Installation Instructions
Before Using Your Appliance
- Remove exterior and interior packing.
- Check for all parts: 2 Refrigerator Shelves, 2 Vegetable Crispers, 1 Glass Crisper Cover, 6 Door Bins (3 per door), 1 Instruction Manual.
Before connecting to power, let the unit stand upright for approximately 2 hours to reduce potential malfunctions from transport.
Clean interior with lukewarm water and a soft cloth.
Installation of Your Appliance
Place on a floor strong enough to support the fully loaded appliance. Adjust leveling legs to level.
Minimum Space Allowances:
Location | Space |
---|---|
Top | 1.0 Inch |
Sides | 0.5 Inch (Half Inch) each side |
Back | 3-5 Inches |
This space allows proper air circulation for the compressor and condenser.
Locate away from direct sunlight and heat sources (stove, heater, radiator). Direct sunlight may affect acrylic coating; heat sources increase electrical consumption. Extreme cold ambient temperatures may also affect performance.
Avoid moist areas.
Plug into an exclusive, properly installed-grounded wall outlet. Do not cut or remove the third (ground) prong. For power/grounding questions, contact a certified electrician or Avanti Products service center.
Electrical Connection
Warning: Improper use of the grounded plug risks electrical shock. If the power cord is damaged, have it replaced by an authorized Avanti Products service center.
The appliance must be properly grounded for safety. The power cord has a three-prong plug for standard three-prong outlets.
Never cut or remove the third ground prong.
Requires a standard 115 Volts~/60Hz electrical outlet with three-prong ground.
Secure the cord behind the appliance; do not leave it exposed or dangling.
Never unplug by pulling the cord; grip the plug firmly and pull straight out.
Do not use an extension cord. If the cord is too short, have a qualified electrician or service technician install an outlet.
Extension Cord
If an extension cord must be used, it must be UL/CUL-Listed, 3-wire grounding type, with a grounding plug and outlet, rated for 115 volts and at least 10 amperes.
Surge Protector
Appliances with control boards are susceptible to power surges. If your area is prone to surges/outages, use a surge protector with adequate surge block capacity. Consult an electrician for type and size. Damages from surges are not manufacturer defects and void the warranty.

Care and Maintenance
Cleaning Your Appliance
- Unplug unit, remove food and baskets.
- Wash interior with warm water and baking soda solution (approx. 2 tbsp baking soda per quart of water).
- Wash baskets with mild detergent solution.
- Clean exterior with mild detergent and warm water.
CAUTION: Failure to unplug may cause electrical shock or injury.
Power Failure
Most power failures are short. Minimize door openings to maintain temperature. For longer outages, take steps to protect food.
Vacation Time
Short vacations (under 3 weeks): Leave unit operating.
Long vacations (several months): Remove all food, unplug cord. Clean and dry interior thoroughly. Leave door slightly ajar to prevent odor/mold.
Moving Your Appliance
- Remove all food.
- Secure loose items with tape.
- Turn leveling screws up to the base to avoid damage.
- Tape door shut.
- Ensure unit remains upright during transport.
Energy Saving Tips
Locate in the coolest area, away from heat sources and direct sunlight.
Cool hot foods to room temperature before placing in unit. Overloading makes compressor run longer; slow freezing can reduce quality.
Wrap foods properly and wipe containers dry to reduce frost build-up.
Organize and label food to reduce door openings. Remove needed items at once and close door promptly.
