Assembly Instructions

Step 1 - Preparation

  • A. For ease and safety, use two people for assembly.
  • B. Assemble on a debris-free carpet or blanket to protect floors and desktop.
  • C. Ensure all components and hardware are received before disposing of packing material. Lay out items and verify quantities against the Package Contents.

Step 2 - Wall Mount Bracket for Wall Mounted Desks

If installing a OnePod Work Surface, skip to Step 3.

  • A. Determine the mounting wall and ensure a 120V outlet is nearby. Position the desk to allow safe clearance for height adjustment, avoiding obstructions like shelves or cabinets. Note: Advanced Keypads allow setting height limits to prevent collisions.
  • B. Use a stud finder to locate and mark the center of a wall stud.
  • C. Using a level, draw a vertical line on the wall centered on the stud, from the floor up to approximately 20 inches. Diagram shows wall, stud, and measurement lines.
  • D. Place the Wall Mount Bracket (P2) against the wall, aligning its three oval holes with the vertical line. Diagram shows bracket placement.
  • E. Position the bottom of the bracket about 1/2 inch above the floor or baseboard. Mark the center of each of the three mounting holes. Note: Mounting above a baseboard will raise the desk's lowest height setting.
  • F. Set the Wall Mount Bracket aside. For wooden studs, drill 2-inch deep holes at the marked locations using a 15/64" drill bit. For other wall types, refer to "Notes on Wall Construction" and follow anchor manufacturer instructions. Diagram shows drilling pilot holes.
  • G. Align the Wall Mount Bracket (P2) with the wall holes, ensuring the three bent tabs face upwards. Diagram shows bracket alignment.
  • H. For wooden studs, fasten the bracket using a 17mm socket wrench, three 10mm x 65mm Lag Screws (H2a), and three 10mm Plain Washers (H3). For other wall types, follow anchor manufacturer instructions.
  • I. Use a level to ensure the bracket is vertical before fully tightening screws.

Step 3 - Wall Mount Bracket Installation for OnePod Work Surface

If installing a Wall Mounted Desk, skip to Step 4.

  • A. Align the Wall Mount Bracket (P2) with the three holes on the right side wall of the OnePod, ensuring the bent tabs face upwards. Diagram shows bracket alignment on OnePod.
  • B. Fasten the bracket to the preinstalled threaded mount points using a 5/8" socket wrench, three M10 x 50mm Hex Head Machine Screws (H2b), and three 10mm Plain Washers (H3).
  • C. Use a level to ensure the bracket is vertical before fully tightening screws.

Step 4 - Top Mounting Plate Installation

If installing a OnePod Work Surface, skip to Step 5.

  • A. If using your own desktop, ensure it is no larger than 48" wide and 24" deep, and weighs no more than 45 lb.
  • B. Align the slotted holes in the Top Mounting Plate (P3) with the threaded metal inserts near the center of the desktop. Use inner slots for 42" wide desktops, and outer slots for 48" wide desktops or user-supplied desktops. Center the plate and align its back edge with the desktop's back edge. Diagram shows slot usage for different desktop widths.
  • C. Attach the Top Mounting Plate to the desktop threaded inserts using a Phillips Head Screwdriver, two #10-24 x 3/4" Machine Screws (H4), and two #10 Plain Washers (H6). Diagram shows attachment.
  • D. IMPORTANT: Do not drill deeper than 1/2" into the desktop surface. Wrap tape around the drill bit 1/2" from the tip as a depth guide. Stop drilling just before the tape touches the mounting plate. Diagram illustrates drill depth guide.

Desk Error Codes - Firmware or Connectivity Issue (E01, E02, E03, E04, E05, E06)

  1. Check that all cables are securely connected to the control box and the desk has power. Verify outlet power with another device. If the outlet has no power, check your circuit breaker.
  2. Check for obstructions interfering with desk motion. Ensure nothing is too close above, below, or beside the desk.
  3. Desk moves slightly then reverses direction? This is the anti-collision safety system.
    • Ensure the control box is securely attached to the desk frame or desktop. A loose or dangling control box can falsely trigger the system.
    • Move any objects contacting the desk during movement.
    • Check for tight cords pulling on the desk. Raise the desk while watching cords; a tightening cord may trigger the system.
    • Adjust anti-collision sensitivity (see Advanced Keypad Settings).
  4. Check that all cables are installed properly and inserted firmly into the correct control box ports.

E08 Desk Error Code

  1. Follow the Thorough Desk Reset instructions to help isolate the component needing attention.
  2. Use the support form at upliftdesk.com/uplift-desk-reset-troubleshooting-steps/ for further troubleshooting. Explain the error code, any changes, and include photos of the control box and cables.
  3. If the error changes from E08 to E07, a replacement leg cable or leg may be sent.
  4. If the error remains E08, a new control box and possibly legs may be sent.

Desk Error Codes - Standing Desk Legs Are Uneven (E07, E09, E010, E011, E012)

Perform the Thorough Desk Reset procedure.

H01 Desk Error Code - Control Box Overheated

Allow the desk to cool before raising or lowering. The desk motor has a 10% duty cycle to prevent overheating (e.g., 2 minutes of use per 20-minute period). Otherwise, an H01 code may appear.

Starting & Stopping

If the desk continuously starts and stops, ensure the Control Box is securely attached to the desk frame for proper function.

Standing Desk Stability

Proper assembly is crucial for stability. If the desk feels unstable, tighten the screws fastening the desktop to the desk frame. Loose screws can cause imbalance and exacerbate instability.
