Intended Use
The Black & Decker ASI500 inflation station is designed for cordless use or from a standard 12 Vdc vehicle socket to inflate car and bike tires, balls, rafts, air mattresses, and swimming pool floats. It is intended for household, consumer use only.
Safety Instructions

- For home and car use only.
- Compressed air is not safe for breathing; never inhale it.
- Inflate items only to their manufacturer's recommendations to avoid explosion risk.
- Do not leave the inflator running unattended.
- Operate on a stable surface at ground or bench level to prevent it from "walking" due to vibration.
- Do not modify or attempt to repair the unit.
- Do not operate the inflator when the vehicle engine is running.
- Use only included accessories or those rated for 160 PSI / 11.03 BAR / 1103 KPA or higher.
- Do not play with the tool; high-pressure air is dangerous.
- Do not direct air-flow at yourself or others.
- The inflator can become hot; allow it to cool for 30 minutes before storing.
- Never carry the inflator by the hose.
- Do not direct the nozzle or hose at animals or bystanders.
- Store out of reach of small children.
- The gauge is a guide; check tire pressures with a certified gauge regularly.
- Check the power supply cord for damage.
- Do not use if the power supply cord or plug is damaged.

- This appliance is not intended for use by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience, unless supervised.
- Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance.
Additional Safety Instructions for Batteries and Chargers
Batteries
- Never attempt to open.
- Do not expose to water or heat.
- Do not store above 40°C.
- Charge between 10°C and 40°C.
- Charge only with the provided charger.
- Dispose of batteries according to environmental guidelines.
- Do not damage or deform the battery pack (puncture/impact) as it may cause injury or fire.
- Do not charge damaged batteries.
- In extreme conditions, leakage may occur. Wipe liquid carefully with a cloth, avoid skin contact.
- Warning: Battery fluid may cause injury or property damage. In case of skin contact, rinse with water. Seek medical attention if redness, pain, or irritation occurs. In case of eye contact, rinse with clean water and seek medical attention.
Chargers
- Ensure mains voltage matches the charger's rating plate.
- Warning: Never replace the charger unit with a regular mains plug.
- Use the Black & Decker charger only for the supplied battery.
- Never attempt to charge non-rechargeable batteries.
- If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or an authorized service center.
- Do not expose the charger to water.
- Do not open or probe the charger.
- Place appliance/tool/battery in a well-ventilated area when charging.
Electrical Safety
- Charger is double insulated; no earth wire required.
- Always check that mains voltage corresponds to the rating plate.
- If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or an authorized service center.
- Never attempt to replace the charger unit with a regular mains plug.

Diagram Description (Fig. A): The diagram shows the main unit with its handle, power switch, LCD display, and accessory storage. It also shows the charger (13) and the charging LED (15).
Before Use
Charging (Fig. A):
- The internal battery requires 4-5 hours of charging using the provided AC charger (13).
- Insert the charger jack plug (9) into the jack plug socket (11) on the front of the unit.
- Plug the AC charger (13) into the mains power supply.
- The charging LED (15) indicates charging status: Red (charging), Green (charged).
- When fully charged, remove the AC charger from the mains and the jack plug from the unit.
- Store the AC charger safely.
Use
Hose and Cord Storage (Fig. B-D)
- Wrap the 12 Vdc cord (17) around the base of the unit.
- Store the 12 Vdc adapter (8) in its storage location (16) and rotate 90° to secure.
- The air hose (5) is stored in a channel (26) around the top of the unit. Ensure it's snapped into retaining clips and the lever (19) is in the up position (Fig. D).
- The high-volume hose (7) is stored in a channel around the center and snaps into place at both ends.
- Accessories (14) are stored on the front of the unit.
Fitting the Accessories (Fig. D, G-I)
The inflator comes with standard tapered nozzles and a needle inflator nozzle, stored on the front (14).
- To use the universal valve adapter (6), ensure lever (19) is in the up position.
- Place the universal valve adapter (6) over the inflation needle or tapered nozzle stem (Fig. D).
- Press lever (19) down to lock the adapter in place.
- Place the inflation needle or tapered nozzle into the item to be inflated.
- Note: Always keep lever (19) in the up position when not in use. Operate only with the universal valve adapter or included nozzles. Ensure the adapter is firmly locked before operating.
- A high-volume adapter (24) is also supplied, stored on the front (Fig. G).
- To use the high-volume adapter (24): Remove it from the high-volume inflate connection (10). Remove the high-volume hose (7) from storage. Remove the tapered nozzle (18) from the end of hose (7). Fit the high-volume adapter (24) to the end of hose (7) (Fig. H).
- For inflatables with internal flaps, push the nozzle firmly into the valve to displace the flap.
- Warning: Excessive air pressure can cause bursting or injury. Check the item's maximum pressure rating.
- Note: If the item's pressure rating is above 100 PSI / 6.89 BAR / 689 KPA, the maximum run time is 10 minutes, with a 20-minute rest period required before reuse.
Operating the Inflator (Fig. E)
Warning: Do not operate the inflator when the vehicle engine is running.
Note: Ensure your 12 Vdc accessory socket is live. Some vehicles only provide power when the ignition key is in the accessory position.
To power the display from the 12 Vdc adapter:
- Fully extend the 12 Vdc cord (17) before each use.
- Connect the 12 Vdc adapter (8) into your vehicle's 12 Vdc accessory socket.
- Switch the main power switch (1) to the inflate position (c) to power the LCD.
To power the LCD from the internal battery (cordless operation):
- Switch the main power switch (1) to the inflate position (c) to power the LCD.
Warning: Do not leave the inflator running unattended. It could burst tires or other items.
Setting the Required Pressure (Fig. E)
Note: The LCD displays inflation pressures only when the inflator is in use. Battery status is always shown.
Battery Status Icons:
- ⬜⬜⬜ Needs charging.
- ⬛⬜⬜ Charging.
- ⬛⬛⬛ Fully charged.
Note: The automatic shut-off feature must be set before the unit operates in inflation mode.
- To switch units (PSI, BAR, KPA), press the '-' and '+' buttons (21, 23) together.
- To set pressure: Press and hold '-' or '+' buttons (21, 23) for 3 seconds until the display flashes. While flashing, press '-' or '+' to select the desired pressure. The display will return to "0.0 PSI / 0.00 BAR / 0 KPA" after 3 seconds.
- Connect the universal valve adapter (6) and any required accessory to the item to be inflated, ensuring the adapter lever (19) is in the down position to lock it.
- Note: Ensure the universal valve adapter is correctly fitted.
- To start inflation, press the power button (22) on the LCD. The unit will stop automatically when the preset pressure is reached.
- Note: The actual pressure reading may drop slightly after stopping; this is normal.
- To stop inflation at any time, press the power button (22).
- Remove the valve adapter or accessory and the 12 Vdc adapter from the vehicle socket.
- Turn the main power switch (1) to the off position (b).
Note: Turning the main power switch off resets all settings. This is a safety feature to prevent over-inflation.
Using the Inflator as a Pressure Gauge
- Switch the main power switch (1) to the inflate position (c, Fig. E).
- Connect the universal valve adapter (6) to the item to be checked.
- The LCD will display the item's pressure.
- After checking, turn the main power switch (1) off and return the air hose to storage.
Operating the High-Volume Pump
Note: Do not operate the pump when the vehicle engine is running.
Note: Ensure your 12 Vdc accessory socket is live.
To inflate using the high-volume pump (e.g., air mattresses, rafts, swimming pool floats):
Note: The pump mode does NOT have an auto shut-off feature.
- Switch the main power switch (1) to the pump position (a, Fig. E).
- Remove the high-volume hose (7) from its storage channel and connect it to the high-volume pump inflate connection (10) (Fig. F).
- Insert the hose (with accessories if required) into the item to be inflated.
- To start the pump, press the power switch (22) on the LCD.
- When inflated, or to stop the pump at any time, press the power switch (22).
- Remove the hose from the item and store it on the unit.
- Turn the main power switch (1) to the off position (b, Fig. E).
To deflate using the high-volume pump (e.g., air mattresses, rafts, swimming pool floats):
Note: The pump mode does NOT have an auto shut-off feature.
- Switch the main power switch (1) to the pump position (a, Fig. E).
- Remove the high-volume hose (7) from its storage channel and connect it to the high-volume pump deflate connection (4) (Fig. F).
- Insert the hose (with accessories if required) into the item to be deflated.
- To start the pump, press the power switch (22) on the LCD.
- When deflated, or to stop the pump at any time, press the power switch (22).
- Remove the high-volume hose (7) from the item and store it in the storage channel.
- Turn the main power switch (1) to the off position (b, Fig. E).
Operating the LED Light
To switch on the LED light (12):
- Switch the main power switch (1) to the inflate (c, Fig. E) or pump (a, Fig. E) position.
- Press either the '-' or '+' buttons (21, 23) on the LCD (2) to turn the LED light (12) on.
To switch the LED light (12) off:
- Press either the '-' or '+' buttons (21, 23) again.
- Turn the main power switch (1) to off.
Sleep Mode to Preserve Battery Life
The unit has a sleep mode to prolong internal battery life. If left on and unused for more than two minutes, it will switch to sleep mode.
To power the unit again, switch the main power switch (1) on and off, or press any button on the LCD (2).
Note: After sleep mode, all settings are lost and must be re-entered under 'Setting the Required Pressure'.
Maintenance
The Black & Decker appliance/tool is designed for long-term operation with minimal maintenance. Continuous satisfactory operation depends on proper care and regular cleaning.
Warning! Before performing any maintenance:
- Switch off and unplug the appliance/tool.
- If applicable, switch off and remove the battery.
- Unplug the charger before cleaning it.
- Regularly clean ventilation slots with a soft brush or dry cloth.
- Regularly clean the housing with a damp cloth; do not use abrasive or solvent-based cleaners.
- If fitted, regularly open the chuck and tap to remove interior dust.

Replacing the Fuse in the Vehicle DC Accessory Plug
- Remove the cap by turning it counter-clockwise.
- Remove the cap and centre pin.
- Remove the fuse.
- Fit a new fuse of the same type and size (8A/250V).
- Refit the cap and centre pin.
- Tighten the cap by turning clockwise onto the plug.
Protecting the Environment
Separate Collection: This product must not be disposed of with normal household waste.
When this Black & Decker product needs replacement or is no longer useful, do not dispose of it with household waste. Make it available for separate collection.
Separate collection of used products and packaging allows materials to be recycled and reused, helping to prevent environmental pollution and reduce demand for raw materials.
