Assembly Instructions
The enclosed steps detail how to assemble a C-Frame or T-Frame desk using your own desktop. Scan the appropriate QR code for assembly instructions with UPLIFT provided desktops.
C-Frame Assembly Instructions
This QR code provides instructions for assembling a desk with C-Frame Feet and Side Brackets.
T-Frame Assembly Instructions
This QR code provides instructions for assembling a desk with T-Frame Feet and Side Brackets.
Step 1 - Inventory of Parts
Before discarding packaging, lay out all parts and verify contents against the package list. If a part is missing, check boxes carefully. Contact UPLIFT Desk at (800) 349-3839 or support@upliftdesk.com before starting assembly.
Step 2 - Attach Crossbar Ends to Desktop
Place desktop on a clean surface, bottom side facing upward. Position the Crossbar End and Crossbar Rail assembly on the desktop as shown. The Control Box can be positioned on either the left or right.
Diagram Description: An illustration shows the Crossbar End and Crossbar Rail assembly positioned on the underside of a desktop, with the Control Box indicated. Arrows point to set screws on the crossbar mechanism, indicating they should be loosened with an Allen Wrench.
Loosen Set Screws indicated by the arrows with the Allen Wrench.
Slide the Crossbar Ends apart so that the outside ends are near the sides of the desktop.
Step 3 - Attach Legs
Insert a Leg into the slots of each Crossbar End as shown. Note: If needed, slide Crossbar Rails toward the middle to avoid blocking the Crossbar End slots.
Diagram Description: An illustration shows a Leg being inserted into the slots of a Crossbar End. A note indicates that Crossbar Rails may need to be slid towards the middle to avoid blocking Crossbar End slots.
Step 4 - Attach Side Brackets to Legs
Place the Side Brackets as shown. Note: If assembling a C-frame, ensure the long ends of the Side Brackets face the front of the desk. Align Side Bracket screws with Leg holes and insert with Allen wrench. Ensure these screws are tight!
Diagram Description: Illustrations show the placement of Side Brackets for both C-Frame and T-Frame configurations, indicating front and back of the desk.
Step 5 - Drill Frame Attachment Holes
Align the frame on the desktop so that the ends of the Side Brackets are approximately centered between the front and back edges of the desktop and approximately 1/2" in from each side edge. Mark the center of each Side Bracket and Crossbar End hole.
- C-Frames have three holes in the Side Brackets.
- T-Frames have two holes in the Side Brackets.
Diagram Description: Diagrams indicate the locations where pilot holes should be drilled on the desktop for C-Frame and T-Frame side brackets and crossbar ends. An important safety warning illustration shows a drill bit with tape wrapped 1/2 inch from the tip to prevent over-drilling.
IMPORTANT: DRILL NO DEEPER THAN 1/2" to avoid drilling through your desktop. Wrap a piece of tape around your drill bit 1/2" from the tip. Stop drilling just before the tape touches the desktop.
Move the frame out of the way and drill 1/2" deep pilot holes at your pencil marks using a 1/8" drill bit.
Diagram Description: Illustrations show the pilot holes drilled into the desktop for C-Frame and T-Frame frame attachment.
Step 6 - Frame Attachment
Replace the frame assemblies back onto the desktop and realign the Side Bracket and Crossbar End holes with the drilled holes. Use a Phillips screwdriver to insert a #10 x 5/8" Wood Screw into each hole. Ensure screws are tight, but do not overtighten to avoid stripping.
Diagram Description: Illustrations show the frame assemblies re-aligned with the drilled holes, ready for screw insertion for both C-Frame and T-Frame configurations.
Step 7 - Center Crossbar Rails
Center the Crossbar Rails between the Crossbar Ends using the indicator marks. Tighten the eight M10 x 8 Set Screws.
Diagram Description: Illustration shows how to center the Crossbar Rails using indicator marks.
Step 8 - Attach Feet
Place a Foot on each Leg as shown. Note: If assembling a C-frame, ensure the long ends of the Feet face the front of the desk. Align screws in Feet with Leg holes and insert with Allen wrench. Ensure these screws are tight!
Diagram Description: Illustration shows a Foot being attached to a Leg, with a note on C-frame orientation (long end toward front of desk).
Step 9 - Attach Keypad
Position the Keypad where desired and refer to Step 5 for marking and drilling attachment holes. Use a Phillips screwdriver to attach the keypad with two #10 x 5/8" Wood Screws. Do not overtighten.
Separate the top and bottom halves of the Keypad Cable Channel. Peel backing off the bottom half, expose adhesive, and press it onto the desktop about 3" to 4" behind the Keypad. Route the Keypad cable through the bottom half and reattach the top.
Diagram Description: Illustrations show the Keypad being attached to the desktop and the Keypad Cable Channel being applied and used to route the cable.
Step 10 - Connect Cables
Note: Keypad and Control Box may be on opposite sides when assembled.
- Connect the Power Cable to the AC port on the Control Box.
- Connect the cable from the Leg closest to the Control Box to the M1 port.
- Connect the cable from the opposite Leg to the Leg Extension Cable (pre-connected to M2 port).
- Connect the Keypad cable to the HS port.
Diagram Description: Diagram shows the Control Box with ports labeled AC, DC, M1, HS, M2, and illustrates how the Power Cable, Leg cables, and Keypad cable connect.
Step 11 - Cable Management
Adhere Cable Mounts to the desktop (placement is flexible, recommended locations shown). Thread a Hook & Loop Strip through the Cable Mount, bundle cables, and secure. Hook & Loop Strips can also be used without Cable Mounts by sliding them under or through the Crossbar Rails.
Diagram Description: Illustration shows Cable Mounts being adhered to the desktop and Hook & Loop Strips used to bundle cables.
Step 12 - Optionally Install Casters and/or Other Accessories
To install casters, unscrew leveling glides counterclockwise, then screw in casters clockwise until tight. Before flipping the desk, install other accessories like drawers, keyboard trays, CPU holders, or surge protectors.
Diagram Description: Illustration shows leveling glides being unscrewed and casters being screwed in.
Step 13 - Install FlexMount Cable Manager
Refer to separate instructions for the FlexMount Cable Manager. Install Cable Manager Brackets first, then complete assembly after the desk is flipped upright.
Diagram Description: Illustration shows Cable Manager Brackets being installed.
Step 14 - Flip Desk Over (two people recommended)
Caution: Be aware of cables and attached accessories when flipping. Gradually lift the front of the desk until the back of the Feet rest on the floor, then adjust grip and rotate the desk upright.
Diagram Description: Illustration depicts the two-person process of flipping the desk over.
Step 15 - Attach Logo Plates
Before attaching Logo Plates, use the Allen Wrench to tighten Side Bracket screws again. Align Logo Plate posts with holes and press firmly into Side Bracket. Repeat on the other side.
