Introduction

This manual provides comprehensive instructions for operating the Yamaha PSR-E263 and YPT-260 digital keyboards. It covers essential safety precautions, setup procedures, an overview of the instrument's controls, various playing techniques, recording functions, detailed settings, technical specifications, and lists of available voices, styles, and effects.

Precautions

WARNING: Always follow basic precautions to avoid serious injury or death from electrical shock, short-circuiting, damages, fire, or other hazards.

  • For AC Adaptor: Use only the specified Yamaha AC adaptor. Indoor use only; do not use in wet environments. Ensure the AC outlet is accessible for quick disconnection in case of malfunction. Electricity flows at a minimum level even when the power switch is off. Unplug the power cord when not in use for extended periods.
  • For this Instrument: Do not expose to rain, water, or damp conditions. Do not place liquid containers on the instrument. If liquid spills, turn off power immediately and unplug. Never handle plugs with wet hands. Do not place burning items on the unit. Follow battery precautions to avoid explosion, fire, or leakage.
  • Battery Precautions: Do not attempt to recharge non-rechargeable batteries. Keep batteries separate from metallic objects. Use only specified battery types and models. Ensure correct polarity insertion. Remove batteries if the instrument is not used for a long time. Keep batteries away from small children. If batteries leak, avoid contact with fluid and consult a doctor if contact occurs.
  • If you notice any abnormality (frayed cord, unusual smells, smoke, dropped objects, sudden loss of sound), turn off the power immediately, disconnect the plug (or remove batteries), and have the instrument inspected by qualified Yamaha service personnel.

CAUTION: Follow basic precautions to avoid physical injury or damage to the instrument or property.

  • Power Supply/AC Adaptor: Do not use multiple connectors. Always hold the plug, not the cord, when disconnecting. Remove the plug during electrical storms or extended periods of non-use.
  • Location: Do not place the instrument in unstable positions. Remove cables before moving. Ensure AC outlets are accessible. Use only the specified stand and provided screws.
  • Connections: Turn off power for all components before connecting or disconnecting. Set all volumes to minimum before powering on/off.
  • Handling Caution: Do not insert fingers or objects into gaps. Do not rest weight on the instrument or use excessive force. Avoid prolonged use at high volumes to prevent hearing damage.

General Notices and Information

  • Yamaha is not responsible for damage caused by improper use or modifications.
