A diagram shows the input and output connections with L and N terminals.
3. Add Device
- Power up the device after completing the installation.
- Press and hold the button for 7 seconds until the green LED blinks rapidly. Note: Different firmware versions may have different LED blinking patterns.
- Open the eWeLink app and tap the '+' icon to add a device. Select the pairing mode based on the LED blinking pattern:
- Quick Pairing Mode (TOUCH): If the LED blinks rapidly, select this mode and tap 'Next'.
- Compatible Pairing Mode (AP): If the LED blinks differently (e.g., slowly or in a specific pattern), select this mode. For iOS users, go to Phone Settings > WiFi, connect to the WiFi network starting with 'ITEAD*****' using the default password '12345678', then return to eWeLink and tap 'Next'.
- The app will automatically search for and connect to the smart home device.
- Enter your home WiFi SSID and password.
- If your WiFi network has no password, leave the field blank.
- eWeLink currently supports only the 2.4GHz WiFi communication protocol. 5GHz WiFi is not supported.
- Name the device to complete the process.
Device Status: The device may appear 'Offline' initially as it takes about 1-2 minutes to connect to your router and the server. Once the green LED is solid, the device is 'Online'. If it remains offline, close and reopen the eWeLink app.

6. Problems and Solutions
For detailed FAQs, visit the Itead Smart Home Forum. If your issue is not resolved here, please submit feedback via the eWeLink app.
- Device Added Successfully but Stays "Offline":
- Newly added devices require 1-2 minutes to connect to your router and the internet.
- Check Green LED Status:
- Quickly blinks once and repeats: Failed to connect to the router. Possible reasons: incorrect WiFi password, weak WiFi signal, or trying to connect to a 5GHz network (only 2.4GHz is supported). Ensure your router's MAC address filtering is open.
- Slowly blinks once and repeats: Connected to the router and server but failed to be added to the device list. Power cycle the device; if the issue persists, try adding it again.
- Quickly blinks twice and repeats: Connected to the router but failed to connect to the server. Verify your WiFi router is functioning correctly.
- APP Can't Find Device in Pairing Status:
- This might be due to your phone's cache. Try closing your phone's WLAN, waiting a minute, and reopening it. Power cycle the device and try pairing again.
- WiFi Expired, Can Devices Connect to LAN?
- Sonoff Basic and Sonoff RF supported LAN control with an update on 15/10/2017. However, LAN function has since been stopped.
