating. When using an AC adapter with a removable connector, ensure the connector remains attached to the AC adapter. Using the plug alone could cause electric shock or fire. Do not touch the metal section when connecting the plug. To prevent electric shock, short circuits, or damage, carefully check for dust between the AC adapter and the plug.
Diagram: [Adapter plug sliding into socket]
The shape of the plug and socket differs by country.
Warning: When installing the product, ensure the AC outlet used is easily accessible. In case of problems or malfunctions, immediately turn off the device and disconnect the plug from the outlet.
Note: To disconnect the AC adapter, follow this procedure in reverse order.
Powering On/Off
- Set the volume to minimum.
- Press the [POWER] switch to turn on the instrument.
When the instrument is on, the power indicator light next to the power switch illuminates. While playing the keyboard, adjust the volume level using the [VOLUME] slider.
To turn off the instrument, press the [POWER] switch again for one second.
Warning: Even when the power switch is off, a small amount of current continues to power the product. If you plan not to use the product for an extended period, be sure to disconnect the power cord from the wall AC outlet.
Auto Power Off Function
To prevent unnecessary power consumption, this function automatically turns off the instrument if no buttons or keys are pressed for approximately 30 minutes. For settings related to the Auto Power Off function, see page 10.
Disabling Auto Power Off (Simple Method)
While holding down the lowest key (A-1), press the [POWER] switch (Standby/On). The instrument will remain on when the Auto Power Off function is disabled.
Diagram: [Lowest key (A-1)] + [POWER switch]
Using a Footswitch or Pedal
The [SUSTAIN] jack allows connection of the included footswitch, which functions the same as the damper pedal of an acoustic piano. You can also connect a separately sold pedal or footswitch to this jack (page 15).
Notes:
- Ensure the instrument is turned off when connecting or disconnecting the footswitch or pedal.
- Do not press the footswitch when turning on the instrument. This reverses the footswitch polarity, causing it to function in reverse.

Troubleshooting
Problem | Possible Cause and Solution |
---|---|
The instrument does not turn on. | The instrument is not connected to the power supply correctly. Firmly insert the female plug into the instrument's jack and the male plug into a suitable AC outlet (page 9). |
The instrument turns off automatically even if no operation is performed. | This is normal behavior due to the Auto Power Off function (page 9). |
Noise is heard from the speakers or headphones. | The noise may be caused by interference from using a mobile phone in close proximity to this instrument. Turn off the mobile phone or move it away from this instrument. When using the instrument with a smart device application, it is recommended to activate the smart device's "Airplane Mode" to avoid noise caused by communication. |
The volume is too low or no sound is heard. | The master volume is set too low. Set it to an appropriate level using the [VOLUME] slider (page 8). Ensure headphones or a conversion adapter are not connected to the [PHONES] jack (page 8). |
The pedal produces no effect. | The pedal plug or cable may not be connected correctly. Turn off the instrument and ensure the pedal plug is firmly inserted into the [SUSTAIN] jack or the [PEDAL UNIT] jack (pages 9, 15). |
The footswitch (for sustain) seems to produce the opposite effect. For example, pressing the footswitch cuts off the sound, while releasing it sustains the sound. | The footswitch polarity is inverted because the footswitch was pressed when the unit was turned on. Turn the instrument off and on again to reset the function. Be sure not to press the footswitch when turning on the power. |
When using a DAW (digital audio workstation) with the instrument, a loud noise or abnormal sound is emitted. | Depending on the computer or application software settings, a loud sound may be emitted. Deactivate the audio retransmission function (page 11). |

Half-Pedal Function
This function allows you to vary the sustain length based on the pressure applied to the damper pedal. The more the pedal is pressed, the longer the sustain of the sound will be. For example, if you press the damper pedal and the notes sound too loud with excessive sustain, you can release the pedal halfway or more to attenuate the sustain effect (muddiness).
Pedal Functions (for LP-5A Pedal Unit)
Damper Pedal (Right Pedal)
Notes are sustained as long as the pedal is held down, even if you lift your fingers from the keys. This corresponds to the Damper Resonance function. The deeper you press the pedal, the longer the sustain effect will be maintained (corresponding to the half-pedal function).
Sostenuto Pedal (Middle Pedal)
If you play a note or chord on the keyboard and press the sostenuto pedal while holding down the note(s), they will be sustained as long as you hold down the pedal. Since this pedal does not affect notes played while it is pressed, you can achieve playing styles such as a staccato melody accompanied by a sustained chord.
Diagram: [Illustration showing sostenuto pedal effect]
Mute Pedal (Left Pedal)
Keys played after pressing this pedal will sound slightly softer and less resonant. The effect continues as long as the pedal is held down. Since this pedal does not affect the sound of keys already being held down when the pedal is pressed, press the pedal just before the note or notes you wish to modify.
Pedal Function in Duo (page 10)
In Duo mode, the pedal functions change as follows:
- Right Pedal: Damper pedal for the right-hand range.
- Middle Pedal: Damper pedal for both the right-hand and left-hand ranges.
- Left Pedal: Damper pedal for the left-hand range.
