Sonoff T1 UK User Guide
Welcome to the Sonoff T1 UK User Guide. This guide covers the Sonoff T1 1-3 gang WiFi & RF wall touch switch, which can be controlled via touch, the eWeLink app, or a 433MHz RF Remote.
1. Download "eWeLink" app
Search for "eWeLink" in the App Store (for iOS) or Google Play (for Android) to download and install the application.
Visuals show smartphone interfaces for downloading the app from the iOS App Store and Android Google Play.
2. Installation
ON/OFF Operating Principle: Connected appliances operate by switching the Live wire's power on/off.
CAUTION: Before installation, ensure the power supply is completely cut off.
2.1 Wiring for Lights (3-gang example)
Diagram illustrates the back of the Sonoff T1 switch with dimensions (86mm x 58mm) and terminals labeled L, N, L1, L2, L3, L4 (OUT). A wiring schematic shows a 90-250V AC input connected to L and N. The L terminals (L1, L2, L3) are connected to three lights, and the N terminals are connected to the neutral line. A note indicates "Not applicable without N line!".
2.2 Wiring for Appliances (1-gang example, rated lower than 600W)
Diagram shows a plug with L and N wires connecting to the switch's L (Lin) and N (Nin) input terminals. The L output (Lout) is connected to an appliance (e.g., a fan). The switch requires both Live (Lin) and Neutral (Nin) input. L1 out, L2 out, L3 out, L4 out provide Live output for each gang.
After connecting the wires, use a screwdriver [screwdriver] to open the panel. The position for opening is indicated. Then, use two screws to fix the back enclosure into the wall box and close the panel.
Image shows a hand holding a screwdriver to open the switch panel, and another image shows the back enclosure being secured with screws.
3. Add Device (eWeLink App)
Step 1: Power up the wall switch.
Step 2: Press the first button for 7 seconds until it fast blinks to enter WiFi pairing status.
Diagram of the Sonoff T1 switch panel labels: On/Off LED [LED indicator], Pairing button/Manual switch [pairing button], WiFi LED [LED indicator], Toughened glass panel. The Sonoff logo is visible.
Step 3: The blinking pattern indicates pairing status: blink 3 times and on repeatedly. For Android users, select the first icon and click NEXT. For iOS users, select the corresponding icon and click NEXT. The eWeLink app will auto-search and connect to the device.
4. Input WiFi Credentials
Enter your home WiFi SSID and password. If there is no password, leave it blank.
Note: eWeLink currently supports only the 2.4G WiFi communication protocol. 5G WiFi is not supported.
Icons representing a WiFi router [WiFi symbol] and a pair of glasses/eyes are shown.
5. Name the Device
Name your device to complete the setup.
6. Device Status
The device may appear "Offline" on eWeLink for 1-2 minutes while connecting to your router and server. Once the green LED is on, the device is "Online". If it remains "Offline", close and reopen the eWeLink app.
4. RF Remote
4.1 Pair with 433MHz RF Remote
Images show a T433 86 Type RF Remote (with two coin batteries) and a 4-button RF Remote.
To pair the 3 gangs, press and hold the touch button of the T1 until a beep sound [beep sound] is heard. Then, press a button on the RF Remote. A beep sound confirms successful learning. Repeat for other gangs. One RF button can learn multiple gangs, and one gang can remember up to 14 RF keys.
For the T433 86 Type RF Remote, install the battery first. You can install the T433 remote onto an 86 type wall switch box or stick it anywhere on the wall.
4.2 Clear 433MHz Codes
Press and hold the touch button of the T1 until two beep sounds are heard. Press any button on the RF Remote. A beep sound indicates the code has been successfully cleared.
5. APP Features
5.1 WiFi Remote Control and Synchronous Device Status
Control devices by tapping their icons in the app. Device status is displayed simultaneously on the app.
5.2 Share Control
An icon representing sharing [share icon] is shown.
Share devices with other eWeLink accounts. Both the owner and the shared user must remain online in eWeLink during the sharing process.
To share, click "Share", input the recipient's eWeLink account (phone number or email), select permissions (edit/delete/change/enable), and click Next. The recipient will receive an invitation; accepting it grants them access to control the device.
5.3 Timing Schedules
An alarm clock icon (⏰) is shown.
Support for up to 8 enabled single, repeat, or countdown timing schedules per device.
5.4 Scene/Smart Scene
Scenes allow automatic triggering of devices. Access Scene Settings from the upper right corner of the Device List. Set up scenes or smart scenes to control devices automatically.
Users should select "Click to execute" in the condition, add existing devices, name the scene, and save it.
5.5 Set Default Device Status
A gear icon (⚙️) is shown.
In Device Settings, you can set the default status (ON or OFF) for the device when it is powered on.
6. Security Mechanism
Each device has a single owner. Other users cannot add devices already assigned. To add a device to another account, it must be deleted from the current account first.
7. Update
The system will remind you of new firmware or version updates. Please update as soon as you can.
8. Problems and Solutions
For detailed FAQs, visit the Itead Smart Home Forum. If your problem is not resolved, submit feedback via eWeLink.
8.1 Device Added Successfully but Stays "Offline"
Answer: Newly added devices require 1-2 minutes to connect to your router and the internet. If it remains offline, check the green LED status:
1.1. Green LED blinks quickly once and repeats: Device failed to connect to the router. This could be due to an incorrect WiFi password or the device being too far from the router, resulting in a weak WiFi signal. Ensure you are using a 2.4GHz WiFi network (5GHz is not supported) and that your router is MAC-open.
1.2. Green LED slowly blinks once and repeats: Device connected to the router and server but failed to be added to the device list. Power cycle the device; if it still doesn't work, try adding it again.
1.3. Green LED quickly blinks twice and repeats: Device connected to the router but failed to connect to the server. Verify that your WiFi router is functioning correctly.
8.2 APP Can't Find Device in Pairing Status
Answer: This may be due to your phone's cache. Close your phone's WLAN, wait a minute, then reopen it. Power off the device if possible, then power it back on and try again.
8.3 WiFi Expired - Can I Connect to LAN?
Answer: The Sonoff T1 does not support LAN control. You must connect it to a WiFi network with internet access.
