USER'S MANUAL
Read and keep for future reference. Contains important safety information.
Product Description
The Costway safe box is designed for protecting your cash. It is particularly suitable for accepting coin bags, with a deposit drawer located at the front that functions like a post office box.
Installation
Choose a convenient and discreet location for the safe, ideally inside a fitted wardrobe or cupboard to deter intruders. For enhanced security, position the unit where it can be bolted to both a wall and the floor. Wall fixing should always be to a solid wall, not a stud wall.
Preparation for Use
This product is battery operated and requires 4 x 1.5V AA batteries (not supplied). Use of alkaline batteries is recommended.
Manual Override System: For initial opening or in case of battery failure, a manual override system is available. Remove the battery cover plate (d), locate the keyhole, insert the key, and turn it counter-clockwise. Then, turn the knob (a) clockwise to manually open the safe. The product is supplied with 2 original keys.
To Install the Batteries
After opening the safe, remove the battery cover plate and install the four batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -). The display (e) will scan the electronic system status and show "GOOD" if operational.
Opening the Safe After Installing the Batteries
To open the safe, press the "START" button (c). The display will show "-----". Input one of the two factory-preset codes (0.0.0.0.0.0 for user code or 8.8.8.8.8.8 for master code) and press "START" to confirm. The display will show "OPEN", and you will have 4 seconds to open the safe using the knob.
Programming the User Code
- With the main safe door open, press the red button (at the back of the door near the hinge). The display will show "-----".
- Press "START" immediately.
- Enter your desired 6-digit user code. The display will show "IN" and your input numbers, confirming the new code.
Programming the Master Code

- Press the red button (at the back of the door near the hinge). The display will show "IN", confirming the new master code.
Error Handling and Override
If an incorrect code is entered, the display will show "ERROR" and the safe will not open. If an incorrect code is used 4 times consecutively, the system will lock for 3 minutes, displaying "ERROR". During this lockout period, the override key can be used to open the door. After using the key, the buzzer can be silenced by pressing the red button.
Battery Replacement
To check battery status, press the "START" button. If the batteries are low, the display will show "LOBAE". Replace the batteries with 4 x AA (1.5V R06) alkaline batteries. After replacement, the display will scan the system and show "GOOD" if operational.
Important Note: Do not keep the key inside the safe. In case of battery failure, you will not be able to open the safe without the key.
