Fujifilm X-T5 Firmware Update v4.30: New Functions

Note: A firmware update will reset the NETWORK/USB connection settings to default if "WIRELESS CONNEC TED SHOOTING" is selected. Please reconfigure settings based on the external device to be connected.

Connecting to a Smartphone
Pair your camera with your smartphone and connect via Bluetooth®.
- Press the 💻 (Bluetooth) button when the camera is in shooting mode.
- Alternatively, proceed directly to step 3 by holding the 💻 button during playback.
- Highlight 'Bluetooth' and press MENU/OK.
- Highlight 'PAIRING' and press MENU/OK.
Launch the smartphone app and pair it with the camera to display a code on both the smartphone and camera. Confirm that both codes match for pairing.
A smartphone icon and a white Bluetooth icon will appear on the camera display when a connection is established.
- Once devices are paired, the smartphone will automatically connect to the camera when the app is launched.
- Disabling Bluetooth when the camera is not connected to a smartphone reduces battery consumption.
FOCUS RING OPERATION
Adjust settings for focus change when operating the focus ring during still photography.
NON-LINEAR
Focus is adjusted at the same speed as the ring is rotated.
LINEAR
Focus is adjusted linearly based on the amount of ring rotation. The focus ring rotation angle can also be set when focusing between the minimum focus distance and infinity.

Adjust settings for focus change when operating the focus ring during movie recording.
FILM SIMULATION
Simulate the effects of various film types, including black and white (with or without color filters). Choose a palette based on the subject and your creative intent.

Frame.io Integration
The camera displays icons indicating the status of selected files for upload or currently uploading to Frame.io.

Uploading Files to Frame.io
Upload selected files using "Frame.io Camera to Cloud".
- Select 'Frame.io Camera to Cloud' from the NETWORK/USB setting menu.
- Select 'UPLOAD SETTING > SELECT IMAGE AND TRANSFER'.
The 'NETWORK' and 'Frame.io' fields show the connection status to Frame.io. The 'PROJECT' and 'USER' fields display information provided to Frame.io using a computer or other device. Note that some characters may not display correctly and will be replaced by question marks ('?').
- Mark items for upload. Highlight photos and movies, then press MENU/OK to mark them for upload.
- To switch to the memory card in the other slot or display only items that meet selected criteria, press DISP/BACK before starting marking.
- To select all items, press the Q button.
- Selecting two items with the AEL button also selects all items between them.
- Press DISP/BACK and select 'START TRANSFER'. Selected items will be uploaded to Frame.io.
Filtering Items/Selecting a Slot
To switch to the memory card in the other slot or display only items that meet selected criteria, press DISP/BACK in the selection dialog.
- To display only items that meet selected criteria, select 'FILTER'.
- To switch to the memory card in the other slot, select 'SWITCH MEMORY CARD SLOT'.
Switching slots or changing filter criteria removes any existing upload markings.
- Element transfer orders can contain a maximum of 9999 items.
- If 'ON' is selected for 'Frame.io Camera to Cloud > TRANSFER IMAGE DURING POWER OFF', uploading will continue even when the camera is off.
Uploading Photos and Movies While Shooting and Recording
Photos and movies taken with 'ON' selected for 'Frame.io Camera to Cloud > UPLOAD SETTING > AUTO IMAGE TRANSFER COMMAND' in the NETWORK/USB setting menu are automatically marked for upload.
Connection via LAN Wireless
Connect to Frame.io via LAN wireless.
- Select 'NETWORK SETTING' from the network/USB setting menu.
- Select 'NOT CREATED'. You can also select or modify an existing network.
- Select 'ACCESS POINT SETTING'.
- Select 'IP ADDRESS SETTING' to manually choose the IP address as described in "Connection with an IP Address" (Page 14).
- Select 'SIMPLE SETTING'. To select a wireless LAN router or enter the router SSID manually, select 'MANUAL SETTING'.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to prepare the wireless LAN router. You can also connect using a PIN. Display the camera's PIN by pressing the focus ring lever upwards and enter it on the wireless LAN router.
- Press MENU/OK when the setting is complete.
- Select 'Frame.io Camera to Cloud > CONNECT' from the network/USB setting menu.
- Once the connection is established, select 'GET PAIRING CODE'. A pairing code will be displayed. Enter this code on the Frame.io screen accessed from your computer or tablet to connect Frame.io and the camera.
Connection with an IP Address
Connect to Frame.io using a manually created network/USB setting profile by providing the IP address and other network settings.
- Select 'MANUAL'. Select 'AUTOMATIC' to automatically assign an IP address to the camera.
- Enter an IP address.
- Select 'IP ADDRESS' and enter an IP address.
- Select 'SUBNET MASK' and enter a subnet mask.
- Select 'GATEWAY ADDRESS' and enter a gateway address.
- Select 'DNS SERVER ADDRESS' and enter a DNS server address.
Connection Status
The connection status to computers, FTP servers, and similar is also indicated by an icon in the electronic viewfinder or on the LCD monitor.

Basic Setup
When you turn on the camera for the first time, you can choose a language and set the camera's clock. Follow the steps below when turning on the camera for the first time.
- Turn on the camera. A language selection window will appear.
- Choose a language. Highlight a language and press MENU/OK.
- Choose a time zone. When prompted, select a time zone and turn daylight saving time on or off using the selector, then highlight 'SETUP COMPLETE' and press MENU/OK. To skip this step, press DISP/BACK.
- Set the clock.
- View smartphone app information.
- The camera will display a QR code that you can scan with your smartphone to open a website where you can download the smartphone app.
- Press MENU/OK to proceed to the next step.
Use the smartphone app to download images from the camera or control the camera remotely.
- Choose an 'AUTO POWER OFF TEMP.'. The selected setting determines the temperature at which the camera will automatically turn off. Press MENU/OK to exit and return to the shooting display.
- Format the memory card. Format memory cards before first use and be sure to reformat all memory cards after using them in a computer or other device.
If the battery is removed for an extended period, the camera's clock will be reset, and the language selection dialog will appear when the camera is turned on.
Firmware Updates
When the firmware has been updated and functions have been added and/or modified, update the firmware. After updating to the latest firmware, camera functions may differ slightly from those listed in this manual.
Downloading Firmware
First, download the latest firmware and save it to a memory card. For the firmware download method, refer to the following website: https://fujifilm-x.com/support/download/firmware/cameras/
Updating Firmware
Firmware can be updated in the following ways:
Updating Firmware When Starting the Camera
Insert a memory card containing the new firmware into the camera. While pressing the DISP/BACK button, turn on the camera. The firmware can be updated. When the update is complete, turn off the camera once.
Updating Firmware from the Setup Menus
Insert a memory card containing the new firmware into the camera. Select USER SETTING > FIRMWARE UPDATE to update the firmware.
Updating Firmware Using a Smartphone App (Manual Update)
If you use a smartphone app, you can update the firmware from the app. For details, refer to the following website: https://fujifilm-dsc.com/
Updating Firmware Using a Smartphone App (Automatic Update)
If you use FUJIFILM XApp Ver. 2.0.0 or later, the latest firmware will be automatically downloaded to the camera from the smartphone.
- When using the camera, a confirmation screen will appear if the update is ready. Select YES. If CANCEL is selected, the confirmation screen will appear again when the camera is turned on the next day or subsequent days.
- When the selection screen appears, select 'UPDATE NOW'.
- Select 'REMIND ME LATER' to display the confirmation screen again 3 days later.
- Select 'DISABLE NOTIFICATIONS' to not display any confirmation screens.
- Select OK.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to update the firmware.
- When the update completion screen appears, turn off the camera.
- Use a battery with sufficient charge to update the firmware. Do not turn off or use the camera during an update. If the camera is turned off during a firmware update, it may no longer function normally.
- Nothing will be displayed on the EVF during a firmware update. Use the LCD monitor.
- The time required for a firmware update depends on the firmware size. At most, it may take approximately 10 minutes.
- It is not possible to revert to a previous version after the firmware has been updated.

Checking Firmware Version
To view version information, turn on the camera while pressing the DISP/BACK button. The camera only displays the firmware version if a memory card is inserted. To view the firmware version or firmware update for optional accessories such as interchangeable lenses, hot-shoe mounted flash units, and bayonet adapters, mount the accessories to the camera.

FIRMWARE UPDATE
Use the firmware stored on a memory card to update the firmware for the camera, lenses, and other accessories.
